Abstract Studies investigating the similarities and differences in traditional bullying and cyberbullying experiences have demonstrated considerable gender differences concerning its determinants. The aim of the present study was to provide further evidence for the differential role of determinants for males and females by investigating the moderating role of traditional bullying and anger rumination in the relationship of past cyberbullying victimization and recent cyberbullying perpetration in respect to gender. A total of 1500 Hungarian adolescents and adults (57.9% male, M age = 28.9 years, SD = 8.7) completed an online survey on bullying experiences. Results indicated that males were more likely than females to engage in cyberbullying when they had been previously bullied online. Furthermore, high anger rumination elevated the risk of perpetration among male cyberbullying victims, while repeated victimization in traditional bullying increased the risk of cyberbullying perpetration among females. These results underline the importance of considering gender differences in intervention efforts against bullying.

Since COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way people conduct things, including educational activities, online learning has become a necessity that schools must adopt. This study aims to analyze the relationship of various variables that affect the success of online learning in accounting subjects in vocational high. This study is a quantitative cross-sectional online survey with 308 respondents from 26 schools in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Data analysis was performed through regression analysis with moderating variables. It concluded that the success of online learning process as measured by Learning Satisfaction was influenced by Student Characteristics, Learning Accessibility, and Textbooks, while Multimedia Materials and other Text Materials did not have any effect. It further observed that teacher Support does not affect learning satisfaction but can moderate the relationship between student characteristics and textbook quality. This means that all related parties need to focus on changing students' mindset, improving the quality of textbooks, and increasing accessibility. On the other hand, to increase success, it is necessary to strengthen the role of teachers.


Cyberbullying is a growing phenomenon with many negative and long-term effects. Past literature has not been consistent in the findings with regard to the relationship between cyberbullying victimization and perpetration. The role of self-esteem in its interaction from both aspects of cyberbullying has also been inconclusive. This study therefore sought to examine the relationship between cyberbullying victimization, cyberbullying perpetration with self-esteem as its moderating factor. 120 participants (aged 18 to 25 years old) were recruited to complete the surveys comprising the Cyberbullying and Online Aggression Survey and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Hierarchical multiple regression was run to analyse the predictive relationship of the variables. One finding shows that cyberbullying victimization and cyberbullying perpetration have positive correlation which may explain the propagation of the vicious cycle. The other finding did not seem to highlight the role of self-esteem in mediating the perpetration and victimization of cyberbullying. This study nevertheless provides valuable insights to the nature of cyberbullying which can assist in the management of this pervasive social ill in community programmes.

Previous studies show that Perceived Effectiveness of Escrow Service (PEES) affects the relationship. In e-commerce, trust can be seen as a trust in the community of sellers and trust in intermediaries. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of PEES to moderate relationship between trust in intermediaries and repurchase intentions, and between trust in the community of sellers and repurchase intention. This research was administered to 138 respondents through online survey. The findings indicate that PEES moderates not only the relationship of trust in intermediaries and repurchase intentions, but also the relationship between trust in the community of sellers and repurchase intentions. Keywords: trust to community of seller; trust to intermediary; perceived effectiveness of escrow services; repurchase intentions; e-commerce ---------------------------------- Penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa Perceived Effectiveness of Escrow Service (PEES) mempengaruhi hubungan kepercayaan kepada komunitas penjual dan intensi pembelian kembali. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti peran moderasi PEES terhadap hubungan antara kepercayaan kepada perantara dan intensi pembelian kembali, serta kepercayaankepada komunitas penjual dan intensi pembelian kembali. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 138 responden melalui survei daring. Temuan dari hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa PEES memoderasi hubungan antara kepercayaan kepada perantara dan intensi pembelian kembali, serta kepercayaan kepada komunitas penjual dan intensi pembelian kembali.

One hundred and fifty-nine emerging adults (77 men, 82 women) completed an online survey evaluating consent and the acceptability of a sexual act in hypothetical scenarios which varied the response of the protagonist/victim and the length of the relationship. Judgments of the acceptability of sexual acts were strongly associated with judgments of consent. Judgments of consent and the acceptability, responsibility for and deserved-punishment for the sexual act differed depending on the victim responses and relationships lengths. Gender differences were most frequent in the conditions where the victim responded to sexual advances by freezing. Compared to women, men judged the freezing response to be more acceptable, and the perpetrator to be less responsible and less punish-worthy. In addition, men were less likely than women to label responses where the victim froze as rape, though they did indicate they were wrong.

This paper examined the relationship of materialism, depression and compulsive buying among university students. Moreover, it aimed to see the role of demographic variables in the relationship between these variables. Material Value Scale (Richins & Dawson, 1992), Compulsive Buying Scale (O’Guinn & Faber, 1989) and the subscale of depression of DASS (Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995) were used to measure materialism, compulsive buying and depression respectively. The sample comprised of 430 university students within the age range of 18 to 24 years (M = 21.55, S.D = 1.95) from five universities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. A significant positive relationship between depression and materialism was found. A significant difference between males and females on materialism and depression was found with males scoring significantly higher on both as compared to females. However, no significant difference was found between males and females compulsive buying. There was a significant difference among adolescents and adults on materialism with adults scoring higher as compared to adolescents, while no significant differences were found on depression and compulsive buying.

Online consumer reviews impact the traveller’s decision to book hotel online. The study examines the role of visual information and argument concreteness on the credibility of reviews and consequently on purchase intention. The study examines the effect of trust and perceived risk as mediators on the relationship of review credibility and purchase intention. An online survey was conducted on 310 travellers above 18 years. The data was analysed using PLS-SEM. Travellers believed visual information and argument concreteness of review enhances the review credibility. Traveller’s purchase intentions were influenced by the credibility of reviews. This relationship was partially mediated by trust but not by perceived risk. The research suggests that the elaborate travel reviews with visual elements that describe the location and surroundings of the hotel are considered to be more credible and develop a positive intention towards booking the hotel.

The scientific problem of economics “Managing the quality of human life” is formulated on the basis of artificial intelligence, algebra of logic and logical-probabilistic calculus. Managing the quality of human life is represented by managing the processes of his treatment, training and decision making. Events in these processes and the corresponding logical variables relate to the behavior of a person, other persons and infrastructure. The processes of the quality of human life are modeled, analyzed and managed with the participation of the person himself. Scenarios and structural, logical and probabilistic models of managing the quality of human life are given. Special software for quality management is described. The relationship of human quality of life and the digital economy is examined. We consider the role of public opinion in the management of the “bottom” based on the synthesis of many studies on the management of the economics and the state. The bottom management is also feedback from the top management.

This essay examines a polemic between two Baudelaire critics of the 1930s, Jean Cassou and Benjamin Fondane, which centered on the relationship of poetry to progressive politics and metaphysics. I argue that a return to Baudelaire's poetry can yield insight into what seems like an impasse in Cassou and Fondane. Baudelaire provides the possibility of realigning metaphysics and politics so that poetry has the potential to become the space in which we can begin to think the two of them together, as opposed to seeing them in unresolvable tension. Or rather, the tension that Baudelaire animates between the two allows us a new way of thinking about the role of esthetics in moments of political crisis. We can in some ways see Baudelaire as responding, avant la lettre, to two of his early twentieth-century readers who correctly perceived his work as the space that breathes a new urgency into the questions of how modern poetry relates to the world from which it springs and in which it intervenes.
