In the present study, a measurement tool was developed to determine the virtual identities of social network users, and the virtual identities of these social network users were examined with respect to gender, time spent on social networks, number of their social network profiles and visibility using the relational survey model. The study was carried out with a total of 671 social network users, 252 females and 419 males. The research data were collected using the Social Network Identity Management Scale developed within the scope of the study. The five-point Likert-type scale made up of four factors and 23 items was found to explain 55.29 % of the total variance (Cronbach Alpha =.93). At the end of the research process, a 23-item Social Network Identity Management Scale’s validity and reliability were confirmed. The finding obtained in the study demonstrated that the virtual identities of the users with more than one profile differed within the context of such sub-dimensions of the scale as liking and privacy. In addition, it was found that the changes in the virtual identities increased depending on the time spent on social networks.

This research is aimed to understand the risk perception of Merapi disaster in hazardous community, by viewing the contribution of social network centrality and social trust towards risk perception of natural disaster. Hypotheses in this research are; social network centrality (degree, closeness, betweenness, eigenvector centrality) and social trust which all together are able to predict Merapi’s disaster risk perception. This research was conducted at Dusun Gondoarum, Desa Wonokerto, Kecamatan Turi, Kabupaten Sleman, DIY, with 83 total respondents, research data revealed by psychological scale and name generator. Result of this research prove that social trust, centrality degree, centrality betweeness, centrality closeness, and centrality eigenvector all together are able to predict merapi’s disaster risk perception, with 30.9 % coefficient determination value (R2). Which mean that the research hypothesis is convicted. Two predictor which gave a big role towards natural disaster risk perception are social trust and eigenvector centrality with coefficient determination at 23.6%.

Empirical research suggests that given relatively similar illness contingencies, patients who cope successfully with serious illness have access to and use effectively social network support, believe events are to some extent within their control, perceive themselves to be effective, and employ an array of flexible coping strategies. Based on a selective literature review, the argument is made that more integrative conceptual frameworks are needed to advance theory and to enhance the applied value of research data. Clinical implications for assessment, intervention, and evaluation are set forth.

Abstract.,The paper aims to discuss the shading player called “network” of the globalized Islam behind formal Islamic educational institutions. Globalized Islam as Olivier Roy defines is an idea or movement that detach Islam from its geography or cultural territories. Examining alumnae of pesantren Gontor and their position over the contemporary discourse of Islam in Indonesia, the author found that networking with globalized Islam groups has strong influence on their world views. The mutual relationship between Gontor and globalized Islam networks has some impacts on its alumnae. Its exposure to more global Muslim world has prepared its alumnae embrace the globalized Islam identity.  More decisive factors are their networks during higher education period out of pesantren. The author uses life experiences as a student and alumni of Gontor as his main research data as well as social network observation. This paper moreover strengthened the existing previous researches that the globalization of Wahabism starting in the 1980s has been very effective in Indonesia. By penetrating the Islamic education institution networks, it has opened doors for more influence on the general mass of Indonesian Muslims key words: globalized Islam, pesantren, Gontor Abstrak., Artikel ini mendiskusikan fenomena “Global Islam” salah satu sumber ideologi radikal di Indonesia.
