Migration is defined as the permanent change in an individual’s usual residence. Forecasting migration is an important requisite for population forecasts or for planning in fields that depend on the future size and structure of the population, such as economics, epidemiology, social insurance, or infrastructure. As migration is the most volatile of all demographic components, its modeling is especially difficult. International migration can be modeled and forecast very differently; users should be familiar with the flaws and strengths of these different approaches.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the way that medical care is delivered. To minimise hospital attendance by both patients and staff, remote clinics, meetings and investigations have been used. Technologies including hand-held ECG monitoring using smartphones, patch ECG monitoring and sending out conventional Holter monitors have aided remote investigations. Platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom have allowed remote multidisciplinary meetings to be delivered effectively. The use of phone consultations has allowed outpatient care to continue despite the pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a radical, and probably permanent, change in the way that outpatient care is delivered. Previous experience in remote review and the available technologies for monitoring have allowed the majority of outpatient care to be conducted without obviously compromising quality or safety.

This text proposes a reflection on art education, more specifically on plastic and visual expression and some of its main problems at a theoretical and practical level. Starting by analyzing the path of teaching and learning throughout history, we question today, its practices, between traditional teaching and the need to find alternative paths, appropriate to a world in permanent change. We try to understand the conception of art from which we started and its importance in educational practices, as well as the influence of the philosophical conception of the human being by teachers and educators, regarding the way they approach the educational proposals they develop.

Plastic deformation is a permanent deformation that occurs in steel, even though the load causing the deformation is removed. It is widely used to change the shape of steel permanently without adding or reducing the chemical composition of the steel. This permanent change in shape is followed by a change in the shape or phase of the microstructure of the steel. Several types of loading on plastic deformation are Pull (drawing), Stamping and Curling, which are widely used to change the shape of a plate to a curve or a circle.

The Prophet (SAAS) was the best guide at all times who knew how to address the hearts and make them think, so he has made a permanent change in their behavior through the best educational methods. The aim and objective of the present research is to draw some salient features of Hadrat Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah (SAAS) in imparting education and good manners to his followers as well as presenting of some aspects of his methodology of gesture and posture to help sure and clear understanding, such as pointing fingers, beckoning with one or both hands, alluding with gravel and stick, drawing sign on the ground, displaying figures, hinting with dolls and various other things. Point out certain important methodology of teaching wisdom and training good manners by means of his own behavior, the Prophetic Sunnah. Discourse on educational principles derived from his fragrant lifestyle. Clarifying the educational methods used by the Prophet (SAAS) in his upbringing to his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, through his own lesson and conduct. Presenting a proposed scenario to benefit from the methods of the Prophet (SAAS) in education.

European Union (EU) is a supra-ideological construct in permanent change. Changing times bring the European External Action Service (EEAS) to its cultural strategy. EU external cultural strategy with the complexity of political and social realities defines the two main steps followed in this study: a) EU intercultural strategy analysis, and b) the role and the place of EU Delegations (EU Dels) and the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC). The basis of the analysis is the qualitative approach. It analyses various institutional manifestations of power and status discrepancies in the EU on a macro and micro institutional level. How does the EU manage to communicate its values and identity in a context of potential cultural and ideological differences? Does ”wanting to understand the other” seem neglected, whereas ”wanting to get understood“ seems to have become an EU intercultural attitude driver? The aim of this paper is to identify the process and relevance of EU cultural synergies and its external intercultural image through various involved actors.

Abstract: Learning is a relatively permanent change in behavior or potential behavior as a result of experience. Learning is the interaction between stimulus and response. These issues are very useful when reviewed as follows: What is the meaning of Learning and Teaching? What are the methods for improving the Quality of Learning and Teaching? How to Improve the Quality of Learning and Teaching through an Efficient Curriculum Model? The answers to the problems are: (1) the notion of learning and teaching is a different concept even though it is a process of change in the learning structure, which involves teachers, students and educational infrastructure. (2) methods to improve the quality of learning and teaching are to improve the quality are: communication of learning and teaching, collaboration, and developing various forms of learning. (3) improving the quality of learning and teaching through efficient curriculum models are: the Ralp W. Tyler curriculum model, the Hilda Taba curriculum model, the Peter Oliva curriculum model, or the Muray Print curriculum model.

Aims/Objectives/BackgroundVenepuncture and PVC insertion are common procedures in Children’s ED and often include blood cultures. Opening a universal dressing pack (udp) including a plastic tray, sterile swabs, gloves and 2 plastic sterile field drapes (sfd) is common practice. Our department was making a huge spend on udp’s. We aimed to determine if this was necessary and if we could reduce our plastic waste.Methods/DesignA sample of 8 doctors across all grades demonstrated their set up for both procedures. We replaced udp in the IV trollies with x2 sfd pack (sfdp). Information was disseminated via weekly staff brief. Trollies are restocked each night using attached flashcards which were updated appropriately. The use and costs of dressing packs in ED was determined for April-June 2019. We planned to compare this for April-June 2020.Results/ConclusionsAll clinicians were opening a dressing pack for procedures but 87.5% only used the sfd and swabs. 100% discarded gloves due to inappropriate size and 100% discarded the tray. All staff adopted the new equipment with no problems identified. 3500 udps were being used in dept in 3 months. Udp v sfdp per item costs 32p v 8p, weight 65 g v 30 g. Due to CoVID-19 pandemic the number of ED attendances significantly reduced therefore costs were based on 2019 usage. In 3 months switching from udp to sfd would save £840 and 122.5 kg of refuse weight. Volumes of stocks were reduced from 0.05 m2 to 0.01 m2 for 50 udp v 50 sfdp which aids storage and restocking of IV trollies releasing staff time.We demonstrated a significant reduction in unnecessary plastic waste while also reducing costs and need for storage and restocking whilst maintaining safe practice. This has been rolled out in the neighbouring Clinical Decision Unit with anticipation of being a permanent change in both areas.

Introduction and Hypothesis: Acute kidney injury (AKI), even if renal function returns to normal, is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. We have developed a novel, mouse model that allows investigation into the mechanism of this clinical scenario. We hypothesized that AKI, particular at a severe level, may result in a permanent change to the vasculature that would promote atherosclerotic lesions. Methods and Results: AKI was induced by clamping the bilateral renal vessels of male, C57/BL mice for 28-30 minutes. The creatinine (Cr) was measured two days later to determine the severity of the AKI. An increase in the Cr of at least three-fold, was defined as severe damage, corresponding to Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) AKI Stage 3. If the Cr increased less than three times, this was defined as mild/moderate AKI. Ten weeks after AKI, the Cr was measured to determine if renal function returned to baseline and the femoral artery was injured by repeated introduction of a guidewire. After four weeks, the animals were sacrificed and the neointima lesions were analyzed. Immunohistochemistry for smooth muscle myosin heavy chain revealed that the neointima was mostly composed of smooth muscle cells. The re-endothelialization was almost complete, as determined by anti-CD31 staining. More interestingly, the narrowing rate of the injured artery in animals who suffered severe AKI was higher than in the mild/moderate AKI animals (53.2% vs 27.2%; P= 0.04). There is no difference between the sham-AKI animals and the mild/moderate AKI animals (34.9 % vs 27.2%, see picture). Conclusions: Severe AKI induces a permanent change to the vasculature and/or the immune cells that hastens the development of neointima even after renal function recovers. This work has implications for the development of human atherosclerosis in the clinical setting after AKI. Potential mechanisms for this increased propensity will be discussed.
