Abstract During the COVID-19 pandemic, lecturers carry out online learning and this condition also force student to learn independently. One alternative solution given is online-based problem-solving approach. This approach are suitable implemented in the mathematics Informatics course. The Approach challenges students to be able to express every result of thinking, transform information into various forms of representation, as well as the ability to adapt to online learning during this pandemic. This research is case study research that aims to analyse the Communication Skills, Visual thinking, and Adaptability (COVid) of students in the mathematics informatics course through Online-Based Problem-Solving Approach. This course examines combinatorics and pigeon holes principle. This lesson is useful in the context of making software that requires certain calculations and logic. The subjects of this study were second semester students of the 2020/2021 academic year at the Informatics Study Program at Univeritas Cokroaminoto Palopo. Data was collected by using assignments, questionnaires, and interviews to obtain valid data. The results show that only a few students are able to express every result of thinking, transform information into various forms of representation, as well as the ability to adapt to online learning during this pandemic.

Abstract: This study is aimed to discover the negative impacts on the use of smartphone in children, their causing factors, and the means to minimalize them. This study used a qualitative research method with case study research type. The result of this study showed that the negative impacts of the use smartphone were: (1) addicted to play smartphones, (2) less discipline, (3) frequently told lies, (4) slower in understanding the lesson, and (5) influence on their behaviors. Factors that caused those negative impacts were (1) little supervision and limitation on the use of smartphones from parents, (2) the parents always obey all the students wishes, (3) addicted to online games , and (4) influence from the students’ environment. The means that can be done in order to minimize the negative impacts were (1) the teachers should give the clear schedule of online learning (2) the parents should give time limitation on the use of smartphones, and (3) the parents monitor the applications that used by the students.

Kata kunci: WhatsApp, Pembelajaran, Pandemi, Studi Kasus  AbstractThis study aims to examine the use of WhatsApp in learning activities during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research design used field study research. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were students of the Sharia Economics Law Study Program, Faculty of Sharia, IAIN Metro. In order to find out the enthusiasm of students in using the WhatsApp application in learning activities, a WhatsApp Group was created. Based on research, the Whatsapp application can be used as an online learning media during the pandemic. Even though there is no face to face, the use of WhatsApp is able to make learning feel like face to face in class. Keywords: WhatsApp, Learning, Pandemic, Case Study

This research was conducted at Mathematics Education Study Program at Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculties of IAIN Padangsidimpuan at the third semester 2018-2019 academic year. Research method used is quantitative method with bivariate comparative analysis approach aiming to find out the significant differences in students' mathematical communication skills in statistical subjects. The design of this research is a one short case study  comparing the result of two treatments after the post tests. The research was conducted in one classroom, in which one treatment preceding the other treatment with different materials yet contain similar components and difficulties. The result of the research shows that there is significant difference in ability of mathematical communication between problem based learning and project based learning with tcount > ttable: 3,673 > 2,042; in which PjBL is higher than PBL.  In conclusion, PjBL is significantly better than PBL in term of students’ ability in mathematical communication

This research aimed to identify the kinds of error in the use of Past Tense in writing recount text and the dominant error made by the Second Year Students of SMP Unismuh Makassar. This research is Case Study Research. The research was conducted in SMP Unismuh Makassar. The population was the Second Year Students in Academic Year 2013-2014. The researcher took Class B1 which consists of 19 students. The instrument used was writing test. Writing test was used to find out the kinds of errors made by the students in writing recount text. By using this instrument, the researcher analyzed detail information about the errors in the use of Past Tense in writing recount text. The students' errors were classified into four categories based on the kinds of error. Those are the error of omition with 12 errors, error of addition with 31 errors, error of misformation with 166 errors, and error of misordering with 5 errors. The students made the dominant error in misformation category. It can be seen from the percentage result where misformation were 77,57%, then followed error of addition were 14,48%, error of omition was 5,61%, and misordering were only 2,34%. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Second Year Students(Class B1) of SMP Unismuh Makassar had many errors in writing recount text. The students should be given intensive exercises in the use of Past Tense in writing recount text.  It is quite necessary for the Second Year Students and the English Teacher of SMP Unismuh Makassar to be informed about the result of this research, so they can improve their teaching learning process. Keywords: Error Analysis, recount text, Past Tense, error of misformation.

The research aims to investigate how guided research-based learning (GRBL) helps students of an Elementary Education Study Program (EESP) in carrying out research and preparing scientific articles, besides mastering the fundamental concepts of science. This is an experimental one-shot case study research design, which involved seven master’s degree students from our EESP. The result shows that students’ capability is improved, but they still face difficulties in every step of writing publishable scientific articles.

Qualitative case study research can be a valuable tool for answering complex, real-world questions. This method is often misunderstood or neglected due to a lack of understanding by researchers and reviewers. This tutorial defines the characteristics of qualitative case study research and its application to a broader understanding of stuttering that cannot be defined through other methodologies. This article will describe ways that data can be collected and analyzed.
