E-government services have become a vital tool to provide citizens with more accessible, accurate and high-quality services and information. E-government system provides an efficient dissemination of information to people and eases people to communicate directly with government services. The utilization of ICT through e-government enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery in the public sector. The system is regarded as one of the vital elements to be a developed country. The application of e-government indicates the readiness and ability of the nation utilizing technology within public administration periscope. Although the Malaysian government has introduced e-government for many years, its acceptance still not very high. Therefore, this paper studies the key factors of Malaysian citizens’ in Sintok, Kedah, a semi- rural area on approval on e-government services based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and the Use of Technology (UTAUT Model). The survey data was collected from 83% respondents to measure people understanding and awareness toward e-government system. The results show that there is an excellent understanding among Malaysian towards e-government system.

Many governments around the world aim seriously to make their services available online and deliver it to their citizens in professional and secure manner. E-government services aims to improve and facilitate the communication between government and citizens by increasing the usage of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in government operations. It will provide all government services in electronic form to all citizens in a timely, easy, high quality and effective manner with great productivity and time savings. However, user acceptance is one of the essential keys for adoption and success of e-government application and services. Many studies emphasize that trust is one of the important factors in the adoption studies of e-government. This paper examines the effect of trust as independent variable of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model on user’s acceptance and use of e-government services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Based on the amended (UTAUT) model we study the impact of trust on the adoption of e-government services form citizens’ perception.

Purpose This study aims to consider the capabilities of information technology as a basing dimension in the success of systems that provide electronic services as an e-government system. This study will focus on the role of IT capabilities in e-government system success by proposing a model based on the integration of the updated DeLone and McLean model is (D&M) with the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology is (UTAUT) model, which includes seven variables, namely, IT capabilities, information quality, system quality, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, perceived support quality and e-government system usage. Design/methodology/approach A conceptual framework was built across a review of the literature and the results of studies of IT capability and e-government systems success has developed the study model. As the causal approach was adopted to test the model of the proposed study. Survey data collected from 765 respondents who use the e-government system in Iraq. Also, a regression approach has been used to test the study model. Findings The results revealed that IT capabilities and the factors included in the “the updated (D&M) and (UTAUT) model” as important forecasts in the success of e-government systems. In another word, the proposed model provides managers with a new perspective to deal with the adoption of the e-government system by introducing a new variable “IT capabilities,” to provide decision-makers with a new approach in determining factors of e-government success. Research limitations/implications The government must develop their policies in line with e-government services to maximize the benefits accrued from e-government services. Where the main determinants in this study were the age group of the sample and the Arab environment for this study. Originality/value This study is the first in Iraq as a developing country and one of the few in e-government that considers IT capabilities as a basing dimension in e-government success by proposing a comprehensive model that sums the factors related to such a relationship. Its value stems from its sample of public users and the support of its proposed framework.

Electronic government are in their early stages in many city in Indonesia. Local government has faced a number of challenges and faced with various issues pertaining to their implementation of e-government services.  This paper utilises the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of technology (UTAUT) model to explore e-government services in Dumai city. The purpose of this paper to present a concept idea to seeing intention to use e-government in Dumai City. The Paper suggest future research with quantitative approach to find aspect to consider in producing significant and credible research findings. This research is expected can help government in improving intention citizens’ use of e-government services. Keywords: E-Government, UTAUT model, Local Government

This study explored the important role of demographic factors such as gender, age, and education in the adoption of mobile government (m-government) services. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model was used as the theoretical foundation whiles the data was captured and analyzed with SPSS and SmartPLS. The results have demonstrated that gender is a significant predictor of both the intention to use and performance expectancy of m-government services. However, gender does not determine mobile self-efficacy. In addition, age and education were both were significant predictors of performance expectancy, mobile self-efficacy and the intention to use m-government services respectively. The implications of these and other findings of the study are thoroughly discussed.

At present, the use of ICT is growing very rapidly. This has led to changes in processes, functions, and policies in various sectors, including the public service sector managed by the government. e-Government is a new mechanism between the government and the community and stakeholders, which involves the implementation of information technology, and aims to improve the quality (quality) of public services. Bandung City is one of the cities that is very intensive in developing the use of ICT in implementing e-Government. The focus of the city government of Bandung is the Government to Citizen (G2C) application model. The application that is still lacking in use is the e-punten application. One important factor for the success of e-Government services is the acceptance and willingness of people to use e-Government services. E-punten application services provided by the Bandung city government will not run perfectly if no people are using it. To assess what factors influence the use of e-punten applications in the city of Bandung, the UTAUT model is used. To analyze the factors that influence the acceptance of e-punten applications SEM analysis is used. In this study, the PLS-SEM approach is used to solve multiple regression when specific problems occur in the data, such as the small sample size of the study. The PLS evaluation is carried out by evaluating the measurement model and the structural model that best suits the UTAUT model. Factors that influence the use of e-punten applications are effort expectancy for behavioral intention, facilitating conditions for use behavior, and behavioral intention for use behavior. The factors that have the most influence are performance expectancy and effort expectancy.

E-Government helps government to accomplish daily administrative activities and provides an easier way to communicate with external entities such as citizens and businesses through utilization of an online portal. Although adoption of e-Government is potentially a route to provision of better services to citizens, it is not clear that citizens will embrace the use of such services, particularly in developing countries. This is because citizens are often concerned about the use of technology due to lack of privacy and trust for any such online transactions. As such, the success and acceptance of e-Government initiatives are contingent upon citizens' willingness to adopt these services. This chapter thus aims to investigate factors that can influence the future use intentions and adoption of e-Government services in Bangladesh by employing the UTAUT model with the proposed constructs of privacy and trust. Findings of this study and implications for research and practice have been discussed.
