The subject of this research is the implementation of digital technologies in educational process of a university. The goal consists in studying the impact of digital technologies upon the students’ learning activities. The article presents the results of questionnaire-based survey among students by the three question pools. In the course of research, the author examines such aspects of the problem, as the positive and negative impact of technologies upon learning activities of the students of digital generation. Particular attention is given to consideration of students’ attitude on digitalization of higher education. The opinions of pedagogues on the results of conducted research are presented. The scientific novelty lies in mainstreaming the question on the negative impact of digital technologies upon learning activities of the modern generation of students that deserves special attention. On the background of common passion of the scholars of researchers and pedagogues for the ideas of digitalization of education, when digital technologies are viewed as virtually the key factor for modernization of educational process; second come the problems of growing pathological dependence of youth on digital technologies, undesired to switch to digitalized educational process to the disadvantage of communication in social networks and pleasant pastime online. The problem of the negative effect of digital technologies on learning activities must be recognized in order to find the ways for its solution.

In this paper the behaviors and tendencies in the use of digital technologies by university students are analyzed. After a short discussion of former studies and the presentation of the model for digital literacy structure and assessment in students attending compulsory school, the investigation carried out by the authors is described and the results obtained from the analysis of the university students’ answers is reported. The survey was submitted to 331 students in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Cassino, Italy, and the students’ answers show a contradictory reality: on one side, digital technologies are mainly used to communicate in social networks or to play music and movies, on another side it is evident the students’ interest for the most recent aspects of the application of digital technology and for the improvement in the quality of their use.

This chapter addresses two forces in contemporary societies. The first is that societies today are characterized by cultural and linguistic diversity and increasing human mobility. In this complex setting, language learning has acquired more significance, with the need to communicate worldwide. Secondly, our society is experiencing dramatic technological advancements, one of which pertains to online learning. In this era of ubiquitous learning, where the use of learning management systems, mobile applications, social networks, and other digital technologies can underpin learning, it is necessary to re-address language learning. This overview will categorize the types of online language learning tools and practices that are emerging and prevalent and it will analyze their instructional approaches in the use of the technology. Ιt will also focus on the digital learners that access them having as an ultimate goal to understand the characteristics and needs of the contemporary global, multilingual, and digital learners and how these can be addressed in the learning process.

From the onset of the digital dawn, visually constructed new communication technologies, in particular social networks, have occupied a significant place in the lives of children. With increasing compactness of digital technologies, its availability increased also and helped social networks to a central role in the lives of adults and children as well. The shrinking of technology enabled most families to afford a tablet for their children who used the technology for starting an active social network life. This process brought with it endless debates about the actual control conditions of the children's usage and those conditions that were advisable. This study utilized in-depth interviews with six parents of children in the 4-7 age group, consisting a focus group to define the motives of adults who enabled their children with access to “digital technologies” and “social networks.”

Chapter 6 examines how the insurgent landscape has been transformed by the digital revolution; how migrant disaporas and social networks have been brought closer together by digital technologies in the Information Age, and how social movements, once below the radar of states or emergent states, affect and outmaneuver slow-moving bureaucracies. This begs the question: is Propaganda of the Deed active or reactive, truly strategic or opportunistic? The answer lies closer to strategic opportunism, offering a strategy of fluidity able to capitalize on the switch from a one-to-many model of historic communications to a many-to-many model of contemporary communications. The transition to higher education can be problematic for some students as they adapt to institutional procedures and degree level working at the same time as developing new social networks. To help facilitate these complex transitions institutions are increasingly turning towards digital technologies to provide both flexible access to resources and improved communication. This paper outlines the key issues associated with students' initial transitions to higher education and explores the challenges faced by academics designing induction procedures and programmes. The emerging role of digital technologies in supporting students' transitions into Higher Education, against the backdrop of a changing digital landscape in one institution is discussed and an evaluation of the easystart induction programme at Manchester Metropolitan University presented as a case study.

Resumo: Este artigo objetiva caracterizar prováveis motivos e apontar algumas consequências da utilização exagerada da internet como veículo de agenciamento das subjetividades na atual cultura. Procura mostrar como as relações interpessoais e as formas de interagir se modificaram com o advento das tecnologias digitais, transformando de forma significativa a expressão das individualidades; como um sentimento de inadequação social pode facilmente levar à procura de uma forma de socialização mais fácil, através do espaço virtual, arcando, porém, com o risco de tornar o sujeito dependente das redes sociais. Reflete acerca da motivação que leva à superexposição dos sujeitos no cenário contemporâneo e as mudanças que tais comportamentos ocasionam nos relacionamentos sociais e afetivos.Palavras-chave: Internet. Psicanálise.Abstract: This article aims to characterize likely reasons and point out some consequences of excessive use of the internet as a vehicle for brokering of subjectivities in the current culture. It seeks to show how the interpersonal relations and ways to interact have changed with the advent of digital technologies, alteringconsiderably the expression of individuality; as a feeling of social inadequacy can easily lead to the search for a form of socializing easier, through the virtual space, bearing, however, with the risk of becoming dependent on the social networks. It reflects about the motivation that leads to the overexposure of the subjects in the contemporary setting and the modifications that these behaviors cause in social and affective relationships.Keywords: Internet. This book addresses Black culture, Web 2.0, and social networks from new methodological perspectives. Using critical technocultural discourse analysis, the chapters within examine Black-designed digital technologies, Black-authored websites, and Black-dominated social media services such as Black Twitter. Distributed Blackness also features an innovative theoretical approach to Black digital practice. The book uses libidinal economy to examine Black discourse and Black users from a joyful/surplus perspective, eschewing deficit models (including respectability politics) to better place online Blackness as a mode of existing in the “postpresent,” or a joyous disregard for modernity and capitalism. This approach also adds nuanced analysis to the energies powering Black online activism and Black identity.

The article presents the scientific results of research on the problem of using digital technologies in the process of forming students' intercultural communicative competence. Objective: to substantiate the possibilities of using digital technologies among students of a construction college for the formation of intercultural communicative competence. On the basis of an analytical review of the statistical data of Rosstat, to identify with the representatives of which countries students from the Samara region and Russia most of all have to communicate in the course of their studies and as a result of subsequent professional activities. Results of work. An analysis of Rosstat documents showed the largest migration flows from the CIS countries. In the structure of population growth in 2019, the leading places are occupied by Ukraine - an increase of 64.2 thousand people (23% of the total increase in migrants), Tajikistan - 48.4 thousand people (17%); Kazakhstan - 39.2 thousand people (14%). The rest of the world accounts for 10% of the migration increase. The share of foreign labor migrants is 3.1% of the Russian labor force. The share of migration growth in the Samara region due to the CIS countries is 97.9%. These facts indicate that among Russians, the main intercultural communications are carried out not with representatives of the far abroad, but with people from the CIS countries. However, the work on the formation of intercultural communicative competence in educational institutions is carried out mainly in the framework of teaching foreign languages and is aimed at cultures other than those with whom students most often have to deal with in their work. To resolve this contradiction, it is proposed to use the world of hobbies of modern adolescents - communication in social networks and computer games. It was found that among the surveyed college freshmen, 92% are registered on the social network VKontakte, 80% on Instagram, 37% on Facebook. Almost 70% of students spend more than two hours a day at social networks, and 78% play computer games.

As digital technologies advance, the digital world is integrated with the real one through various digital platforms. Digital transformation in organizations is essentially based on emerging technologies and social and digital platforms. The purpose of this study is to help organizations choose the appropriate platforms to interact with customers and participate in the digital world in accordance with the maturity they gain in using these digital technologies. The present research, by synthesizing empirical studies on the use of various social platforms in organizations, provides a conceptual map of the relationship between the platform type and the maturity stage of organizations. According to the findings of this study, general social networks are suitable platforms for organizations with the first-stage maturity characteristics. Various social networks and creativity works sharing sites were recognized as suitable for the second stage; and public blogs and educational materials sharing for the third stage. Microblogs, discussion forums, and business networking sites are also appropriate for organizations with the characteristics of stages four and five. Using the findings of this research, organizations will be able to identify a social platform appropriate to their stage of readiness and maturity and make the most out of its benefits.
