Due to present day lifestyle, a greater number of people are inclined to desk work and computer usage leading to many disorders. Manyasthamba is one among such disorders where the stiffness of neck with severe pain is the classical symptom which hampers our day to day life. While explaining treatment of Manyasthamba our Acharyas explained Rukshasweda and Nasya Karma as main line of treatment. Here a study was done by taking Gudashunti Yoga explained in Sharangadara Samhita indicated for Nasya and Kolakulattadi Churna indicated in Vatavyadhi explained in Ashtanga Sangraha for Ruksha Churna Sweda. A comparative clinical study of 40 patients suffering from Manyastambha were selected after thorough investigation. Patients were subjected to Nasya Karma in Group A and Ruksha Sweda and Nasya Karma in Group B for 7 days. Patients were assessed based on standard parameters before and after treatment and 7 days follow up. The statistical analysis revealed that there was a significant improvement in parameters like pain and stiffness. Hence proving the efficacy in the condition.

Charmakeela is one of the Kshudraroga mentioned by Acharya Sushrutha and Vagbhata. Vyanavata combines with Kapha produces piles on the exterior of the skin resembling a nail which is static or immov-able and rough is called as Charmakeela. Based upon the clinical features explained in Ayurveda, Char-makeela can be correlated with that of warts. Objective: The present study was to evaluate the comparative effect of Kadalikshara and Apamargakshara in the management of Charmakeela. Methods: 40 patients were randomly selected and divided into 2 groups. Results: The statistical Analysis the study reveals there is no significant difference between found statistically between Kadalikshara and Apamargakshara, so both KadaliKshara and ApamargaKshara are having same Qualitative Equanimity effect of treatment on the disease. Conclusion: As observed from the results the total removal of Charmakeela was possible in all cases and it proves the authenticity of the classical ayurvedic reference which state that Charmakeela can be removed by the application of Prathisarneeyakshara. In this study the action of the drugs KadaliKshara and ApamargaKshara on the removal of Charmakeelais well established. The clearance may be faster in case of thin lesions and it may be slower in case of thicker lesion because of variations in the thickness of morbid growth in all patient, removal of lesion of Charmakeela there may be slight blackish brown discol-ouration occurs at the site of lesion was observed. This may be considered as Samyakdagdhalaxanas of Kshara Karma which will disappear gradually.

ABSTRACT Background Impression techniques have evolved considerably during the last decade. However, it needs to be assessed whether the retention achieved with these techniques is adequate enough to establish them as an alternative to the conventional techniques. Purpose This study was planned to evaluate the retention of denture bases fabricated using the selective pressure, functional and Massad's impression techniques. Materials and methods Twenty completely edentulous patients were selected and each of them was subjected to three definitive impression techniques: selective pressure, functional and Massad's techniques. The permanent bases were fabricated and checked for retention with a custom made retention checking apparatus. The load required to dislodge the denture base fabricated using each technique, from the maxillary foundation was recorded and this data was subjected to statistical analysis. Results The statistical analysis shows that the difference between the selective pressure and the functional impression technique is statistically significant (p = 0.046) However, this result needs verification by collecting more data or designing another study, since the observed p-value is closer to the significance level (i.e. 0.05). Though the difference between the means of Massad's and functional techniques is of 39 gm, it is statistically not significant (p = 0.09). The difference between means load to dislodge denture bases for selective pressure and Massad's techniques (5.5 gm) is not statistically significant (p = 0.95). Conclusion The three impression techniques yielded adequately retentive permanent denture bases. However, retention of the denture bases obtained from the selective pressure impression technique was best, followed by the Massad's and functional techniques. Clinical implication The results of this study indicated that the denture bases fabricated using selective pressure impression technique were more retentive than the Massad's and the Functional impression technique. A study was conducted to access clinical efficacy of ‘Kharjooradi Mantha in the enhancement of Ojo Guna in the subjects of Madatyaya. As Madhya has 10 Gunas which are exactly opposite to the 10 Gunas of Ojas. 35 patients of Madatyaya were selected by simple random sampling method. Kharjooradi Mantha was given in two divided doses once in the morning and evening after food with Jala as Anupana for duration of 28 days. Gradation scale was used depending upon their severity to assess the effect of the treatment objectively and to monitor the disease; however at the time of statistical analysis the outcome was statistically analyzed i.e. before treatment and after treatment by using Descriptive Statistics, Chi squares test and Cramer’s V by using windows SPSS Software. It was revealed that Kharjooradi Mantha was effective in the enhancement of Ojo Guna in the subjects of Madatyayia. It significantly reduced the symptoms such as Chardi, Aruchi, Hrullasa, Tandra, Staimitya, Gaurava, Hikka, Svasa, Kasa, Pralapa, Sirakampa, Parashvashola, Nidranasha, Trsna, Daha, Dourbalya, Murcha and Sweda. Kharjooradi Mantha did the Tarpana, Agnideepana and Anulomana there by increasing the Ojo Gunas.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of neuroclusal rehabilitation treatment using Planas Direct for posterior crossbite correction. Methods: This is a clinical study in which 43 children were selected, of both sexes, between 3 and 6 years old, diagnosed with posterior crossbite and midline deviation. Interviews were conducted with the parents in order to ascertain the practice of harmful habits. The treatment was based on neuroclusal rehabilitation in order to investigate and eliminate the occlusal obstacles which depreciate the stomatognathic system. The aim of the study was also to reprogram the affected neuromuscular activity. Planas direct were performed on crossed teeth in order to restructure the neuroclusal area and the stomatognathic system, as well. Epi Info software, 3.5.4 for Windows, through the distribution of frequencies and the Pearson chi-square test were used for statistical analysis. Results: Occlusal restoration in 79% of children was performed however 21% abandoned treatment. The crossbite and midline correction period ranged from from 14° to the 91° treatment. Significant associations of the variables were observed as follows: deleterious habits (p = 0.0001) and midline deviation (p = 0.0001) at the beginning or end of treatment. Conclusion: It was concluded that the neuroclusal rehabilitation and Direct Slopes Planas were effective in correcting the posterior crossbite.
