The vocational training in agricultural and technical High School should be provided and organized in a systematic, rational, effective ways. The integration of Ukrainian High School in European education considers the training of a universal specialist competent both in theoretical study and practical application of farming and engineering. The first attempts have already been done: dual education projects are encouraged by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. The paper reports on teaching Physics through the implementation of profession based elements. Therefore, the aims of this paper are threefold: (1) to characterize the scientific knowledge in connecting theoretical and practical areas of study, to determine the basic characteristics according to standardized training programme future specialists in agriculture and engineering should have, (2) to develop the strategies for integrating the profession-based approach to teaching academic disciplines on the basis of the pedagogical experiment that involved 176 student-respondents and 41 teacher-respondents and (3) to create integrated curriculum, profession-based lecture samples and problem book in Physics for students majoring in Power Engineering in Agricultural Complex. The survey was carried out on the basis of the State Agrarian and Engineering University in Podillia, Lviv National Agrarian University and Nizhyn Agricultural University. To gain evidence about the effectiveness of implementation of profession-based material in Physics course in vocational training of future power engineers we used specially designed questionnaires, interviews and observation of behaviour. The results of the study proved that the use of profession-based material promotes the formation of student natural knowledge, as well as a wide range of practical skills and abilities. Providing the professional competence in training stimulates cognitive interest in t studying Physics as a science, helps to absorb material from other science disciplines, to develop their cognitive and creative abilities and to influence on the formation of persistent motifs to obtain knowledge from special disciplines.

AbstractObjectiveTo ascertain the prevalence and correlated factors of providing consultation on sexual orientation and the characteristics of school nurses in high schools in Japan.MethodsParticipants were school nurses working in high schools in Aichi prefecture. Items investigated included background, experiences in providing counselling on sexual orientation, the availability of materials and resources for students, and learning experiences concerning how to handle sexual orientation concerns. We divided the respondents into two groups: one group who have provided counselling on sexual orientation before and one group with no such experience. Chi square tests were utilized to compare the responses between groups.ResultsAmong the respondents, 38.9% (n = 140) had previous experience of providing counselling to students on sexual orientation. The group with experience of providing counselling is more likely to have 10–29 years of experience, to work at a senior high school, to be informed on notifications from the Ministry of Education, to have experience of learning how to provide counselling on sexual orientation, and to be aware of effective resources.ConclusionIn Japan, it is expected that the support needs related to LGBTI will become more obvious in the future and efforts to create an environment in which it is easy for young people to consult with school nurses or other support figures are necessary.

The Jigsaw II, one form of Cooperative learning techniques is an efficient strategy to use in a language classroom. The basic activities include 1) Reading with team members 2) Expert group discussion 3) Team members report 4) Test 5) Team recognition. The jigsaw II strategy is easyto implement and works well with a wide range of students.Previous researches related to Jigsaw II shows that it is more powerful and effective and appropriate in situations where learning is from text based materials. Reviews related to the strategy shows that no researches have been carried out to develop the reading comprehension of the high school students, particularly in the Indian context. Hence through this paper an attempt has been made by the researcher to check the effectiveness of Jigsaw II in developing the reading comprehension of High school students.The study statistically revealed that there is significant difference in the reading comprehension achievement of the students who were taught by using the traditional method and to those taught by using the Jigsaw II strategy. In accordance with the qualitative and quantitative findings attained it was found that Jigsaw II was found to be more effective than the traditional teaching method in developing the reading comprehension of high school students.

ABSTRACTThe introduction of new technologies in society has created a need for interactive contents that can make the most of the potential that technological advances offer. Serious games as educational games are such content: they can be defined as video games or interactive applications whose main purpose is to provide not only entertainment but also training and enhancing skills in areas such as health, marketing, education, etc. The game was associated with childhood and youth but serious games search for promoting, strengthening and giving added value to the teaching and learning process for all ages. One of the most crucial factors for successful educational games is their ability to maintain an individual learner’s motivation and interest by adapting the individual learning and gaming experience to each learner’s needs, preferences, goals, and abilities. For this reason, Serious Games need tutoring and dynamization. The aim of this paper is to analyze a specific experience success in the use of Serious Games for training. It details how this serious game can enhance different skills in each of the phases of the game. This Serious Game was used to promote innovation among High School students and students at Vocational Training Centres. The users must manage a supermarket trying to get the best results possible by taking a series of both strategic and operational decisions. Through an econometric regression model, we have analyzed the results of its use by a group of High School students and Vocational Training School students.RESUMENLos Serious Games son juegos cuyo fin va más allá del mero entretenimiento y persiguen transmitir contenidos, valores, potenciar habilidades y competencias e incluso servir como herramienta de marketing al utilizarse como medio publi-citario. En los últimos años, las TIC han ido tomando protagonismo en el ámbito educativo y formativo y los Serious Games están jugando un papel fundamental como herramientas formativas. El juego anteriormente se asociaba a las etapas de la infancia y la juventud pero los Serious Games pretenden potenciar, reforzar y dar un valor añadido importante al proceso de enseñanza y al proceso de aprendizaje para todas las edades. No obstante, para que los Serious Games alcancen todo su potencial como herramienta en el proceso de aprendizaje, es necesario complementarlos con una buena tutorización y dinami-zación que guíe dicho aprendizaje. Sin duda, sin la labor tutorial, los Serious Games pierden eficacia en su objetivo de poten-ciar el aprendizaje. El objeto de estudio del presente trabajo es analizar una experiencia de éxito concreta en el uso de los Serious Games para el ámbito formativo. En él se detalla cómo a través de un juego que se ha utilizado entre los alumnos de Bachillerato y Formación Profesional se pueden potenciar diferentes competencias en cada una de las fases del mismo. En él, el usuario debe gestionar un supermercado tratando de obtener los mejores resultados posibles tomando una serie de decisio-nes tanto estratégicas como operativas. Due to the extremely low level of current Russian economic scientists and practitioners, we can only place our hope on the younger generation. In this regard, the article considers the textbook on Economic Theory recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation for students of 10-11th grades, currently in its 26th edition. The textbook arouses no interest, only antipathy to Economics among school students. It is unjustifiably focused on economic theory, not practice. The textbook is too complicated and boring, almost completely ignoring the economic problems of Russia and Third World countries. It is argued that the course of Economics for high school students can be not only informative and useful, but also involving. The Soviet and Russian economies are full of mysteries, which can make use of the enthusiasm school students have for solving mysteries and puzzles. The author suggests a program for a course in Economics for school students, comprising 10 new chapters, as well as a summary of the new chapters. The author also presents economic entities interested in high-quality school textbooks. The textbook recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation is compared to the previously published more informative and involving textbooks for high school students.

Abstract Populations are aging dramatically, and call for higher education to be more age-friendly and pave the way for career paths in aging. The Careers in Aging Week (CIAW) program sponsored annually by the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE) of GSA has been a core stimulus for building career interest – however, more could be done to strengthen and invigorate this effort. This symposium will show how intergenerational exchange can be used to mount interest in careers in aging and create new pipelines to gerontology programs in higher education. Examples of innovative approaches will demonstrate how career information can be communicated to students in more creative and compelling ways. The first paper will set the stage with an evidence-based overview of emerging areas for career development, and a presentation of career planning models to aid student understanding as to how to make aging career decisions. Two presentations will then focus on different aging-workforce initiatives aimed at building educational pipelines that connect high-school students with college students studying gerontology. In addition to highlighting the oft-overlooked population of high school students, attention will be given to the importance of including minority student populations in career development efforts. The final paper will describe the utility of broader intergenerational strategies that build bridges across students, educators, aging professionals, and community collaborators via campus career events. The discussant will bring these efforts together with an intergenerational programming lens that higher education can use to amplify awareness about the wide-range of career opportunities aging offers.

This study was prepared to find out views of six geography teachers working in high schools under the Ministry of Education, ten geography teacher candidates who are still undergraduate students at a state university in Istanbul and sixty eight students who study at a high school in Istanbul's Umraniye district about assessment and evaluation of solutions to questions in the field of geography. To this end, a number of questions concerning physical, economic and human geography were gathered from the high school textbook. Experts were asked about their opinions on these questions to ensure the content validity. Ninety percent of the questions were approved by the experts and these questions used with their solutions in a survey form which was formed to gather data. The survey form included open-ended questions fit for purpose. The survey was conducted in 2011-2012 spring term among participants who were chosen using the purposive sampling method. The data that were accumulated at the end of this survey were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique. As a result, it was observed that views of geography teachers geography teacher candidates and high school students about assessment and evaluation are different from each other. The findings interpreted by making suggestions concerning the subject.

The article discusses examples of the differential equation problem in Python with a graph for high school students. The basic characteristics of some tools for solving problems in mathematics using information technology are given. The difference between the two modern-known computer programs Python and Pascal is briefly explained. The article uses illustrative examples of built-in and manually entered functions that can be repeated by readers in Python to recreate graphs of trigonometric, differential, and other functions. In conclusion, it describes how the program can save time and energy for solving graphic problems in mathematics using the Python program. The article concludes that it is important for students to use logic to solve problems with improvised tools, where there are built-in functions, compared to remembering programming language algorithms for solving problems.

Background and Study Aim. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many athletes to interrupt their regular training programme. The change-of-direction performance is a highly critical parameter for fencing. This study aims to investigate the effects of the detraining process caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the change-of-direction performance of fencers. Material and Methods. The study sample comprised 15 fencers (11 males, 4 females) who were competitors in the U17-20 age categories (mean age: 15.75±1.51 years; height: 170.30±7.68 cm; weight: 65.16±10.83 kg) in Turkey. All participants were high school students. Branch-specific change-of-direction tests (4-2-2-4-m shuttle and 7-m repeat lunge ability) were measured in the middle of the competition season and after the detraining period. The detraining period lasted 31 weeks due to the pandemic process.   Results. The results showed that participants were slower in the post 7-m repeat lunge ability test (23.32±2.21 sec.) compared with the pre-test (22.38±1.58 sec.) and participants were slower in the post 4-2-2-4-m shuttle test (6.43±0.54 sec.) compared with the pre-test (5.84±0.33 sec.) (p<0.05). Conclusions. The present study showed that long-term detraining reduces fencer’s change-of-direction performance.  Basic exercise programs can be arranged to reduce the rate of adverse effects during long-term detraining process.

<p><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p><br />In 2015, Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia did a<br />breakthrough in the educational communication field, it is online-national<br />examination, known as computer based test. In Jakarta, implementation of<br />computer based test is coordinated by Provincial Education Board of DKI<br />Jakarta and caried out 30 schools which consist of 1 junior high school, 3<br />senior high schools, and 26 vocational schools. SMPK 2 Penabur Jakarta was<br />the first and chosen by government to run that new examination method. The<br />purpose of this research is to know about comparison between paper based<br />test in 2014 and computer based test in 2015 at SMPK 2 Penabur Jakarta,<br />that was held on May 4 until 7, 2015. Selection of research subject was based<br />on psychological characteristic of 9<br /> grade students in junior high school<br />(14 – 15 years old) who prioritized to observe on. The research applied social<br />judgment theory by Muzafer Sherif. This qualitative-descriptive research used<br />case study method and based on constructivism paradigm. Data collection was<br />conducted by interview, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and documentation<br />study through online media. The result of this study shows that computer based<br />test is more excellent than paper based test.
