This research note intends, first, to provide a clear exposition of“meaningless nonsense”, a philosophical concept propoundedby Japanese philosopher Masaya Chiba, and, second, to indicateits potential to broaden and deepen one’s perspective. Toachieve the aims, the discussion is conducted in the followingorder: after an introduction which succinctly reviews previousstudies of Chiba’s thought, the first part elucidates the precisecontext in which “meaningless nonsense” was invented, andclarifies that the neologism, as an uncountable, stands for beingunambiguously noninterpretable and, as a countable, means anobject as that which exists in such a state; thereupon, the secondpart presents a hypothesis that one could innovate one’sworldview by regarding everything as a “meaningless nonsense”because it enables one to deem an object as a triplex entity—as afinitely significant being, as a potentially infinitely polysemicexistence, and as an unambiguously noninterpretable body.

This article discusses the history of modern education in developing countries and attempts to look at Public Health (PH) education and curriculum from a Muslim and postcolonial perspective. It argues that, since modern PH pedagogical practices in Muslim countries are derived almost entirely from the western educational model and paradigm, they need reconstruction mainly for compatibility and relevance checks. The reconstruction of PH that this paper proposes aims at complementing and enriching the existing syllabi and involves three stages: fundamental, intermediate and advanced. In the first stage, students are equipped with a strong foundation of western and Islamic philosophies; the second one involves the incorporation of Islamic principles into the existing PH curriculum; while the third entails a critical analysis and deconstruction of some PH concepts and approaches in order to nurture students’ creativity in solving complex, emerging problems in the light of Islamic teachings as well as the need of Muslim sociocultural settings.

The COVID-19 pandemic has engendered a new era throughout the globe in which online food delivery apps have become a significant aspect of an individual's everyday life. This study intends to probe into the nature and patterns of consumer behavior with regard to using online food delivery services during the pandemic. While most of the existing studies focus on the general aspects of consumer behavior regarding food delivery apps, this paper aims to understand what factors motivated consumers in Bangladesh to behave in certain patterns while deciding to or not to avail app-based food delivery services during a major global crisis. Data have been collected from both primary and secondary sources, with 552 participants responding to a structured questionnaire. The study revealed that a moderately large group of people used food delivery apps, especially between June and August, by placing their trust in the food delivery companies, the restaurants and the deliverymen while the rest of the population was not as confident. The minds of the second group of consumers were heavily shrouded in uncertainty regarding whether the deliverymen, restaurants or delivery companies could be trusted with following all the required safety precautions while providing their service. In future, the findings of this study will, therefore, help the food delivery companies and the restaurants to understand the importance of adopting and following stricter health and safety measures to avoid losing business during a global pandemic.

The comprehensiveness of the meaning is the most important phenomenon of the Arabic language and the most important characteristics that distinguishes the Arabic language from other languages. It is widely used in Arabic language in general, and in the verses of the Qur’an in particular. This article deals with this phenomenon, namely: the use of words to denote more than the original meaning, it means that these words bear or contain more than one meaning, instead, the speaker can expand the meanings of the words by using less words and he can achieve his purpose easily and conveniently without any lacking and defect. This method constantly used in the Holy Qur’an and in the Arabic poetry and prose. This phenomenon is related to the different linguistic and grammatical aspects, such as: similarity of words, the combination of different forms of words which are different in significance, and refrain from expressions, deletions, inclusion and providing before and after behind, and common forms and so on. The interpreters, linguists, grammatists and rhetorician followed this, and gave more care in it which is not hidden in the rhetorical expression, especially in the Qur’anic expressions. So, the function of this unique characteristic of the language becomes clear in this study.
