Regional development is a field of research and a discipline of study that transcends several fields of social sciences, and can be studied by students in the fields of administrative, political, economic, social and humanistic sciences and others that include this subject in the curriculum. Regional development is also an attribute of public administration in all Member States of the European Union, as well as outside Europe, with ministries dedicated to implementing balanced regional development policies. Therefore, the book written by the author Daniela Antonescu, “Dezvoltarea regională. Teorie și practică” [Regional development. theory and practice], published by Lumen Publishing House in Iași, Romania, in 2019, who I consider a great specialist in this field (as she is the organizer of a conference on this topic, that attracts specialists from Romania and abroad), addresses a broad public of readers: both researchers and teachers concerned with development issues, as well as civil servants, members of national governments or parliaments, MEPs, members of other international fora, concerned with regional development, which includes not only the region as a territory but also subdivisions at local level: county, municipality / city, commune, village, on a case-by-case basis.

Romania's accession to the EU depended largely on the ability of Romanian public authorities to implement reforms among public organizations in the country. Globally, however, a successful public administration has become a key factor in determining a nation's competitive advantage. The purpose of this article is to emphasize the efforts of the Romanian public administration to submit to the process of administrative reform and as a consequence to contribute to the creation of an administrative reform strategy based on which Romanian public organizations can be reformed.

Due to the diversification of the problems faced by teachers, especially in the relationship with students and in the relationship with the education system, maintaining the professional motivation of teachers has become increasingly difficult. The quality of education is the result of the interdependent relationship between motivation and the success of the teaching-learning-assessment process. The issue of performance is at the center of debate today as a result of new changes in education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Educational performance is dependent on a multitude of factors, among which we mention: the teacher (professional training, motivation), leadership and school management that can contribute to increasing performance by supporting motivation and recognizing the teacher's effort. In this context, the education system must demonstrate its ability to provide quality pedagogical facts and processes capable of meeting the requirements of productivity, innovation and technological development imposed by current changes. That said, a new approach is needed in terms of managing school institutions and organizations, namely a new type of manager, a true leader who will focus on achieving the highest organizational performance that will automatically reflect on the quality of education. Motivation can be the essence of high performance because decreased motivation leads to less and less involvement and reduced performance in the workplace.

Definitely the title of the volume ”Bărbatul și femeia. imaginea unei polemici cu privire la echitatea de gen” [The Man and the Woman. The Image of a Controversy Regarding Gender Equity], which is authored by Iulian Apostu and Cristina Georgiana Petrescu, published by Lumen Publishing House in Iași, Romania, in 2017, would make us think of a whole series of statements full of flavor and candor about social reality and about the eternal contradiction between man and woman, but no, the book is not about conflict, vanity, quarrels. It is about the essence of men's coexistence with women, about egalitarianism explained with charm and attention to detail. In the 157 pages you can't help but find yourself, it's impossible not to empathize with the authors and you end up with some passages that you might use in order to enter into a dialogue with your own person and you don't know why. And the answer, of course, also comes from the pages of the book, which through the structure of the chapters takes the topics one by one, fixes them, capitalizes on them and places them in contexts that you identify with without doubt and are topical in today's society.

In the current context generated by the pandemic crisis, even the most profitable of professional sports have suffered huge losses. The very future existence of professional sport is threatened from a financial point of view, and after the end of the pandemic crisis there will certainly be voices that will call into question the profitability, if not the whole sustainability of professional sports. That is why managers need to rethink the importance of sports and the presentation of the positive effects it can have, so as to increase the interest and involvement of all stakeholders. This article is designed to support managers so as they can emphasize the importance of sports in the new global context from the perspective of sustainability.
