In the dynamic of the acts, alternative and autonomous communication networks were instruments of movement, information and cohesion of the manifestations, through devices and social networks. The purpose of this study was to reflect the dynamics of the June Conference, considering the dimension of cyberspace as an agglutinating element of socio-spatial and insurgency practices, in the search for an approximation between Geography and cyberspace in the context of the examination of the case in question. The paper advances a relational perspective to studying creativity at the individual level. Building on social network theory and techniques, we examine the role of social networks in shaping individuals' ability to generate a creative outcome. More specifically, we argue that individuals who occupy an intermediate position between the core and the periphery of their social system are in a favorable position to achieve creative results. In addition, the benefits accrued through an individual's intermediate core/periphery position can also be observed at the team level, when the same individual works in a team whose members come from both ends of the core/periphery continuum. We situate the analysis and test our hypotheses within the context of the Hollywood motion picture industry, which we trace over the period 1992–2003. The theoretical implications of the results are discussed. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Abstract The review starts by stating that modern communication technologies do, without doubt, influence several domains of human behaviour, including the domain of language. The reviewed title focus on peculiarities with one of these new ways of communication, namely, communication on two prominent social networks. The review gives an overview over structure in the book, and comments on its scope. The core of the books’ research is located in the second part of the monograph, where changes in ortography and some other features, such as use of emoticons, are observed in excerpts from Facebook and Twitter corpora, counting 18 000 tokens both. The review concludes that typology of ortographical differences, proposed by the book, is accurate and reflects the real situation.

We aim to rethink personal digital storytelling in light of new forms of communication that have emerged on social networks, as well as to analyse the core value of image in all of them. Three specific objectives are proposed: i) to know the habits and practices of young people in relation to the publication of digital (and other) narratives in social networks, ii) to identify profiles and types of young publishers, iii) to characterize the differentiating elements between the types of young publishers. For this purpose, we have designed a questionnaire on young people’s social network posting practices. The sample corresponds to 835 young people between 12 and 22 years old from Ibero-American countries (Spain, Chile and Colombia). Our analysis of the results of the questionnaire shows certain differences according to age, country and gender, along with several significant similarities. The respondents have been classified according to posting frequency and type of posts. Last of all, we make some considerations on how to incorporate the results of the questionnaire in the training methodology of personal digital storytelling.

The life of today's society provides a dichotomist color, between togetherness and a life-altering attitude. Concern and togetherness to tackle the economic, social, environmental, and educational issues that are shackling their lives are running low. This condition reflects that society is losing togetherness and group energy due to the loss of social capital. Devotion with this service learning strategy, to raise awareness of the society and students towards the re-growth of social capital, because the researcher believes that social capital can be a force in generating adaptation capacity of mosque community in a rural village in forming harmonious life. Community social activities centered from the mosque have made people aware that the religion they embrace there is wisdom (wisdom) as capital in arranging the harmonization of life and the obligation to solve various problems of life. The differences have become positive energy in fostering harmony and peace. The dialogue of their actions has enriched their theological dialogue, as evidenced by the functioning of the mosque in its vast dimensions of educational, economic, social, cultural, communication and information functions, and social networks. Service-Learning devotion has been able to produce positive changes in various fields of education, health, economics, and environment. This shows that the four main elements, namely: possibility, strengthening, protection, support, and maintenance have become the core of this devotion.

Overlapping community is a response to the real network structure in social networks and in real society in order to solve the problems such as the parameters of the existing overlapping community discovery algorithm being too large, excessive overlap and no guarantee of stability of multiple runs. In this paper, the method of calculating the node degree of membership was proposed, and an overlapping community discovery algorithm based on the local optimal expansion cohesion idea was designed. Firstly, the initial core community was constructed with the highest importance node and its neighbor nodes. Secondly, the core community was extended by node attribution degree until the termination condition of the algorithm was satisfied. Finally, the experimental results were compared with the existing algorithms. The experiments show that the result of the division by the improved algorithm has been significantly improved compared to the other algorithms, and the community structure after the division is more reasonable.

Mobile telephony has diffused more rapidly than any Indian technology in recent memory, yet systematic studies of its impact are rare, focusing on technological rather than social change. We employ network surveys of separate groups of Kerala residents in 2002 and again in 2007 to examine recent shifts in mobile usage patterns and social relationships. Results show (1) near saturation of mobiles among both the professionals and nonprofessionals sampled, (2) a decrease in the number of social linkages across tie types and physical locations, and (3) a shift towards friends and family but away from work relationships in the core networks of Malayalis. We interpret these findings as support for the bounded solidarity thesis of remote communication that emphasizes social insulation and network closure as mobiles shield individuals from their wider surroundings.

The paper presents a discussion on the different approaches that the authors have found in learning settings respect to ICT platforms that support the educational activities. The authors discuss three different approaches in pursuing learning activities in real educational contexts. The considered approaches are different in the sense of the metaphor used. The approaches related to LMSs follow the metaphor of “course”, while in the approaches related with web 2.0 technologies (like Facebook™, Twitter™, Flickr™ etc), the founding metaphor is the individual with its social networks. Finally, the third approach has its building blocks in the idea of (virtual) community and virtual communities systems, where the core paradigm of the platform is the (virtual) community that offers specialized services for the purpose of the community to the enrolled members, and where the subject is just a participant that adheres to the rules of the community, with duties, rights, tasks to do and objectives to achieve. The authors will discuss all these three approaches, the different levels of applicability in learning settings, and specifically the potential of the virtual communities-based system that they adopted in the experimentations conducted in the last ten years.

AbstractFace memory abilities are at the core of human social interaction, yet these vary widely within the general population, ranging from developmental prosopagnosia to “super-recognizers”. Previous work has focused mainly on the contribution of the well described face network to this variance. However, given the nature of the face memory task, and the social context in which it takes place, we were interested in exploring how the collaboration between different networks outside the face network (measured through resting state connectivity) affects performance on face memory tasks. We discovered that face recognition memory is supported by a wide network of connections between the face patches, memory regions, auditory regions and social networks. Moreover, this network was selective for memory for faces, and did not predict memory for other visual objects, such as cars.
