Sub-Saharan Africa has been plaque with food insecurity due to lack of adoption of modern technology to improve their productivity. Technology is the systematic application of scientific or other organized body of knowledge to practical purposes. This includes new ideas, inventions, innovations, techniques, methods and materials. Since increasing agricultural productivity is critical to meeting the continues rise in demand for food, agricultural technologies will play immense role in increasing the production of food. As a result, it is useful to examine the adoption of technologies among farmers. A multistage sampling technique was used for the selection of five hundred and fifty - six plantain farmers. The data were collected through the administration of a well-structured questionnaire on a cross-section surveyed of plantain farmers. The result of the study shown that educating the plantain farmers in Nigeria will enable them adopt new technologies which will enhance their productivity.

Abstract Innovative design and technology startups often struggle to gain market success when launching a new product. Research in business management highlights the impact of strategic marketing to foster launch success. Prototyping plays a critical role in demonstrating the potential of the said new technologies and innovations into the market. Prototypes can engage users or highlight the potential of an opportunity to investors. The design performance impact of prototyping strategies has been evaluated in recent studies. This work explores the impact that strategic prototyping (defined here as the use of techniques such as: subsystem isolation, or scale modeling), has on market outcome. Pilot analysis of two hundred launch campaigns on the marketing and sales platform - Kickstarter.com, is conducted. This database provides clear documentation of the information that is provided to said investors or ‘backers’, and resulting funds received. The relative usage frequency of various strategies is reported from a subset of product launch efforts after which the correlations between the demonstration of the strategies and funding received is calculated. These preliminary observations may support designers in managing project resources while developing prototypes to launch new products.

Over the past few years, academic institutions have become aware of the importance of innovation in education, as well as its broader role in strengthening the economy. Creativity and innovative thinking are not easily taught in the classroom, but they can be developed through practice and experience. Evaluating innovation as part of product design courses has thus become very important to increase the probability of students becoming innovators in the real world. Innovation tournaments provide universities with an opportunity to develop innovative design thinking in students while they gain practical experience. Understanding design innovation at a deeper level in the context of student design projects is critical to develop realistic perspectives among students. Determining the appropriate dimensions for understanding and measuring innovation is the main objective of this paper. Toward that objective, we conducted initial experiments in conjunction with an innovation award to develop and assess innovation metrics. The results reveal several dimensions of innovation: differentiability, creativity, need satisfaction, and probability of commercial success emerged as key dimensions. This research also assesses the perception of innovation, contrasting the perceptions of judges from industry with the views of academically oriented judges.

Illustrations and drawings have been used in geology to record field data and communicate science since the inception of the subject. In this chapter the history of illustration and drawing in geology is described and shows the evolution of pictorial representation in Earth Science from the earliest examples of the fifteenth century to the present time. The impact of new technologies and the changes in emphasis brought about by modern technology is also considered in relation to drawing as a means to record data. The chapter argues that drawing remains the best means to document geological features and still has an important place in Earth Science.

The article describes the state of museums in the past, the impact of monotonous activities in the country on the number of visitors, as well as the introduction of new technologies and their impact on museums. The importance of using new technologies in the provision of their services, quickly focused on the modern period of museums that are among the top 10 world-famous museums, is emphasized. Virtual tours in 3D format of several foreign and patronymic museums and exhibitions with the use of modern technologies and augmented virtual reality indicate that the museum's attendance is increasing both online and offline. The situation in our country shows that significant work needs to be done to increase the number of visitors to museums, including the use of new technologies, good advertising, various promotions. This idea can be confirmed by the results of a survey on the use of augmented reality and virtual reality technologies in the museum in our country. The desire of a total of 179 participants to visit the museum confirms the need to develop this area. In the near future, people's visits to museums may change, their situation shows that the industry needs to be developed in the future, there is a great opportunity to deliver art to people previously unavailable, people who do not have the opportunity to travel and visit famous museums have online access to the world's best collections. Strict restrictions due to the pandemic have increased people's interest in listening to virtual tours of museums, which, among other things, is due to the fact that the museums themselves are beginning to quickly direct visitors to online tours.

Currently, there is an open discussion in the world on the introduction of new technologies to the lives of citizens and the economic sector. Doubts concern the impact of these technologies on the security of the individual and the state. Companies with modern technologies try to cooperate with the government and enter markets with their services. Not all countries undertake such cooperation. The presented text deals with the deliberations on the introduction of the new 5G technology. Its implementation meets the social discussion on social and state security. The implication of modern technology requires changes to the laws of states. The text focuses on studies on a study case concerning Huawei and a dispute with the US government. The discussed example presents the challenges of the authorities and rules enshrined in legal regulations with the functioning of companies introducing 5G to domestic markets. The presented text shows the legal conflict between the Trump government and a company that had to go to legal action. Paper presents analyzes the jurisprudence of the US courts in the dispute between the two above-mentioned entities.

The paper provides a critical analysis of the idea of technological unemployment. The overview of the existing literature on the employment effects of technological change shows that on the micro-level there exists strong and positive relationship between innovations and employment growth in firms; on the sectoral level this correlation becomes ambiguous; on the macro-level the impact of new technologies seems to be positive or neutral. This implies that fears of explosive growth of technological unemployment in the foreseeable future are exaggerated. Our analysis further suggests that new technologies affect mostly the structure of employment rather than its level. Additionally we argue that automation and digitalisation would change mostly task sets within particular occupations rather than distribution of workers by occupations.

The value delivered by design thinking is almost always seen to be improvements in the creativity and usefulness of the solutions produced. This paper takes a broader view of the potential power of design thinking, highlighting its role as a social technology for enhancing the productivity of conversations for change across difference. Examined through this lens, design thinking can be observed to aid diverse sets of stakeholders’ abilities to work together to both produce higher order, more innovative solutions and to implement them more successfully. In this way, it acts as a facilitator of the processes of collectives, by enhancing their ability to learn, align and change together. This paper draws on both the author’s extensive field research on the use of design thinking in social sector organizations, as well as on the literature of complex social systems, to discuss implications for both practitioners and scholars interested in assessing the impact of design thinking on organizational performance.
