“‘…for I will pass through the midst of you,’ says Yahweh”In commenting on this verse, most scholars have understood Amos's image of Yahweh passing through the midst of the people Israel as an allusion to his passing through Egypt. They make reference in this regard to Exod 12:12:For I will pass through (we ʿābarû) the land of Egypt that night, and I will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Yahweh.

The article relates to the last novel by D. A. Prigov “Katya the Chinese” (published in 2007), based on the memories of the writer’s wife, N. G. Burova from Harbin, who was born and grew up in the Russian China and left it in 1950s. The main task of the article is to show what stylistic techniques, plots, motives, subtexts allow to recreate the atmosphere of the Russian China and the generalized image of the East. The narration synthesizes the memories of the people of Harbin and recognizable storylines of D. A. Prigov’s work (such, for example, as a fantastic bestiary). In the subtext of the novel the following works are found: feuilleton by I. Ilf and E. Petrov “Nikudykin the Commtied”, pro- totyped by the “futurist of life” V. Goltsshmidt, who traveled in 1918–1920s with lectures on Siberia and the Far East, V. Nabokov’s novel “The Gift” with his father’s Asian journey (the plot about his father in “The Gift” influenced the plot about the girl’s father in “Katya the Chinese”), the “Chinese” stories by J. L. Borges “The Garden of Forking Paths” and “The Analytical language of John Wilkins”, etc. In Prigov’s narrative, a particular role is played by an autobiographical excerpt about the Tashkent artist A. N. Volkov and an insertion novel about the “Monastery of Flying Cats”, in- tentionally inaccurately stylized by Prigov as a Chinese legend. Many motifs and subtexts of the novel pass through the prism of the child’s consciousness (the “girl’s”, who is the main character of the novel), which gives the image of the Russian East, along with documentary, fantastic features.

This paper presents an enhanced methodology in implementing and designing a security system for door locking purpose based on fingerprint, GSM technology, monitoring camera, alarm system and password system. This security system will provide enough security by limiting unauthorized people access and taking a record of those who pass through it. Sometimes unauthorized people or burglars try to break the door for evil intentions at a time when no one is available at a targeted place, so this paper introduces some security solutions for that problem and they are the main contribution of our paper. We introduce an alarm system to alert the people at the surroundings, GSM module that’s used to send an SMS message to the registered user’s (responsible person) and a web camera that’s used to take a video for a person who tries to break the lock, password keypad that’s used after fingerprint sensing to provide extra security. Definitely the registered users are the only persons who can access the lock, and the door closes after five seconds from the opening time. The method used to implement this experiment involves the use of a fingerprint scanner R305 that’s interfaced with Arduino microcontroller-ATMEGA328P to control the locking and unlocking process of a door. During all the opening and closing processes, the16x2 Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) displays some commands which can be used to instruct the users like, place your finger on the sensor, the door is opened, the door is closed, the message is sent, please enter the password etc. If an unregistered user tries to access the door using their fingerprints, automatically his/her access is denied. The proposed door lock security system is can be used at homes, offices, banks, hospitals, and in other governmental and private sectors. Our proposed system was tested in real-time and has shown competitive results compared to other projects using RFI and password.

Homecoming activities that occur each approaching Eid certainly make travelers feel exhausted on the way to their hometown. So with that it requires activities that help travelers. In this case we provide a place to rest for travelers and provide free massage for travelers. Massage comes from the French word "masser" which means rubbing or from the Arabic word "mash" which means to press it gently or from the Greek word "massien" which means to massage or wrap. With the provision of massage it is expected that travelers can relax and make the body fit again. Based on the above problems, we need a place of rest for travelers who drive motorized vehicles and volunteers who are able to reduce driver fatigue by giving free massage to the travelers. With this done, it is expected that the smoothness and safety of motorists who make homecoming in 2019 can be maintained until they are in their respective hometowns. The target of this community service activity is travelers in 2019 who pass through Banyuwangi City. The preparatory stages include location survey, after that coordinate with the campus to hold campus room loan licensing as a place of rest and massage place for the homecomers. In addition, we are socializing to the public that there will be a free massage at Campus C, Uniba Banyuwangi. Providing all the facilities of massages, such as mattresses, olive oil and towels. The implementation phase is carried out May 18-19, 2019. The homecomers are recorded by filling in attendance and biodata. Travelers come into the room to rest and are given massage treatment. Based on the results of community service activities that have been carried out, the people who have been going home in 2019 are happy and are greatly helped by the location of free rest and massage. The resting place is very helpful for travelers to see a long time in travel and the long distance traveled by the travelers. For free massage activities also make travelers feel more comfortable and more fit to continue their homecoming journey to their hometown.

The separation of waste materials into degradable and non-degradable waste is one of the major issues in our country. As the plastic materials cause major harm to the humans as well as the environment it should be separated and effectively recycled. The non-degradable plastic wastes do not allow the rain water to pass through it thereby decreasing the ground water level. If these wastes are burnt, it emits carbon monoxide which is harmful to the humans. Our project is to encourage the people to dump and segregate the waste materials in their households using smart bins. The separation of the plastic waste is done by using capacitive type proximity sensor and ultrasonic sensor. In order to encourage the people to collect and segregate the waste materials, in large amount, they are rewarded for the amount of waste that they collect and segregate. The amount of waste collected is displayed in the website and in their mobile phones with the amount of reward points earned. The customers redeem their reward points in the shops mentioned in the website.

Most anthropologists are travelers. We often journey away from home to distant places where we conduct our research. In our travels we pass through, or even alight in, major tourist destinations of the world. Although we are travelers with interests in the people and places we visit and ability to adapt ourselves to foreign environments and learn from local people, we do not think of ourselves as tourists. Many of us disdain the tourist and "touristy" places and avoid them, even when we are on vacation. This is perhaps understandable, but unfortunate. We are missing the opportunity to observe and apply our unique perspectives to a significant modern social phenomenon and force for culture change.

People counting applications have been used in diverse applications. The ability and accuracy of thermal imaging over conventional image cameras has led to the implementation of thermal cameras in people counting applications. This paper present a thermal people counting smart glass windows. The people counting application would be remotely monitored from a single centralized PC station as it’s connected to a multiplex of mass monitoring of 20 thermal camera, all embedded into different glass windows. The thermal cameras would then be able to detect body temperatures of all individuals who pass through any of the camera range and also count the numbers of people who passed through the camera range. The data gotten can then be further utilized in various ways, example is in the control of air conditioning and lightening.

Each ethnic group operating it as it suits their cultural value. Under colonial administration, it was known as indirect rule system. It was an attempt to govern the people through their chief. At independence and thereafter, the system has since been restructured and reorganized depending on the regime and the nature of government in power. These changes have made it to pass through series of uncertainties and with peculiar characteristics. The paper, therefore, examines the historical development of local government in Nigerian state. The research methodology is carried out through the use of secondary data. However, the paper founds out that, the current state of Local Government in Nigeria is characterised by unbridled interference of the State Government and therefore recommends that, there is need to review the Constitution to make Local Government autonomous especially on the issues of fiscal power, functions and responsibilities.
