Standard Indonesian has several unique word formations, such as affixation. Some studies discuss about this patterning, like Sato in 2010, who came up with the prefixation meN-, nonetheless, the analysis is not quite precise, where the actual form of the prefix is me-, which then experience automatic phonological process by the surrounding sound(s), and subsequently the base form me- will then be conjugated in order to match to the root. Additionally, this paper would also reveal the genuine form of the other prefixes in Standard Indonesian, including any possible phonological changes according to the sounds circumstance. Moreover, the discussion will be extended under the principles of syntax-morphology parameter, exactly in the phenomenon of successive cyclicity, which particularly involves wh and NP movement.

‘No Woman, No Cry’ is one of Bob Marley’s popular songs besides ‘I Shot the Sherriff,’ ‘One Love,’ ‘Is This Love,’ and ‘Three Little Birds.’ This song is worth studied since it often creates a sense of dualism and ambiguous in the meaning among fans especially the non-Jamaican audience. Despite the fact that the language of the lyric is clear but in order to have an in-depth understanding one needs to have a fit and proper approach. This is because of the locality of the context through language and cultural convention. Therefore in this research the writer offers an approach through the lense of sociology of literature which emphasize the knowledge of biography and socio-history. This approach is being conducted first by analysis of the text through heurestic and hermeneutic method. Heurestic is the first reading process that aims at giving meaning to the text based on the convention of language structures. While hermeneutic is the process of interpreting and forseeing the implied meaning of the text using all sources of knowledge. This second step can be fulfilled if the interpreter have an adequate biographical and socio-historical knowledge about the writer/author. This is in line to Hypolite Taine theory of race, moment and millieu. That a literary text is a depiction of reality from a certain community in a certain moment and millieu or circumtance.

Standard Indonesian/Malay, Melayu Papua (Papuan Malay) and Ambai are Austronesian languages. Regarding Reduplication in three languages, it shows that reduplication occurs in noun, verb, adjective, adverb and numeral. The evidence shows that reduplication in numerals is only found in two languages; Standard Indonesian/Malay and Papuan Malay. Unlike Standard Indonesian and Ambai, Papuan Malay has three forms of reduplication: (1) full reduplication, (2) altered reduplication and (3) partial reduplication. As a result, reduplication of three languages shows that phonologically they differ in reduplication forms whereas in Optimality Theory (OT) analysis, these three languages have the same constraint; FR>>Red=Ft.
