The introduction and rapid growth of mobile learning applications (m-learning apps) has improved the role of teachers in facilitating the learning process especially among children. The learning experiences of children are enhanced and enriched with the use of m-learning apps for children. There are several m-learning apps developed for children in the market today, however, some of these apps do not succinctly support and adequately assist in the learning process and educational endeavors and quest of these young minds. In this paper, a systematic review of literature was conducted to assess past research and studies on usability dimensions and sub-dimensions utilized in evaluating children’s m-learning apps. The systematic literature review consisted of the following approach: the definition of search strategy, selection of primary studies, data extraction, and implementation of synthesis strategy and lastly, the presentation of findings. The result of the review reveals that effectiveness, efficiency, learnability, and user satisfaction (with their corresponding sub-dimensions) were the top four usability dimensions used in the evaluation of m-learning apps for children. In addition, the works reviewed showed that usability evaluation is prominent only during the implementation phase of the applications’ development.

With the increasing use of e-business web sites, users are often asked to select a menu-item from a large numbers of options. In this research, the pull-down menu, fisheye menu and grid menu were tested to compare the performance time, error rate, user satisfaction, simplicity, user friendliness, usefulness, and overall user preference of each menu type. The grid menu was more efficient in selection speed than the pull-down and fisheye menus when the number of menu-items was 50 and 100. The time needed to choose a menu-item with a grid menu was less affected by the size of menu and the physical location of an item within a menu. The pull-down and the grid menus were considered to be more satisfactory, simple, user friendly, and useful than the fisheye menu. 42.3 percent of subjects indicated that the grid menu was their preferred selection tool among the menus. The grid menu is an efficient and robust alternative menu choice for small and middle size menu lists.

The skills held by information system professionals clearly impact the outcome of a project. However, the perceptions of just what skills are expected of information systems (IS) employees have not been found to be a reliable predictor of eventual success in the literature. Though relationships to success have been identified, the results broadly reported in the literature are often ambiguous or conflicting, presenting difficulties in developing predictive models of success. We examine the perceptions of IS managers and IS employees for technology management, interpersonal, and business skills to determine if their perceptions can serve to predict user satisfaction. Simple gap measures are dismissed as inadequate because weights on the individual expectations are not equal and predictive properties low. Exploratory results from polynomial regression models indicate that the problems in defining a predictive model extend beyond the weighting difficulties, as results differ by each skill type. Compound this with inherent problems in the selection of a success measure, and we only begin to understand the complexities in the relationships that may be required in an adequate predictive model relating skills to success.

There are various types of laptops that make consumers or prospective buyers have difficulty in making choices accurately and precisely. The K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) algorithm was chosen because the K-NN algorithm is a form of model that can help classify data based on the closest distance. This system is designed to help prospective buyers in choosing a laptop based on purchase objectives such as gaming, design, and office, price, also specifications regarding the desired laptop. This system helps provide a shadow or reference to users or prospective buyers in determining the selection of laptops as needed. Based on user satisfaction test, from testing carried out to 10 users. As a result, 8 out of 10 people answered with the answers agreeing with the results of the recommendations given, with the results of the percentage of satisfaction with the recommendations of 80%, therefore the recommendations of laptops made were declared successful

The aim of this study was to explore the requirements of the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology (MCAST) library users and to propose an adequate solution to their academic needs. The present study also examines the current scenario at MCAST in relation to the usage and awareness of e-resources. A quantitative research approach was adopted for this study with a survey as a research instrument. This paper is based on a previous investigation conducted to better understand user satisfaction and associated issues. Like in any other area, librarianship and innovation walk hand in hand. In this case, digitalisation can be seen as both a challenge and an opportunity. MCAST Library is no exception. Prior to 2020, there was already a demand for more electronic resources in response to the addition of new courses. A thorough search was then conducted by the library team to find a solution to the users’ requirements. The selection of the ideal database was mainly based upon two variables. Firstly, its proper coverage of all the institutes was ensured. Secondly, the presence of new resources that are not duplicated in the databases available to MCAST at that time was confirmed. Following the analysis of feedback and comments obtained through an online questionnaire, the library focused on IEEE Xplore as it satisfied most of the requirements. Following the successful initial trial runs and the report of subsequent usage, the IEEE database was acquired. The provision of electronic resources indicates a boost in quality research amongst MCAST students, faculty, and researchers.

There has been a great deal of interest over the past 20 years in developing metrics and frameworks for evaluating and comparing the performance of spoken-language dialogue systems. One of the results of this interest is a potential general methodology, known as the PARADISE framework. This squib highlights some important issues concerning the application of PARADISE that have, up to now, not been sufficiently emphasized or have even been neglected by the dialogue-system community. These include considerations regarding the selection of appropriate regression parameters, normalization effects on the accuracy of the prediction, the influence of speech-recognition errors on the performance function, and the selection of an appropriate user-satisfaction measure. In addition, it gives the results of an evaluation of data from two Wizard-of-Oz experiments. These evaluations include different dependent variables and examination of individual user-satisfaction measures.

This paper describes about the design and development of UMN scholarship decision support system using Profile Matching method. At Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), there are scholarships for students in order to ease the burden of education costs. There are achievement scholarships, scholarships for students whose parents died, and non-academic scholarships. Decision support systems play an important role in the termination of the final decision, and therefore this application is built by implementing the method of Profile Matching to aid in the selection of the scholarship decisions for students whose parent were died and non-academic scholarship. Profile Matching is a method that aims at taking decisions by assuming that there is an ideal level of predictor variables that must be met by the subjects studied, instead of the minimum rate that must be met or passed. From the results, it can be concluded that this method successfully implemented into applications that can help in decision making process. Result of user satisfaction level for this application is 72%, the result of manual calculation with the application calculation results is not much different so that this application can assist in supporting the UMN scholarship decision. Index Terms— decision support system, non-academic scholarship, Profile Matching, scholarships for student whose parents died, UMN

The exterior weather data is a key factor in buildings’ behaviour and an important input of hygrothermal simulation, as tool to previously assess the buildings’ behaviour and achieve sustainable buildings with high degree of user satisfaction and lower energy costs. Hygrothermal simulations were conducted using a commercial hygrothermal simulation tool considering two reference years. The results were statistically compared. They showed that the weather data-gap filling to create the TRY did not influence considerably the outputs of the hygrothermal simulation, mostly because they were only used in the month selection of the TRY and not for numerical simulation purposes.
