Theoretical and methodological aspects of research of consumption safety as the ability of the state, society and business to create the preconditions for conscious satisfaction of human needs for self-reproduction to protect the health of the nation and the environment as imperatives for future development are developed. It is proposed to consider the process of consumption securing from the standpoint of harmonizing the interests of society, business and government in forming the basis for sustainable consumption and production in a strategic perspective. The chaos of self-organization processes in the consumer market, as well as the need to combine institutional and market mechanisms in solving the problem of consumption security strengthening in the process of European integration of Ukraine are shown. Systemic means of consumption securing on the basis of harmonization of society, business and the state economic interests with use of the multi-agent approach are developed. Accordingly, a multi-agent model is proposed to identify participants (agents) in the consumption securing process, to formalize the elements, institutional norms, parameters and limitations of their interaction. By building an intelligent map of consumption security, the institutional preconditions, participants of the process of consumption securing, the system of their interests, time parameters of interaction, basic processes, threats and related areas of consumption safety are established. The necessity of using the market mechanism of harmonization of interests of consumption safety subjects (person, society, public authorities and local governments, enterprises-manufacturers, public associations, international organizations, research establishments, etc.) by coordination of the price within the ratio of supply and demand for safe goods (services) with maximizing the convergence of interests as a condition for achieving an equilibrium state of the system is proved.

As a new field in the service industry, logistics is growing rapidly and is regarded as a fundamental industry in a national economy. Its development is an important symbol of a country’s modernization and national strength. It also works as an accelerator in economic development. At the initial stage of transforming traditional logistics service to a modern logistics service in China, logistics enterprises have encountered many difficulties and problems including an imbalanced supply and demand, distempered industrial structure, faultiness of serving process and backwardness of logistics technology since 2005.Compared with developed countries, there is a great gap between Chinese logistics enterprises and advanced countries’ in the aspects of service concepts, model, and content and techniques. Therefore, based on the service innovation driving model theory, the authors analyze the integrated innovation model of logistics enterprises, logistics technology and network model, and the value-added service model. The authors select Shenzhen China Overseas Logistics Co. LTD (COL) as the empirical object to analyze its operation of technology and non-technology innovation and summarize its inner and outer driving force on promoting service innovation.

By introducing the supply and demand of China's wood resources, it summed up the necessity and problems of the recycling of waste wood. Then it presented that studying on the recycling of waste old ship-wood could provide new ideas for the recycling of waste wood. And then it in detail discussed that using which ways and means to achieve the efficient and high value-added recycling of waste old ship-wood on the premise of low-cost, green and environmental protection, and energy conservation and emissions reduction. And finally it pointed out that designers play key roles in the process of recycling waste wood and the recycling of waste wood has an expansive industrialization foreground which can boost the construction of “two-oriented society”.

Abstract The reduced availability of propylene and C4 products from steam crackers continues to provoke on-purpose technologies for light olefins such that almost 30% of propylene in 2025 is predicted to be supplied from unconventional sources. Furthermore, the recent discoveries of natural gas reservoirs have urged interest in the conversion of surplus alkanes and alkenes, especially ethane and ethylene. The direct conversion of ethylene to propylene or a combination of value-added chemicals, including butylenes and oligomers in the range of gasoline and diesel fuel, provides the capability of responding to the fluctuations in the balance between supply and demand of the main petrochemicals. A comprehensive review of heterogeneous catalysts for the gas-phase conversion pathways is presented here in terms of catalytic performances (ethylene conversion and product selectivities), productivities, lifetimes, active sites, physicochemical properties, mechanisms, influence of operating conditions, deactivation and some unresolved/less-advanced aspects of the field. The addressed catalysts cover both zeolitic materials and transition metals, such as tungsten, molybdenum, rhenium and nickel. Efforts in both experimental and theoretical studies are taken into account. Aside from the potential fields of progress, the review reveals very promising performances for the emerging technologies to produce propylene, a mixture of propylene and butenes, or a liquid fuel from ethylene.

According to the Resource Based View of strategic management, analyzing the human resource of a specific firm in terms of its potential to serve as a source of a sustainable competitive advantage requires an examination of – among others – the resource value. The question of how to parameterize this value, i.e., how to calculate human capital, straightly leads to an integration of RBV reasoning with market based models of the competitive environment at the factor and product market side. However, there seems to be a tacit consent among strategy scholars that the only adequate market mechanism to be used for resource valuation is the product market with the economic rents effectively created there. Yet this regularly ends in a tautology criticism of the RBV. It thus is the particular purpose of this paper to examine what market mechanism really is the adequate one to use for the calculation of human capital. For this, a deductive methodology is used. In advancing the idea of a product market orientation, one encounters some major dilemmas ultimately leading to the conclusions that a product market based resource valuation is neither useful nor possible and that the resource value must be measurable independent from any product market success – thus invalidating the tautology criticisms at the same time. This is in direct and flagrant contradiction to the prevailing academic view. As a consequence of this, e.g., “Value Added Approaches” and “Return Based Approaches” of Human Capital Management are discredited as not conform to theoretical requirements and not useful for practical business management, whereas factor market based methods alone prove helpful.

Children's book illustrations have always been an area that allows artists to make the most of their creative potential. Modern design trends for children's books are changing both in the world and in Latvia. The most relevant of these are minimalism and color purity, simplicity and quality. Research also highlights the choice of illustration and font style in favor of retro style and handwriting. Picture books on the topics of kindness and love are popular in terms of content. Activity books are useful for interactive communication. The aim of the article is to develop the concept of graphic design of the ABC of Latgalian language by studying design trends in children's book illustration and the supply and demand of children's Latgalian literature in Latvia. Research methods: theoretical - research and analysis of literature and Internet resources, empirical - questionnaire, analysis of analogues.

Aquaculture is growing ever more important due to the decrease in natural marine resources and increase inworldwide demand. To avoid losses due to aging and abnormalweather, it is important to predict seawater temperature in order to maintain a more stable supply, particularly for high value added products, such as pearls and scallops. The increase in species extinction is a prominent societal issue. Furthermore, in order to maintain a stable quality of farmed fishery, water temperature should be measured daily and farming methods altered according to seasonal stresses. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to estimate seawater temperature in marine aquaculture by combining seawater temperature data and actual weather data.

The article reveals the theses of neoliberalism - a complex philosophical and scientific course, as well as social practices concerning a new understanding of the role and purpose of the state in the twentieth century. The results of the study are based on an analysis of the works of representatives of German and American neoliberalism. The strong role of the state in the economic sphere, as well as the humanitarian, social and security purpose of the state are described. Neoliberalism was formed in the fields of economics, political science, jurisprudence, international law, philosophy as scientific fields of knowledge and embodied in the economic, social and cultural policy of Western democracies, including the reflection of its doctrinal provisions in the constitutions of European states. Therefore, neoliberalism can be defined as a set of doctrinal currents and social practices, characterized by economic, political, legal and ideological components. Representatives of neoliberalism tried to redefine the role, significance and tasks of the state according to the interwar and postwar economic and political conditions. At the same time, their ideas concerned individual rights and freedoms, the legal social order, as well as the worldview and methodological foundations on which all currents of neoliberalism were based. In August 1938, a conference of neoliberal economists, known as the Lippmann Colloquium, was held in Paris, at which a new concept of the state was essentially formulated. It consisted of the following provisions. First, the state must determine the system of rules within which economic activity is formed, and guarantee their implementation. Secondly, it was recognized at the conference that the market mechanism does not provide automatic self-regulation and balance, and therefore requires some government intervention. The third provision of the conference established that the state had to take only those measures that would ensure the support of free competition. Fourth, the restriction of monopolies was recognized. This idea underlies at the basis of antitrust laws in USA. The fifth point of neoliberalism was the limited intervention of the state in economic relations. It was allowed only temporarily and in cases when the flexibility of supply and demand was violated and the balance on the basis of the price mechanism was lost. The state should not set the price on the market, but should influence the magnitude of supply or demand, thus equalizing prices and preventing sharp fluctuations. As a result, the state in neoliberalism has a strong influence on the economic system by eliminating market monopolies, ensuring free competition, regulating excess supply and demand. Also, one of the leading roles of the state is to carry out activities that do not provide profit in the near future (humanitarian, scientific, medical, environmental spheres). Having created conditions for sustainable economic development, the state has to embody social and security tasks. Keywords: neoliberalism, state, role, order, intervention, economy, law, peace, security, humanitarian and social tasks.
