BACKGROUND The information literacy treatment, which comprises an important part of the process of disease, is one of the aspects of health literacy and this concept has been explored in fewer studies. OBJECTIVE The purpose of the present study is to investigate the state of the components of information literacy treatment in Women cancer patients. METHODS This is an applied, survey-based study. The population consists of 143 Women cancer patients were selected employing a cluster random sampling procedure. Data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire. The questionnaire includes 37 questions consisting of six categories—medications, treatment methods, nutrition, medical tests, treatment costs, and sport exercise. RESULTS The findings showed that patients had the most information needs in the five components (except sport exercise). In addition to, the most important source of information for patients was the doctor and, of course, some of the other medical staff. Also, all the identified criteria for cancer patients were important in using the information sources for treatment. The problems such as: specialized content, unfamiliarity with the medical terms, the complexity of the treatment process, are very important to the patients. CONCLUSIONS The health professionals play an important role in shortening the interval between the patients` need for information and receiving information. It is recommended for the health authorities to hold free classes in health centers and prepare simple and comprehensible materials in these courses.

Information Literacy is built on the idea that when we encounter information we can evaluate that information to incorporate into our knowledge schema. As such information can be encountered in a variety of ways, as academic information, workplace information, or everyday life information.  Art forms can also be considered information, including literature. As an art form literature has been theorized to be a window, mirror, and a sliding glass door (Bishop, 1990) to the reader, an information source regarding our world. The notion that fiction is an information source is not particularly considered in much of the information literacy scholarly research. This paper examines how adolescents engage with fiction as a source of information.   Using a small case study of a class of 16 and 17 year olds the paper examines how they construct ficiton and aesthetic reading as an information source, particularly using the metaphor of the window and the mirror.  While students might consider reading as a way to explore their identity, elements related to their stance towards reading impacted their ability to see reading fiction as an information source.  Furthermore they were unlikely to engage fiction as a "window" or a way to learn about others.  Specific pedagogical structures may encourage a more critical stance towards aesthetic reading as a way to engage in as a learning object.

The article deals with one of the priorities of the modern primary school, reflected in the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of the Primary Education of the Second Generation, the formation of information literacy of students. It describes the characteristics of three groups of informational educational activities, including the readiness of the younger schoolchildren: to use the source of information; understand and present information in different forms; evaluate the reliability, reliability of this or received information. The difficulties faced by elementary school students in mastering information and educational activities are analyzed. The directions of work of the teacher to overcome them and improve the information culture of students are outlined.

The paper is intended to present the role of libraries in promoting dialogue to reduce discrimination; share how libraries document human library sessions as a form of oral history and provide information on the effect of human library sessions to readers. The paper documents the human library program as an alternative source of information which promotes cultural diversity to improve many facets of literacies, which include media and information literacy. Human library aims to lessen our prejudices and makes us more tolerant individuals. In order to achieve cultural equality and social inclusivity, De La Salle University (DLSU) Libraries continues to offer human library sessions to form critical thinkers, lifelong learners and catalysts for social transformation. Most readers thought that the most important learning experience they gained while reading the books was to accept and understand each one of us as unique individuals. The human library program encourages people to be more tolerant and embolden acceptance.

The rise of the internet as the greatest source of information for people living in the UK today poses an acute challenge to the information literacy (IL) community. The amount and type of material available a mouse click away is both liberating and asphyxiating. There are more e-books, trustworthy journalism, niche expertise and accurate facts at our fingertips than ever before, but also mistakes, half-truths, propaganda and misinformation. This article presents research on how well young people are being equipped to meet the challenge of sorting good information from bad. It reviews current literature on the subject, and presents a new poll of over 500 teachers. With analysis supplemented by additional correspondence from librarians and other IL professionals, it argues that there is strong evidence that the web is fundamental to pupils’ learning and lives, but that many are not careful, discerning users of the internet. They are unable to find the information they are looking for, or they trust the first thing they see. This makes them vulnerable to the pitfalls of ignorance, falsehoods, cons and scams. The article proposes the appropriate response to be to embed ‘digital fluency’ – a tripartite concept constituting critical thinking, net savviness and diversity – at the heart of learning, in order to create a pedagogical framework fit for the information consumption habits of the digital age. It should be noted that both authors recognise the importance of non-teaching information literacy professionals in these debates. They recognise that the poll’s focus on teachers was too narrow, and have endeavoured, subsequent to the poll, to consult more widely in their research.

Information search is important in supporting the activity of “Tri Dharma PerguruanTinggi”. Student information search results are often found to be very similar to statementsin the reference used. Skills in the use of information reflect the understandingof college librarians against information literacy. The research method used in compilingthis article is by qualitative research. In this research used information tracingmodel with stages namely: starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring, extracting, verifying, and ending. The study was conducted on 143 users from StateUniversity of Padang (UNP) and University of Andalas (Unand). The results showedthat the lecturer is an important source of information for the user to know the initialreference that will be used in the completion of academic tasks. In addition, collegelibrarians have a high dependence on internet resources. In terms of the formulationof information retrieval results, some readers use the full statement in reference. Inother words, the user does not formulate the search results according to his or herunderstanding. However, some others

This research discusses the discourse of the concept of tabayyūn contained in the Qur'ān as an effort to address the dissemination of information on social media. This research is included in qualitative study models as well as using thematic interpretation views using descriptive-analytical methods that will be contextualized with today's phenomenon. This research comes down to the findings, namely that discursus tabayyun in the Qur’ān is one way to verify the dissemination of information to find a valid source of information. Contextualization of the understanding of the concept of tabayyūn, requires scholars who are experts in their fields to speak to clarify information that is considered troubling to society with the support of the power of the ruler in a country. This brings up the efforts of tabayyūn concept on social media by collaborating with various models of information literacy in accordance with existing conditions, in order to create harmonious communication in the middle of people's lives.

Van de Hulst (Paper 64, Table 1) has marked optical polarization as a questionable or marginal source of information concerning magnetic field strengths. Rather than arguing about this–I should rate this method asq+-, or quarrelling about the term ‘model-sensitive results’, I wish to stress the historical point that as recently as two years ago there were still some who questioned that optical polarization was definitely due to magnetically-oriented interstellar particles.

Recent work has drawn attention to the possibilities that small angle electron scattering offers as a source of information about the micro-structure of vacuum condensed films. In particular, this serves as a good detector of discontinuities within the films. A review of a kinematical theory describing the small angle scattering from a thin film composed of discrete particles packed close together will be presented. Such a model could be represented by a set of cylinders packed side by side in a two dimensional fluid-like array, the axis of the cylinders being normal to the film and the length of the cylinders becoming the thickness of the film. The Fourier transform of such an array can be regarded as a ring structure around the central beam in the plane of the film with the usual thickness transform in a direction normal to the film. The intensity profile across the ring structure is related to the radial distribution function of the spacing between cylinders.
