Abstract The aim of the audit was to assess if Trauma & Orthopaedic admission documentation and record-keeping met the national standards. Standards used included the ‘Royal College of Physicians-Generic Record Keeping Standards 2, 4, 6, 10’ and ‘Professional Records Standards Body, Section 2 Admission Record’. Seventeen admission criteria and eight documentation criteria where audited from the respective standards. Retrospective data were collected using A&E clerking documents, GP referral letters, admission clerking proformas and continuation notes from hospital admission. Initial data showed that only 41% of pages of documentation had appropriate patient identification details listed. Of the 17 admission criteria audited, only 7 criteria scored above 90%. The major downfalls were in vital signs (38%) and assessment scales i.e. Abbreviated Mental Test Score (18%) and venous thromboembolism assessment (32%). With regards to subsequent separate entries, the main failure was entries not listed in chronological order (48%), with only two criteria scoring above 90% (entries dated and legibility). Following the implementation of an updated admission proforma and education on documentation; only 5 of the 17 admission criteria scored 90% or above. However, 46% of pages had the correct patient identification details on admission. On subsequent ward entries, 7 out of the 8 sections had improved, with 62% of notes in chronological order. Furthermore, 4 out of the 8 documentation criteria scored above 90%. Informing staff on correct documentation helped improve doctors’ entries in patients’ notes. Improvements in the admission proforma need to be made to help meet record-keeping standards.

Although being one of the most well-known animal groups, functional and constructional aspects of scorpions and especially of their tail (metasoma) have so far been overlooked. This tail represents a special construction, as it consists of five tube-shaped segments made up of strong cuticle, which are movable against each other and thus manoeuvre the notorious stinger both quickly and very precisely in space. This high mobility of an exoskeletal structure can be attributed to the connection between the segments described here for the first time. This joint allows for the twisting and bending at the same time in a single, simple construction: adjoining metasomal segments each possess an almost circular opening posteriorly, where the next segment is lodged. Anteriorly, these segments possess two saddle-like protrusions laterally, which are able to rotate in two directions on the rim of the posterior circular opening of the previous segment allowing for twisting and bending. The metasomal joint is particularly noteworthy since its mechanism can be compared to that of arthropod appendages. The scorpion metasoma is actually the only known case in Chelicerata, in which an entire body section has been modified to perform tasks similar to that of an appendage while containing digestive organs. The joint mechanism can also inspire technical applications, for instance in robotics.

This study wanted to describe school management during completion and completion at Al Wildan Islamic Boarding School. This type of qualitative research with descriptive methods. The research objects are the Principal and Director of Education, the curriculum section, the personnel section, the infrastructure section, the student body section, the public relations section, the finance section, and the administration section. Researchers used methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data data in the form of data data. The method of data analysis includes 14 activities: first, data collection and data reduction, Second, data in the form of narrative. Third, the withdrawal of conclusions. The results of the research shown Al Wildan boarding school has not been put to good use. The integration is seen in activity programs and learning programs. Management here is categorized into 7 types namely: curriculum management, personnel, students, infrastructure, finance, public relations, and special services. So, between the management in the school and in boarding are interrelated. Furthermore, according to the results of a study done at Tangerang Al Wildan Islamic Boarding School using TQM techniques. The TQM that has been implemented is running well. This is evidenced through an explanation of the terms of the TQM implementation that has been included. As a commitment of the principal, have the vision, mission, and goals of the school, benefit from its success, have published influence, and a board of directors.

Accurately quantifying the aerodynamic forces acting on vehicles and long-span bridges is critical for assessing the safety of moving vehicles on bridges which are subjected to strong wind. It is necessary to consider the aerodynamic interference between vehicles and the bridge, especially for this with the bluff body section and wind barriers. However, very few investigations have been carried out to find aerodynamic coefficients of vehicles on a bridge with the bluff body section and considering the effect of wind barrier. This article therefore carried out wind tunnel tests to determine aerodynamic coefficients of container truck on a bridge with a π-cross section and wind barriers. The influence of vehicle position in different road lanes of the bridge deck and the aerodynamic interference between vehicles on the aerodynamic characteristics of the vehicle and the bridge are investigated. Different heights and ventilation ratios of wind barrier are taken into consideration to examine variations of aerodynamic coefficients with different wind barriers. Furthermore, the change mechanism in the aerodynamic coefficients of the vehicles is observed by analyzing the wind pressure distribution on the surface of the vehicles. The test results show that the different lane locations of the vehicle affect the aerodynamic coefficients significantly, as well as the aerodynamic interference between vehicles with transverse arrangement or longitudinal arrangement, especially for the side force coefficient. The existence of wind barrier reduces the side force coefficients of the vehicle remarkably. Such effects also vary with the ventilation ratio and height of wind barrier.

This volume provides a state-of-the-art, comprehensive, research-based resource that addresses the breadth of innovative theoretical concepts and related practice in positive ways of living in the body, while it also sets agendas for further expansion. This introduction first defines the core domains that represent positive ways of living in the body: positive body image and positive embodiment. Next, it provides evidence that studying these domains offers a unique perspective that extends beyond what is known about negative body image. It then explicates the points of convergence and divergence between positive body image and embodiment. It ends with an overview of the three sections of the volume: the varied constructs that represent positive ways of living in the body (Section I), environmental factors that nurture these constructs as protective factors for well-being (Section II), and interventions to cultivate positive body image and positive embodiment (Section III).

In the last 20 years, a robust experimental paradigm has emerged for studying the structure of bodily experience, focusing primarily on what it is to experience one’s body as one’s own. The initial impetus came from the rubber hand illusion (RHI) first demonstrated by Botvinick and Cohen, subsequently extended by various researchers to generate illusions of ownership at the level of the body as a whole. This paper identifies some problems with how ownership is discussed in the context of bodily illusions, and then shows how those problems can be addressed through a model of the experienced space of the body. Section 1 briefly reviews the bodily illusions literature and its significance for cognitive science and philosophy. Section 2 expresses reservations with the concept of ownership in terms of which the RHI and other illusions are standardly framed. I offer three hypotheses for the source of our putative “sense of ownership”. The main body of the paper focuses on the third hypothesis, which is that judgments of ownership are grounded in the distinctive way that we experience the space of the body.

In order to construct a micro power generation system using a piezo-electric element, power generation was tried using excitation oscillation of the bluff cylinder by the vortex shedding from the bluff cylinder. The bluff cylinder consists of a board spring section in which the piezo-electric element was attached, and a body section. The bluff cylinder was inserted into the water flow, the shape and the submersion depth of the bluff cylinder, and the flow velocity were varied, and the power generation characteristic was investigated. As a result, it was found that it can generate electricity by vortex excitation. It was found that the length and the submersion depth of the body section influence power generation. It was shown that the power generation characteristic changes with cross-sectional shape of the bluff cylinder. The most suitable state was the case where the submersion depth was set to 140 mm with a circular cylinder with a span length of 250 mm. It is important to choose the power generation object which suited the use purpose.
