Background: Hamstring muscle injuries are a common occurrence in a wide range of sprint-based sports which accounts about 13-15% of injuries in football players. The predisposing factors for it are poor hamstring flexibility & neural tension. Epidemiological research has cited reduced flexibility as an etiological factor in acute muscle strain injury and can influence functional performance. To prevent hamstring muscle injury, routine traditional intervention is used. Neural mobilization has been an emerging technique but its research on sports field is very limited. Thus, the need of the study was to examine the immediate effect of neural mobilization on hamstring flexibility and Functional performance using this new technique and also to prevent/decrease the risk of hamstring muscle injury. To Aim: evaluate the immediate effect of Sciatic Neural Mobilization technique on Hamstring Flexibility and Functional Performance among Football Players in Vadodara. Methodology: 48 Male Football Players who met the Inclusion Criteria were recruited from Baroda Football Academy (BFA) and Swarnim Gujarat Sports University (SGSU). There was a short session of 3 minutes warm up. The Baseline and post-intervention data collection was done in a sequential order (Bilateral Hamstring Flexibility, Vertical jump test, Four-Line Sprint Test) in which in between Vertical jump & Four-Line Sprint Test 5 minutes break was provided to avoid fatigue. Following 5 minutes break, Sciatic neural sliding mobilization was given for bilateral lower limb to participants by physiotherapist. The Data were analyzed using Result: Paired t- Test, and there was statistically significant improvement in all the three outcome measures (P = < 0.001) Conclusion: The present study showed that sciatic neural mobilization had a Positive effect on hamstring flexibility and functional performance among Football Players in Vadodara.

Introduction Alport syndrome (AS) is a hereditary disease of the basement membranes caused by mutations in type IV collagen. This disease is characterized by the presence of progressive hereditary nephropathy associated with sensory deafness, as well as ocular lesions. AS has an incidence of 1 in every 50,000 live births, constituting 1 to 2% of the cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in Europe and 3% of CKD in the American pediatric population; it is considered to be the cause of terminal uremia in 0.6 to 4.6% of terminal patients in the United States and Europe. At the moment there is no casuistry in this regard in Ecuador. At present there is no specific treatment for Alport Syndrome, however the drugs Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitors (ACEI) and angiotensin II receptor antagonists (ARBs) have demonstrated efficacy and safety over blocking the system. renin angiotensin aldosterone, thus reducing the presence of proteinuria and slowing the deterioration of CKD. Case description A 28-year-old male patient with a personal history of HT and 6-member SA relatives: 2 nephews, 1 brother and 3 carrier nieces. The physical examination revealed the presence of moderate bilateral hearing loss. He presents kidney disease from the age of 10 without adequate control. Alport Syndrome was diagnosed in 2012 by means of a renal biopsy, evidence of hematuria and by family history. He is currently receiving Hemodialysis treatment in a daily short session modality, which consists of 5 weekly sessions from Monday to Friday of 2 hours each; he is kept under hypotensive treatment of 10mg QD of Amlodipine (Calcium Channel Blocker), and 10mg BID of Carvedilol (Beta Blocker), together with 12.5mg BID of Losartan (Angiotensin II Receptor Antagonist), The patient was followed up throughout the year 2020 until January 2021, calculating the Glomerular Filtration Rate month by month to be able to show whether there is a significant progressive deterioration of his residual kidney function. Conclusion It is mentioned that the residual renal function has not been affected thanks to the control of the Arterial Hypertension of the patient where an ARA II drug (Losartan) is added, which slows the progressive renal deterioration that is typical of Alport Syndrome. The incorporation of the patient to the modality of daily short session of hemodialysis has helped to have a compensation of the renal function, obtaining a continuous clearance, resembling the function of a healthy kidney as closely as possible. In order for a hemodialysis treatment to have better results compensating for residual renal function, consecutive and longer sessions should be established, however this is a complicated issue depending on the availability of time and tolerance of the patient.

The outbreak of Covid-19 has changed education, including the mechanism of delivery of gross pathology laboratories. Herein, we describe how we revised our preclinical gross pathology lab to a flipped model to fit with COVID-19 regulations. A series of short, session objective-driven videos are made available online. Students are expected to watch the videos before coming to the hands-on lab. Groups of 2 students enter the gross lab on a timed basis and rotate through a series of stations. At each station, students examine gross pathology specimens while answering questions designed to apply the clinical correlation of pathophysiology and heighten observational skills. One or 2 pathologists are available throughout the lab session to address the questions from the students. The design of this laboratory exercise maintains appropriate distancing and hygiene in the time of COVID-19. The laboratory rooms are mapped to set up an appropriate number of timed stations. Flow-through of the rooms is unidirectional. Comparing with the traditional show-and-tell of teaching gross pathology, the renovated flipped model is genuinely student-centered and focuses on active learning. Holding the specimen in their hands, students learn from discovery as they are completely engaged by exploring the specimen and deriving answers themselves. The flipped learning gross pathology method has been very well received and evaluated highly by both faculty and students.

Background: The acceptance for PPIUCD in our country, especially in rural areas is very low despite all the efforts. Counselling during the antenatal visits may play a vital role in improving the acceptance of PPIUCD. Objective of this study was to assess the factors associated with the acceptability of immediate PPIUCD insertion in women; counselled during antenatal and postpartum period; according to their sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics, and future pregnancy desires. Methods: One-year prospective study carried out in the department of obstetrics and gynecology, S. S. Medical College Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India. a total of 4850 women were counselled for PPIUCD insertion; 2540 during their antenatal visits, and 2310 during postpartum period who visited in study centre for first time and their follow up was done. Chi square tests were applied to compare proportions. Results: After antenatal counselling in 2540 women, (with multiple counselling sessions) about half of the women gave verbal acceptance for PPIUCD. However, during postpartum counselling in 2310 women, (where only single short session of counselling could be done) majority of the women declined (80.9%) for PPIUCD insertion with only about a fifth (19.1%) of the women giving verbal acceptance. Women who had antenatal counselling one third of them had PPIUCD insertion. In the postpartum counselling group, a meagre 15.1% women had PPIUCD insertion. Conclusions: Counselling during antenatal and postpartum period is the key to improve the awareness and acceptance of PPIUCD in our community. Multiple counselling sessions during antenatal visits make it easier for the women to slowly understand the process and accept PPIUCD as compared to the short counseling during postpartum period.

Abstract Producing a meaningful written discourse in a foreign language requires a high cognitive effort of EFL learners. They face challenges caused by L2 word or grammar-related difficulties, and also by the L2 genre and genre conventions that may be quite different from what they experienced in their L1. The present study focusses on the support offered to Vietnamese L2 writers to overcome these hindrances. An intensive four-week writing intervention was designed and tested to examine whether encouraging genre awareness via a short session of sample text analysis could empower students to conduct effective brainstorming for argumentative writing. In a pre-test post-test control group design with switching replications, with 66 EFL intermediate undergraduate participants, the study obtained four indicators of L2 argumentative writing quality: idea generation, productivity, global text quality and self-efficacy. The results showed that participants integrated the sample text analysis into the idea generation stage. They created significantly longer self-expressive free writing texts, perceived the generated ideas as more useful, and used more of these ideas in their argumentative texts composition, compared to students from the control condition (with teacher instruction only). No treatment effects were found for productivity, global quality of final text, and self-efficacy. Students in both control and treatment conditions generally showed a significant improvement on these variables.
