In September 2008, Origin completed a $9.6 billion transaction with ConocoPhillips to form Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG)—a fifty-fifty coal seam gas to liquified natural gas joint venture. As the upstream operator, Origin is planning to ramp up production to more than five times present production levels. In a two-year period, Origin tripled Queensland CSG production volumes to 300 Tj per day. This expansion was based on existing business systems and processes and it was recognised that additional capability would be required to further ramp up production and associated activities. A project was commissioned to build operational capability and capacity—processes, systems, organisation design and people—to efficiently drill the required number of production wells. This priority project addressed a business objective to step up the drilling of CSG production wells from approximately 60 to 350–400 per annum. The transformational solution comprised three key components: business process re-engineering, technology development, and organisational re-design. The solution included the definition, documentation and transformation of business processes—this ensured consistent, repeatable and scalable processes capable of drilling of 350–400 wells per annum. The processes are now enabled by resource scheduling and document management systems that are fully integrated. The resultant well delivery system is managed by a team that provides the business with decision making information regarding the resource use required to support the delivery of the APLNG commitments. Given the transformational nature of the solution, the delivery of all three components was under-pinned with change management impact assessments, education, communications and deployment. The total solution was deployed in August 2010.

Open innovation through collaboration could be beneficial for various reasons, but participating firms must also consider the strategic consequences of their formation on the supply chain. This study is concerned with how open innovation through inter-firm collaboration and strategic alliances may generate value for competing suppliers by stimulating the adoption of the new component innovation by the downstream supply chain. The analysis specifically examines three types of firm interaction representing different levels of open innovation. First, in the joint venture, fully integrated suppliers would develop and market the component. Second, in the development alliance, partially integrated suppliers share the development outcome, but compete in marketing. Finally, independent suppliers do not form any kind of collaborative formation. The findings reveal that the value of open innovation comes not only from technology development, but also how well it stimulates the downstream OEM to invest.

This article considers the features of electronic document management at retail trade enterprises of the FMCG-segment. The paper observes the types of document flow at chain companies and examines the process of implementation of electronic document management system. The notions of “electronic document management” and “electronic data interchange” are also distinguished in the article.The paper explores positive changes caused by the introduction of electronic document management and the complexity of its implementation. The study reveals that in the Russian Federation the process of mass introduction of electronic document management in the chain retail companies of the FMCG segment has been ongoing for about ten years, though has reached the highest level of its activity in the last two years. At present day, the major part of chain retail companies in the FMCG-segment has already started to actively work with the Electronic Data Interchange system. Moreover, in recent years the number of partner-enterprises that join this system has been steadily increasing.The results of the study show that introduction of electronic document management in chain companies of the FMCG-segment allows to reduce the time spent for processing documents and to track all stages of the core business processes more effectively. It also ensures information security, improves staff discipline and the quality of service, which in its turn significantly improves management efficiency of the company in general.

Aim. The presented study aims to determine the role and place of electronic document management in the corporate system of Russian enterprises, outlining the prospects for its development.Tasks. The authors examine the legislative acts of the Russian Federation on the prospects for the implementation of electronic document management; assess the impact of the pandemic on the digitalization of document management; analyze the business costs of paper document management; identify the advantages of using electronic document management and promising technologies in document processing.Methods. This study uses theoretical and empirical research methods. The dialectic method is used to determine the role, significance, and legal status of electronic document management. Through a logical approach, the essence of such concepts as 'electronic document' and 'electronic document management' is identified.Results. The study presents directions for the development of electronic document management using blockchain technology, which will improve workflows by processing, sorting, exchanging data and documents protected from unauthorized access, and artificial intelligence, which can help organizations process documents faster by simplifying operational procedures. Obstacles that prevent companies from actively using electronic document management are identified. These include additional investment, time costs, and reorganization of management. The volume of innovative services is analyzed by the type of economic activity, and the costs of creating, storing, and processing paper documents are considered.Conclusions. Recent trends in legislation indicate the government's firm commitment to the speedy introduction of electronic document management in Russia. Its use frees up a lot of resources, including time, labor, and finances. The 2020 pandemic has emphasized the importance of digitalizing business processes to ensure their continuity in unforeseen situations. Integrated into the automation of work processes, blockchain technology will ensure the protection of information from unauthorized tampering. Artificial intelligence will open up new opportunities for processing electronic documents.

With the development of information technology, document management is now done digitally and paperless. Document management is also carried out as an implementation of knowledge sharing activities in an organization. Document management as a part of knowledge sharing activities is one of which is carried out by Bina Nusantara University (Binus). This article is compiled to find out how document management is an implementation of knowledge sharing in the Binus University environment. The method used is descriptive method of conducting interviews and literature review. From the research conducted, Binus University developed the Binus portal as a forum for employees to carry out knowledge sharing activities as well as manage documents in the organization. The managed documents include institutional documents such as organizational structure documents, business processes, duties and functions of each directorate, training materials, references in carrying out assignments, sharing expertise, case studies, case-based reasoning, as well as documents in the form of ideas, innovations, and opinions written in popular form by employees at Binus.

The scientific principles and practical recommendations on the organization and management of business processes and construction investment projects in the real sector of the Ukrainian economy are developed. These issues are considered on an example of the development of objects and processes in the oil and gas complex. The basis of its improvement is proposed to apply new forms and best international experience to ensure the modern progress and competitiveness of complex industrial and business systems. It is determined that the practical recommendations given in the article can be successfully applied in industry and other sectors of the real economy sector of Ukraine. Their use should ensure the acceleration of modern progress and the growth of the competitiveness of the domestic economy.

В статье рассмотрена реализация модели программного робота в системе управления документами DIRECTUM. Данная реализация показала возможность осуществлять автоматизацию бизнес-процессов документооборота, посредством внесения в платформу системы управления документами функциональности, обеспечивающей подход к работе с системой документооборота по подобию человека. Для робота реализовано множество правил, которые осуществляют прикладную функциональность, взаимодействуя с системой документооборота. The article deals with the implementation of the software robot model in the document management system DIRECTUM. This implementation has shown the opportunity to automate the business processes of document circulation, by introducing the functionality of the document management system that provides approaches to working with the document system in the likeness of a person. For work, many rules are implemented that implement applied functionality, interacting with the document management system.

Modern technology development created significant innovations in delivery of healthcare. Artificial intelligence as “a branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behaviour in computers” when applied in health care resulted in intelligent support to decision-making, optimised business processes, increased quality, monitoring and delivering of personalised treatment plans and many other applications. Even though the benefits are clear and numerous, there are still open issues in creating automation of healthcare processes, ensuring data protection and integrity, reduction of medical waste etc. However, due to rapid development of AI techniques, more advances and improvements are still expected.

This chapter intends to reveal the benefit of predated notifications of personal actions for HR-planning and discusses the interrelated demands on ERP-systems. If e-government is implemented, one has to think of rearranging the government’s HR-structure in order to adapt to the new circumstances, too. This means to take advantage of modern HR-methodology in order to become more efficient in HR-administration. One possible way in improving human resource management (HRM) is using predated notifications of personal actions for HR-planning. Human resource planning (HR-planning) is a component of strategic enterprise planning. It is fully integrated into the enterprise-wide planning process, because HR-planning is not only determined by other planning areas, but it also determines them vice versa. So the more precisely and comprehensively HR-planning is done, the more accurate derived key figures, which are used in other planning areas, can be. Governments usually deal with a huge amount of personnel, so HR is one of the main tasks in administration. Predated notifications of personal actions usually are known in present, but will be started in the future. In contrast to planning a personnel action the predated one will take place with the highest possible probability. An example for making the difference more clear may be an employee’s retirement. It does not stringently depend on the employee’s age, but rather on the person’s individual decision to retire. As a general rule, an employee’s intention to retire is already known about half a year before it takes place. If this information is used in the planning process, the company will have enough time to estimate the loss of knowledge or the cost-savings that will be caused by the employee’s withdrawal. In huge companies, HRM typically is supported by ERP-systems. The functionality offered by the software depends on the company’s needs and may range from a simple keeping of personnel data to a complex module called human capital management, which is used for payroll accounting, talent management, employee self services, and many more. If the decision-making body considers the company’s personnel as business critical, a lot of employee-related data is collected and analyzed, ranging from master data to planning key figures. This chapter will emphasize the importance of efficient HR-planning for governments in order to improve their business processes. It can be seen as one of the goals of e-government. It will be pointed out how HR-planning can be improved by using predated notifications of personal actions, so that HR-divisions in governments can use advanced HR-planning right on from the beginning when preparing themselves for e-government.
