AbstractFRET imaging is an essential analytical method in biomedical research. The limited photon-budget experimentally available, however, imposes compromises between spatiotemporal and biochemical resolutions, photodamage and phototoxicity. The study of photon-statistics in biochemical imaging is thus important in guiding the efficient design of instrumentation and assays. Here, we show a comparative analysis of photon-statistics in FRET imaging demonstrating how the precision of FRET imaging varies vastly with imaging parameters. Therefore, we provide analytical and numerical tools for assay optimization. FLIM is a very robust technique with excellent photon-efficiencies but also intensity-based FRET imaging can reach very high precision by utilizing also information within acceptor fluorescence.

In the theoretical analysis of porous bearings the journal has so far been assumed to be ideal, that is perfectly cylindrical. In the present analysis the geometric irregularities of the journal, such as circumferential undulations and barrel/bellmouth shapes, are taken into account. The permeability variation along the length of the bearing as found in commercial bearings has also been taken into account. The present analysis reveals that, at the critical Sommerfeld number, the friction is very low compared to the very high value for an ideal journal. The present analysis also reveals that the friction and the attitude angle are lower for any Sommerfeld number and that the load-carrying capacity is lower for any eccentricity ratio than that for an ideal journal.

This work makes a comparative study of two methods to determine deflection in steel beams: (a) Theoretical and (b) Finite element. For method (a) the solution of the differential equation associated with the modeling of the deflection of a beam is found, while for method (b) a simulation is made in Solidworks. Both methods are compared with experimental data in order to analyze which of the methods presents less uncertainty and show the usefulness of the theoretical part in the modeling of physical systems.

Abstract

The teachings of Islam for the Sasak people get a very high place in carrying out their daily religious life in accordance with the teachings of their religion. The purpose of this study is to analyze theoretical analysis on Islamic religious traditions that have existed in the Sasak community since the beginning of their entry, placing more emphasis on strengthening religious practices or rituals that at a glance place great importance on religious expression. This research method uses the library research method about the role of the Nahdlatul Wathan Islamic mass organization figure in Lombok. The results showed that Nahdlatul Wathan focused on three areas of development, namely education, social and da'wah. The presence of Tuan Guru on the island of a thousand mosques gives a different feel. This article presents the results of a theoretical study of self-realisation, self-actualisation and self-efficacy phenomena. The main aspects of understanding and correlating these phenomena in classical and modern Russian and foreign psychology are described. The highlighted concepts related to the phenomenon of self-realisation, both in the field of psychology and pedagogy. The similarities and differences of the self-realisation, self-actualisation, self-efficacy phenomena, as well as their correlation and comparison are presented. A comparative analysis of the studied concepts is given. According to the results of the theoretical analysis, the processes of self-realisation and self-actualisation are based on the inner motivation of a person to grow, develop personality, realise its potential. Both of these processes, due to their subjectivity, are difficult to observe and measure from the outside. We have highlighted the main differences, consisting in a greater awareness and orderliness of the process of self-realisation, as well as its predominantly "social" orientation, while self-actualisation is often associated with the struggle with external forces, the desire for self-realisation is rather approved and supported by the society. The concepts of self-realisation and self-efficacy are united by their inherent representation in the external plane of the life of the individual, as well as awareness, activity, goal-setting, and an orientation towards achieving success. In contrast to self-efficacy, self-release is a process rather than a sustainable phenomenon, and can be expressed both externally and internally through a connection with the value-semantic, motivational spheres of the individual.

One of the oldest and most dangerous criminal offences is hooliganism, i.e. an unlawful offence with intention to violate a public order, disrupt the peace of inhabitants or create a disorder. Disturbers of public recreation, as well as those who commit offences against other people are often referred to as hooligans in social life. Today, hooliganism is still considered as one of the most common types of criminal offences, although the number of these offences tend to decrease. Considering the legal issues related to hooliganism as important and topical, I have chosen this subject for this article. The publication will deal with the following issues: the criminal judicial understanding of the concept ‘hooliganism’; the types of hooliganism – petty hooliganism as an administrative violation, criminally punishable hooliganism; as well as the prevention of hooliganism – general and special. The methodological basis of the research is composed of a dialectic method of scientific examination, method of general theoretical analysis (analysis, synthesis, abstraction, induction, deduction) and individual scientific (special) methods such as historical, comparative analysis.

A suitable metric to describe human exposure to microwaves emitted by wireless communication devices is still incomplete. By using both theoretical analysis and experimental validation (in controlled and real deployed networks), we analyze and compare the specificity of exposure due to data transmissions in different configurations of fourth and fifth generation wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) standards in the proximity of a mobile device. Measurements made use of the capability of the amplitude probability density incorporated in a real-time spectrum analyzer, proving its agility of highlighting different user exposure profiles. The results are presented comparatively and indicate that, in Wi-Fi networks, the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) should be used together with the duty cycle for an improved exposure assessment. The present work introduces the emitted energy density per bit in describing the user’s exposure to Wi-Fi signals and proves its superiority in characterizing the true levels of exposure for the IEEE 802.11n and 802.11ac standards of communication.

60GHz signal has very high time resolution and multipath resolution, thus having the potential of achieving high accuracy ranging and positioning at centimeter level or even millimeter level. This technology has great application value in fields like indoor robot navigation, hazardous area monitoring and accurate positioning. In this paper, after designing the pulse-based 60GHz wireless communication system, we proposed a pulse-based 60GHz ranging system. Theoretical analysis and simulations demonstrate that the proposed system can achieve good ranging performance.
