Islamic law and women are one of mostly debated discourses bycontemporary Islamic thinkers particularly those who are gender issuesproponents. That discourse grows due to the accuse towards Islam thatthis religion is the source of gender inequality for women through outmuslim world especially in education, fairness and domestic freedom aswell as social welfare in the family. The assumption is that Islamic law ismale-based law. Therefore, it is a need to explore the note on Islamic lawdevelopment which is perceived from the role of women in the early age oflaw construction not from the aspect of the thought of classical ulama inthe middle age. This paper tries to explore and to discuss mainly the role ofSiti Aisyah as the teacher and the transmitter of hadith as the foundation ofIslamic law construction to underline women’s position and contributionas the law maker that it will prove that Islamic law is not merely men-basedlaw as the assumption grows.

ABSTRACTGut bacteria occupy the interface between the organism and the external environment, contributing to homeostasis and disease. Yet, the causal role of the gut microbiota during host aging is largely unexplored. Here, using the African turquoise killifish (Nothobranchius furzeri), a naturally short-lived vertebrate, we show that the gut microbiota plays a key role in modulating vertebrate life span. Recolonizing the gut of middle-age individuals with bacteria from young donors resulted in life span extension and delayed behavioral decline. This intervention prevented the decrease in microbial diversity associated with host aging and maintained a young-like gut bacterial community, characterized by overrepresentation of the key genera Exiguobacterium, Planococcus, Propionigenium and Psychrobacter. Our findings demonstrate that the natural microbial gut community of young individuals can causally induce long-lasting beneficial systemic effects that lead to life span extension in a vertebrate model.

Steroid cell tumour of the ovary is an extremely rare tumour. They are classified into three types with the commonest, the steroid cell tumour not otherwise specified (NOS) consisting approximately 60% of them. They occur mostly in middle age, are mostly benign and mostly cause virilising symptoms though a small proportion can present with oestrogenic effects. Diagnosis is based on presence of symptoms, presence of specific histopathological features with absence of certain histopathological features and positive specific immunostaining results. Here the author reports a case of a 42-year old woman with abdominal mass but without virilising symptoms but on whom a diagnosis of ovarian steroid cell tumour was reached by histopathological analysis which revealed presence of specific histopathological features with absence of certain histopathological features.

Gábor Attila Csúr: “The Inclination to the Supernatural in the Middle Ages – A Critical Reading of Medieval Religiousness in Danish Historical Novels” The article focuses on Danish historical prose fiction from the last two centuries and analyzes how the phenomenon ‘medievalism’, i. e. the interpretation, reception and recreation of the Middle Age, has changed during this period. Stereotypes about medieval religious thought and belief and the role of the church have always been popular features of historical novels. By analyzing the depictions of religiousness, the article attempts to draw a line of development in understanding medieval culture and everyday life.

The subjects in this study are the elderly who are in the middle age category, namely the elderly who are in the age range of 45 - 59 years who do sports in the Air Hangat subdistrict of Kerinci Regency (N=33). The sampling technique used in this research is sensus sampling which mean making the entire population as a sample. The data in this study was collocted using a Guttman scale questionnaire. The data is analysed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that the interest of the elderly in the middle age group to exercise is in the sufficient category. This is due to the lack of knowledge and role of the family, so their interest needs to be increased again with the hope that in the future this age group will be healthier.

IgG deficiency can predispose to recurrent pyogenic infections. The association of IgG deficiency withClostridium difficileinfection has been infrequently reported in the literature. We present a case of a middle-age woman with multiple hospitalizations for recurrentC. difficilein a short span of time which prompted consideration of a possible fecal transplant. On evaluation, she was found to have low total IgG, with subclass analysis revealing low IgG1 and IgG3. She was started on monthly infusions of immunoglobulins and one year after her last episode ofC. difficileshe has not had any recurrence. The role of immunoglobulin infusion in the treatment of recurrentC. difficileis controversial, with some studies revealing no clear evidence of benefit. Our case report suggests that the patients who have underlying IgG deficiency may benefit from immunoglobulin, as this can significantly reduce the incidence of recurrent infections and hence save the healthcare costs.
