We have evolved a large number of models of thermonuclear runaways in the hydrogen-rich envelopes of 1.00 M⊙ carbon-oxygen white dwarfs. Models characterized by enhanced CNO abundances satisfy the observations of the common nova outburst. They eject from 1027 to 1029 g moving with velocities of 200–2400 km s−1: kinetic energies of 1044 to 1045 erg. The theoretical light curves are similar to the observed light curves of common novae during the early stages of the outburst. As a consequence of our studies, we can present an explanation for the continuous ejection of mass which is observed for long times after the initial outburst and for the relationship between maximum magnitude and the decline to minimum. We are also now able to present an explanation for the constant luminosity phase of the outburst and the oval shapes of the ejected nebulae. We have extended our earlier work to models with extreme enhancements of 12C and to models which include the infalling material in the evolution. The extreme 12C studies result in outbursts which reach near supernova proportions while the accretion models result in light curves which resemble observed light curves quite closely. Finally, the accretion studies also demonstrate the need for enhanced abundances.

The purpose of this study is to examine the risks of using statistical tools in a project basis. A systematic search of certain academic databases has been conducted for this study. Statistical tools could be used in a project, and they should be properly planned and designed. Statistical tools include major activities, such as collecting and analyzing data, providing meaningful interpretation, and reporting findings. When dealing with statistical tools, there are several risks that may exist and impact the project either positively or negatively. This study covers a brief outline of the risk management, statistical tools, and the relationship between the two concepts. Finally, a discussion of the common type of risks that are initiated by using statistical analysis tools are provided, which could be planned, identified, and analyzed in the early stages of the project.

ABSTRACTSimple theories of hydrogen shell flashes on accreting white dwarfs are used to find the requisite conditions for classical novae. It is shown that enhancement of CNO abundances, relative to the Sun, is necessary for fast novae yet slow novae, such as DQ Her, can still occur with large CNO abundances. An analysis of observational data indicates that the white dwarfs in nova binaries have masses typically 1.1 Mʘ. For some old novae, the accretion rate, deduced from the accretion disk luminosity, is too high to permit a strong enough hydrogen flash to give the observed nova strength. Some possible resolutions to this paradox are suggested.Recurrent novae are probably not thermonuclear runaways on accreting white dwarfs.

Scrutiny of the light curves of the common novae yields important clues concerning both the nature of the nova outburst and the characteristics of the underlying white dwarfs. Ultraviolet and infrared observations have served to make available essentially complete bolometric light curves for several recent novae. These data confirm our earlier prediction that, following maximum, both fast and slow novae experience an epoch (of varying duration) of substantially hydrostatic evolution defined by thermonuclear burning of the residual hydrogen fuel at constant bolometric luminosity. Theoretical studies reveal that the luminosity during this phase of a nova’s evolution is well represented by the Paczynski core mass-luminosity relation for such shell burning configurations involving degenerate stellar cores. This luminosity represents, as well, an increasingly significant fraction of the Eddington luminosity with increasing white dwarf mass.

Many couples who come for therapy are struggling with separating from unconscious phantasies and beliefs that enmesh each partner with the other, resulting in states that popular songs powerfully epitomise. While this borderline experience is common and functional in the early stages of being in love its persistence paralyses the development of the relationship. Facing separation from and loss of illusion is a challenge couple therapists are often asked to help with. The argument is illustrated by a case, and by references to some of Cole Porter’s best known songs.

According to Abdulaziz Sachedina, the main argument of religious pluralism in the Qur’an based on the relationship between private belief (personal) and public projection of Islam in society. By regarding to private faith, the Qur’an being noninterventionist (for example, all forms of human authority should not be disturb the inner beliefs of individuals). While the public projection of faith, the Qur’an attitude based on the principle of coexistence. There is the willingness of the dominant race provide the freedom for people of other faiths with their own rules. Rules could shape how to run their affairs and to live side by side with the Muslims. Thus, based on the principle that the people of Indonesia are Muslim majority, it should be a mirror of a societie’s recognizion, respects and execution of religious pluralism. Abdul Aziz Sachedina called for Muslims to rediscover the moral concerns of public Islam in peace. The call for peace seemed to indicate that the existence of increasingly weakened in the religious sense of the Muslims and hence need to be reaffi rmed. Sachedina also like to emphasize that the position of peace in Islam is parallel with a variety of other doctrines, such as: prayer, fasting, pilgrimage and so on. Sachedina also tried to show the argument that the common view among religious groups is only one religion and traditions of other false and worthless. “Antipluralist” argument comes amid the reality of human religious differences. Migraine is a common, chronic neurovascular disorder caused by a complex interaction between genetic and environmental risk factors. In the last two decades, molecular genetics of migraine have been intensively investigated. In a few cases, migraine is transmitted as a monogenic disorder, and the disease phenotype cosegregates with mutations in different genes like CACNA1A, ATP1A2, SCN1A, KCNK18, and NOTCH3. In the common forms of migraine, candidate genes as well as genome-wide association studies have shown that a large number of genetic variants may increase the risk of developing migraine. At present, few studies investigated the genotype-phenotype correlation in patients with migraine. The purpose of this review was to discuss recent studies investigating the relationship between different genetic variants and the clinical characteristics of migraine. Analysis of genotype-phenotype correlations in migraineurs is complicated by several confounding factors and, to date, only polymorphisms of the MTHFR gene have been shown to have an effect on migraine phenotype. Additional genomic studies and network analyses are needed to clarify the complex pathways underlying migraine and its clinical phenotypes.

This chapter considers the meaning of the terms that appropriately denote the subject matter protectable by registered trade mark and allied rights, including the common law action of passing off. Drawing on the earlier analyses of the objects protectable by patent and copyright, it defines the trade mark, designation of origin, and geographical indication in their current European and UK conception as hybrid inventions/works in the form of purpose-limited expressive objects. It also considers the relationship between the different requirements for trade mark and allied rights protection, and related principles of entitlement. In its conclusion, the legal understandings of trade mark and allied rights subject matter are presented as answers to the questions identified in Chapter 3 concerning the categories and essential properties of the subject matter in question, their method of individuation, and the relationship between and method of establishing their and their tokens’ existence.

AbstractIn this paper we review the behavior of growing stellar degenerate cores. It is shown that ONeMg white dwarfs and cold CO white dwarfs can collapse to form a neutron star. This collapse is completely silent since the total amount of radioactive elements that are expelled is very small and a burst of γ-rays is never produced. In the case of an explosion (always carbonoxygen cores), the outcome fits quite well the observed properties of Type Ia supernovae. Nevertheless, the light curves and the velocities measured at maximum are very homogeneous and the diversity introduced by igniting at different densities is not enough to account for the most extreme cases observed. It is also shown that a promising way out of this problem could be the He-induced detonation of white dwarfs with different masses. Finally, we outline that the location of the border line which separetes explosion from collapse strongly depends on the input physics adopted.

AbstractThe following work features elements to ponder and an in-depth explanation taken on the Anca Vasiliu’s study about the possibilities and ways of thinking of God by a rational entity, such as the human being. This is an ever relevant topic that, however, takes place in relation to Platonic authors and texts, especially in Late Antiquity. The common thread is that the human being is a God’s creature who resembles him and who is image of. Nevertheless, this also applies within the Christian Trinity according to which, not without problems, the Son is the image of the Father. Lastly, also the relationship of the Spirit with the Father and the Son, always within the Trinity, can be considered as a relationship of similarity, but again not without critical issues between the similarity of attributes, on the one hand, and the identity of nature, on the other.
