The university community is not a static environment but, rather, one fraught with change and adjustment to change. How do academic libraries within a university setting effectively address the evolving service and resource needs of a diverse patron community? One method that has received increasing attention is the development and implementation of internal instruments specifically designed to assess user satisfaction with services and resources. This study assesses undergraduate resource and service needs, identifies librarywide unmet needs, and gives both library user and librarian an opportunity to engage in proactive dialogue.

The present study examined consumer satisfaction with services provided in a Psychiatric Walk-In Clinic in order to determine not only general levels of satisfaction but also whether or not differences in satisfaction exist between different user groups. Although levels of reported satisfaction were generally high, group psychotherapy patients reported being significantly less satisfied than patients who had been assessed at the clinic or who were in individual psychotherapy. None of the demographic variables including previous psychiatric experience, diagnosis and patient visits were related to satisfaction. These data were discussed in terms of program development.

Prior studies report that less experienced staff accountants are often susceptible to confirmation bias in the evaluation of evidence. This bias results in nonobjective information evaluation by staff-level accountants. This study examines how the perceived objectivity of the staff accountant and the manager's own client advocacy affect the manager's use of the staff accountant's research report when formulating client recommendations. The results suggest that objectivity judgments made by partner-/manager-level accountants are influenced by whether the staff accountant's research report confirms their initial opinion. Further, the confirmatory nature of the research report affects the manner in which the report is incorporated into a client recommendation. Nonconfirming research reports were given more weight than confirming research reports. Preference for client-favorable outcomes was found to affect the weight given to staff accountant research reports as well.

BackgroundThis study evaluates two in-patient units attached to community mental health centres (CMHCs) that were designed to supplement acute in-patient care and to integrate with community-based after-care services.AimTo examine the comparative outcome of patients with severe mental illness (SMI) admitted to the two units.MethodAll patients with SMI admitted to the acute psychiatric wards serving the two CMHCs, those transferred to the community in-patient units and those admitted directly to these units (n=110) were compared with patients (n=67) admitted to acute wards serving two similar catchment areas without associated community beds. Baseline clinical and social measures were made and repeated at six and 12 months. Satisfaction with services was assessed at 12 months.ResultsThe experimental group showed significantly better outcomes, significant reduction in unmet need and better satisfaction with services.ConclusionsThe use of the community beds appears to have significant benefits for patients with SMI.

The increase of individual car traffic causes that existing transport networks fail to meet the needs of road traffic in the means of capacity. One of the possible options for solving this problem is the construction of new communications. This solution is difficult to implement due to the high investment costs and possibility for further development. Therefore, one of the options for avoiding this problem is to make public urban transport more attractive, for example, through its support and preference. One of the main criteria in the quality evaluation of public urban transport is the transfer speed from origin to destination. This speed can be most noticeably affected by the use of public urban transport preference. This paper will discuss the analysis of passengers’ satisfaction with services provided by carriers of urban transport and the possibilities of public urban transport preference through the preference of public urban transport vehicles in reserved traffic lanes and on signal controlled intersections.
