Productive Indicators of Broiler Chickens Against the Background of the Combined Use of a Multi-enzyme Complex and Copper in the Form of Ultrafine Particles in the Diet

Abstract The aim of the study was to study the effect of a complex of a multienzyme feed additive (Axtra® XAR 102 TPT (Danisco Animal Nutrition) 0.05% of finished feed; I gr) and in combination with ultrafine particles (UFP) of Cu (1.25 mg / kg; II gr) on productivity and morphobiochemical parameters of blood of broiler chickens (BC). BC were divided into 3 groups (n = 15). The results showed that the combined use of the enzyme preparation (EP) and Cu UFPs has a greater effect on the increase in live weight [19.6% (P < 0.05)]. The introduction of only an EP into the diet has a lesser effect on the increase in live weight, which was 18.8% ahead of the control. In the experimental groups, there was an increase in the coefficient of digestibility of nutrients (P < 0.05). The addition of Cu UFPs increased the digestibility of crude fat [3.3% (P < 0.05)]. Analysis of metabolites in blood serum demonstrates the absence of the toxic effect of the introduced additives. There was a decrease in aspartate aminotransferase: in group I by 8.3%, in group II by 4.6% (P < 0.05). The composition of the lipid profile changed, stimulation of erythropoiesis and an increase in the amount of hemoglobin were registered both with joint and separate feeding of the EP and Cu UFPs. Thus, the introduction of just an EP reduced cholesterol levels by 10%, and in combination with Cu UFPs by 2.15%, triglycerides by 33.1% (P < 0.05). Thus, it was found that the combination of a multi-enzyme preparation and Cu UFPs has the potential to be used as a biologically active feed additive and causes an increase in the digestibility, and therefore, the productivity of BC. Enzyme supplementation in diets based on corn and soybean meal can improve the productive performance of broilers. Thus, we aimed to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of different levels of an enzyme complex consisting of phytase, protease, xylanase, ?-glucanase, cellulase, amylase, and pectinase, for diets based on corn and soybean meal, on the parameters of carcass yield and meat quality of broilers. Six hundred broiler chicks were used, and the animals were females with one day of age, from the Cobb 500 strain, and distributed in a completely randomized design, with five levels of inclusion of the enzyme complex (0, 100, 200, 300 and 400), and six repetitions, with twenty animals each. The carcass yield and meat quality were evaluated at 35 and 42 days of age. We evaluated the characteristics of weight loss by cooking (WLC), shear force (SF), water holding capacity (WHC), pH, lightness (L*) and color (a* and b*). The parameters of performance, carcass yield and carcass parts, and meat quality were not affected by the enzyme supplementation of diets fed to broiler chickens (P >0.05), except for the performance characteristics of the breast and the wings at 42 days of age (P < 0.05).

The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of Bacillus licheniformis and salinomycin supplementation in broiler diets as individual factors or in combination on the growth performance, GIT morphometry, and microbiota populations. Four hundred one-day-old Ross 308 chicks were randomly distributed to four dietary treatments (10 replicates, 10 birds each). The following treatments were applied: NC—no additives; NC + SAL—salinomycin addition (60 mg/kg diet), NC + PRO—B. licheniformis DSM 28710 preparation (1.6 × 109 CFU/kg; 500 mg/kg diet), and NC + SAL + PRO—combination of salinomycin and B. licheniformis. Probiotic administration resulted in improvement (p < 0.05) of the performance parameters, including body weight gain (1–10 d, and 11–22 d) and feed conversion ratio (11–22 d, 1–36 d). An interaction (p < 0.05) between experimental factors was observed in terms of lower pH values in the crop (tendency, p = 0.053) and ceca. Both factors lowered the alpha diversity and Enterobacteriaceae and promoted Bacillaceae communities in the jejunum (p < 0.05). Interactions were also observed in terms of reducing Clostridiaceae in the ceca. In conclusion, the combined use of B. licheniformis and salinomycin in broilers’ diets had beneficial effects.

Protein content and the ratio of its fractions were investigated in the serum of broiler chickens during the growing period with the addition of vitamins E and C to their ration. The investigations were performed in one of the farms in Lviv region on four groups of 100 broiler chickens in each, starting from 1- to 41-day-olds. Chickens in the control group received a standard ration, the first experimental diet with tocopherol acetate, the second experimental – ascorbic acid, and the third – a complex of these vitamins. Poultry research were conducted at different ages: 27-, 34-, and 41-day-olds. The content of common protein was determined in blood serum – biuret method and the range of soluble proteins – by vertical electrophoresis in plates of 7.5 % polyacrylamide gel. Conducted research have shown that the use of tocopherol acetate and ascorbic acid supplements to compound feed of broiler chickens caused a rise in serum total protein content. However, these changes were more pronounced in chickens with the combined use of vitamins E and C in all search periods (P < 0.05–0.01), and also in 11-day-old broilers (P < 0.05), who used ascorbic acid supplement. In the search of the ratio of protein fractions was ascertained an increase in the content of γ-globulin fraction in chickens from the search groups regarding controls at 11 and 27 days of age. Herewith the differences were likely to be in broiler chickens, who used the tocopherol acetate supplement. Instead, 11-day-old chicks in this group had a lower b-globulin fraction (P < 0.05). However, in the serum of chickens from the experimental groups regarding control at 41 days of age a significantly higher content of the α-globulin fraction was registered. In general, the results of the searches showed that additional introduction of tocopherol acetate and ascorbic acid to chickens ration has a stimulating influence on the processes of protein biosynthesis and immune function in the organism of chickens in the process of their growth. This influence was more expressed in chickens with the combined use of vitamins E and C.

With the increase in consumption of poultry products, the requirements for their quality, especially for nutritional and biological value, also increased. As the experience and scientific achievements of recent years shows, these indicators are quite manageable, that is, you can create products with predetermined properties. The aim was to study the combined use of chlortetracycline and Quercus cortex extract. The quantitative ratios of lipids and fatty acids in poultry meat are the main criteria of its quality, and fatty acids are of great importance. Together with essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, the composition and quantitative content of saturated fatty acids are of great importance in the muscle tissue, it plays an important role in providing the necessary ratio of unsaturated and saturated compounds. Under the influence of chlortetracycline and Quercus cortex extract, ambiguous changes in fatty acid composition are observed; primarily, it is due to changes in enzymatic complex of poultry digestive tract and changes in the intestinal microflora. Based on the conducted research, it can be concluded that fatty acid composition of broiler chickens can be corrected adding antibiotic in different ratios and concentrations together with Quercus cortex extract.

The parameters of performance, carcass yield and carcass parts, and meat quality were not affected by the enzyme supplementation of diets fed to broiler chickens (P>0.05), except for the performance characteristics of the breast and the wings at 42 days of age (P<0.05).

The effects of enzyme supplementation on the performance, yield, and blood profile of broilers fed corn and soybean diets from 1 to 42 days of age were evaluated. A total of 960 male broilers were used, distributed in a completely randomized design, with six treatments and eight replications. Two diets were used: a positive control formulated to meet the birds’ nutritional requirements (Diet 1) and a negative control diet with reduction of 150 kcal.kg-1 of metabolizable energy (Diet 2) and 12% amino acid in the initial phase and 18% during the growing and finishing phases. Further diets were based on the negative control with enzymes: enzyme complex 1, composed of 125 g ton-1 protease; enzyme complex 2, composed of 100 g ton-1 amylase, protease, and xylanase; enzyme complex 3, composed of 500 g ton-1 amylase, protease, and xylanase; and enzyme complex 4, composed of 125 g ton-1 protease and 500 g ton-1 beta-mannanase. Enzymatic supplementation did not improve performance during the initial and growing phases due to nutritional imbalance, resulting in the worst weight gain and feed conversion during the finishing phase. Carcass yield, leg yield, abdominal fat, and pancreas were altered by enzymatic supplementation. Triglyceride levels influenced abdominal fat deposition, and the serum levels of albumin and alanine aminotransferase were altered by enzymatic supplementation. Enzymatic supplementation was not effective in restoring broiler performance, carcass yield, and cuts, with changes in the serum biochemical profile of the broiler chickens.
