The intake of food may be an initiator of adverse reactions. Food intolerance is an abnormal non-immunological response of the organism to the ingestion of food or its components in a dosage normally tolerated. Despite the fact that food intolerance is spread throughout the world, its diagnosing is still difficult. Histamine intolerance (HIT) is the term for that type of food intolerance which includes a set of undesirable reactions as a result of accumulated or ingested histamine. Manifestations may be caused by various pathophysiological mechanisms or a combination of them. The problem with a “diagnosis” of HIT is precisely the inconstancy and variety of the manifestations in the same individual following similar stimuli. The diagnosing of HIT therefore requires a complex time-demanding multidisciplinary approach, including the systematic elimination of disorders with a similar manifestation of symptoms. Among therapeutic approaches, the gold standard is a low-histamine diet. A good response to such a diet is considered to be confirmation of HIT. Alongside the dietary measures, DAO supplementation supporting the degradation of ingested histamine may be considered as subsidiary treatment for individuals with intestinal DAO deficiency. If antihistamines are indicated, the treatment should be conscious and time-limited, while 2nd or 3rd generation of H1 antihistamines should take precedence.

AbstractSince their discovery in ancient China, fireworks rapidly spread throughout the world, where they have always been used to celebrate either popular or private events. Their use is nonetheless related to several risks, especially within production factories, since several injuries or even death can occur following an accidental ignition. In cases of major disasters related to fireworks explosions, stating the accidental or intentional nature of the event might prove challenging, thus raising the need of a multidisciplinary approach. In this regard, we here discuss the case of an accidental explosion that occurred in a fireworks production factory, accountable for five deaths and two hospitalisations.

The most terrible poverty is loneliness and feeling unloved (Mother Teresa). Swaziland is in the unenviable position of having the highest HIV infection rate in the world, with an adult prevalence rate of 42%. This is a national crisis which, in the Swaziland context, has led to feelings of severe hopelessness and rejection and which needs to be addressed through a multidisciplinary approach. The church is in the unique position to demonstrate the love and grace of God in the midst of this pandemic. A small congregation of the Swaziland Reformed Church situated in the southern Shiselweni district of the country decided to take up this challenge. This article showed what the effects could be when the church becomes a vessel of love and grace within the community.

The emphasis is on ecumenism and the environmental sphere in order to trace the relevance and development in the dynamics. During the writing of the article, the methodology of scientific objectivity, historicism and critical analysis of the elaborated sources, with methods: structural-functional (component analysis), comparative-historical (comparative), typological, was used. Theoretical developments in the fields of related disciplines are taken into account: religious studies, sociology, ecology, cultural studies, psychology, demography, pedagogy. This defined a multidisciplinary approach that allowed comprehensive and comprehensive coverage of the problem. The study analyzed the ecumenical activity of Metropolitan A. Sheptytsky, which was aimed at uniting all Christian denominations in Ukraine and the world into a single congregation of the Apostolic Church for the joint service of the Lord. The development of linguistics, a multidisciplinary approach to the coverage of linguistic phenomena have led to a change in the scientific paradigm – the discursive paradigm has come instead of text-centric one. In linguistics a philological discipline has been arised – discourse studies aimed at characterizing the speech communication of people in certain situations taking into account the unity of scientific approaches. The purpose of the article is to comprehend the author’s artistic discourse as a philosophical and humanitarian reality, to form a cognitive and pragmatic concept of artistic discourse. The polysemy of the term discourse makes it possible to use the concept of artistic discourse in two meanings – broad and narrow. Discourse1, or author's discourse, is a part of cultural space where semiotic units formed according to the laws of certain genres function, in which the author's knowledge, information, assessments, mentality as a representative of a certain sociocultural community are creatively and verbally reproduced and which have a pragmatic load. In a narrow sense discourse2 means a fragment of text (context). The cognitive aspect (knowledge, information, assessments, mentality in general) is realized in the plan of text – author, pragmatic – in the plane of text – reader, although we are aware that such a division is to some extent conditional. For effective analysis of artistic discourse in cognitive and pragmatic aspects we consider it`s necessary to enter into scientific circulation two abstract units – cognitema and pragmatema. Cognitema is a generalized unit in which a quantum of information about the world is realized (for example, thinking, color, mental state, etc.). Pragmatema is an abstract unit which has influence into the reader.

Some of the thinkers who emerged in the history of thought of Muslims complained of the low response of the Qur’an toward empirical reality and the needs ofcommunity. They were sure that it was because of the tradition of study of the Qur’an that Muslims developed until now is less dialogical approach in addressing the reality, and that the interpretation of studies so far is more dominated by the patterns offiqh, kalam, and mysticism, and only a little to do with the pattern of education. Yet the Qur’an actually views human as the object of education in a long process with the ultimate objective of happiness of the world and the hereafter. This process involves human in an intensive dialogue and it takes time. This paper offers a selection of verses of the Qur’an and then analyses it with a historical approach that the results will be the philosophical basis andfundamental principles of human education efforts to achieve perfect being. This paper concludes that the gradual way of revelation of the Qur’an shows that this holy book presents as a “book of education” that accompanies everyday life of man. Thus the study of the meaning of the verses of the Qur’an with a multidisciplinary approach is a must as a form of attempt to optimize the intake of ”divine nutrition” to human health in living his life.

Why do people go to the movies? What does it mean to watch a movie? To what extent does our perception of the fictional nature of movies differ from our daily perception of the real world? The authors, a neuroscientist and a film theorist, propose a new multidisciplinary approach to images and film that can provide answers to these questions. According to the authors, film art, based on the interaction between spectators and the world on the screen, and often described in terms of immersion, impressions of reality, simulation, and involvement of the spectator’s body in the fictitious world he inhabits, can be reconsidered from a neuroscientific perspective, which examines the brain and its close relationship to the body. They propose a new model of perception—embodied simulation—elaborated on the basis of neuroscientific investigation, to demonstrate the role played by sensorimotor and affect-related brain circuits in cognition and film experience. Scenes from famous films, like Notorious, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Persona, The Silence of the Lambs, and Toy Story are described and analyzed according to this multidisciplinary approach, and used as case studies to discuss the embodied simulation model. The aim is to shed new light on the multiple resonance mechanisms that constitute one of the great secrets of cinematographic art, and to reflect on the power of moving images, which increasingly are part of our everyday life.

The short objectives of this volume are first, to rejuvenate interest in the field of sports studies; second, to offer a platform for a wide range of studies on sports, employing a variety of approaches and perspectives, and methodologies to enliven a field of study, and third, equally important, to engender both a scholarly and informed lay readership about serious work and writing on sports. Presenting a multidisciplinary approach to sports studies, the book is a narrative of the diverse and emerging field of sports studies ranging from the viewing of sports as a microcosm of society that affords an opportunity to understand the complex relations among society, state, government and its agencies to critical analyses of the field of sport using gender and class analyses within a political economy perspective. Interspersed are case studies and an autobiographical account that not only enrich the narrative, but also demonstrate the value of different genres to understanding the field. This volume has emerged from the editors’ sociological curiosity derived not only from scholarship but from our participation in the world of sports, and as a means of productively sharing widely our exhilarating and liberating sporting experience. If it has raised more questions that it has answered, then the book has succeeded in its purpose.
