Purpose The purpose of this paper is threefold: to study the classroom practices followed by the government and private school teachers in handling children with learning disabilities; to study the differences in practice levels of government and private school teachers with respect to learning disabilities among children; and to study the influence of Socio-demographic factors of teachers on the level of their classroom practices toward learning disabilities in children. Design/methodology/approach As per the questionnaire development, the present study consisted of a self-developed tool (appendix) by the researcher, to assess the classroom practices of the teachers toward learning disabilities in children. In sum, 10 percent of the total sample size was considered for the pilot study, to know the feasibility, reliability and validity of the developed tool. The sampling technique used was convenient sampling. The data were collected through the survey method from 40 government and 40 private school teachers. Findings Both groups of teachers had low to moderate levels of practice with respect to handling children with learning disabilities in the classrooms. The findings disclosed significant association between demographic variables like monthly income, place of residence, and present school experience and selected features related to learning disabilities. A significant association was observed with teachers’ gender, having special training on handling children with learning disabilities and having children with learning disabilities in the classroom. A significant association was also found between schools offering regular training programs for teachers on teaching, handling and awareness of learning disabilities and practice level of the respondents. Research limitations/implications The study is limited to the assessment of classroom Practices of government and private primary school teachers toward learning disabilities in children. Practical implications The researcher, on the basis of the findings of the present study, suggests that trainings/workshops/intervention measure for teachers are much needed in order to help them in identifying and handling children with LD in a regular classroom especially at the primary level. Social implications Trainings can be provided in the areas of teaching skills, inclusive education, intervention measures/managing children with learning disabilities in the classroom, special education, counseling, classroom habits of a teacher, etc. This will ensure that teachers are empowered thus becoming powerful, operative and competent in teaching children with different needs and handling the uniqueness of each and every child. The school organizations and the government authorities can be informed on the need for such measures. This study recommends that there is a need for improving the classroom practice of teachers, in order to help children, benefit and get equal opportunities as their non-disabled peers. Originality/value This research paper is based on the findings collected from 80 primary teachers from various schools across the city.

Classroom management is terms used by teachers to describe the process of make sure that classroom lessons run easily in spite of troublesome activities by students. Today, educators are anticipated to manifest a high degree of specialized competence, and therefore to be able to manage their classes in such a way that students originate the maximum benefit from their schooling. The study aimed to examine the comparative study on classroom management techniques among government and private school teachers. The investigator adopted survey method to study the classroom management techniques among government and private school teachers. For this study a sample of 300 school teachers from six various schools which are situated in Coimbatore district selected by the investigator using simple random sampling technique. The findings revealed that there is no impact of demographic variables were found both on  emotional competency and class room management techniques among school teachers and there is no relationship was found between emotional competency and class room management techniques among school teachers.

The current study investigated relationship between Organizational climate and Job Performance of school Teachers. Descriptive Survey method is used for the research to accomplish the objective of the study. A sample of 116 higher secondary school teachers working in private schools were taken from Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh by convenience sampling technique. Mean, Standard deviation and Pearson Product Moment Correlation is used for analyzing the collecting data. The findings revealed that the reoccurs a significant correlation between Organizational Climate and Job Performance towards school teachers.

Purpose The 2030 Agenda and the sustainable development goals (SDG) have gained considerable attention in research and public debate. This calls for accounting research on the subject of SDG disclosure. Based on this premise, this paper aims to evaluate and analyze the extent of SDG reporting by 80 listed firms from 8 selected African countries for the period of 2016 to 2018. Design/methodology/approach The study adopts a content analysis and survey method to evaluate the extent of SDG reporting by the selected African countries. This paper conducted content analysis through the use of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) framework and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework to gauge the extent of firms’ compliance with SDG reporting. Also, this paper uses the business reporting indicators for each SDG developed by GRI to determine the compliance level of the selected firms regarding SDG reporting. The survey was targeted at the big four audit firms (PwC, KPMG, Ernst and Young and Deloitte and Touche). Findings The evaluation of SDG disclosure by the 80 listed firms in Africa is still at a very low level except for South African firms. Also, the findings of the business reporting indicators for each SDG target show that most of the firms show little or no concern to report on SDG activities. The result of the research survey indicates that voluntary disclosure, lack of management commitment, lack of regulatory enforcement and cost implications account for low SDG disclosure by the selected African firms. Research limitations/implications This study fails to consider the qualitative research approach in determining the extent of SDG disclosure in Africa, as the study did not allow respondents to freely express their opinion on SDG disclosure, as a large part of the survey used close-ended questionnaires. Practical implications This study’s findings call for clear responsibility and a strong drive for SDG performance from corporate institutions in Africa. While the overall responsibility rests on the government, the actualization of SDG cannot be achieved without support from corporate organizations. The empirical approach used in this study emphasizes the need for corporate organizations to embrace sustainable practices and to integrate SDG information into their reporting cycle. Originality/value This study contributes to growing literature in the area of corporate reporting, sustainability reporting and SDG research in Africa and other emerging economies. Also, this study provides original insight into the contribution of accounting research toward the achievement of SDG.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on indigenous contractors in a developing economy with a view to enhancing their performance. Design/methodology/approach The study used a purposive sampling technique to select 37 indigenous contractors with ongoing construction contracts in Osun State, Nigeria who provided data for the study. A structured interview protocol was used to elicit the required information from the interviewees and frequency, percentage and content analysis were used for data analysis. Findings The results showed that the critical impact of COVID-19 on indigenous contractors in a developing economy is: time overrun, loss of profit and creation of dispute. Further results showed that other impacts are a disruption in supply of labour, locally sourced materials are with additional cost, the additional cost of implementing COVID-19 protocols, difficulty in sourcing imported materials and absence of new jobs with the corresponding retrenchment of workers. Practical implications The study recommended special palliatives for the indigenous contractors from the government so as to cushion the impact of the pandemic on them, thereby enhance their survival and performance. A special arbitration panel is set up in each state of the federation to look at disputes arising from the aftermath of the pandemic, this is with a view to adequately compensate indigenous contractors with genuine and properly compiled claims. inferring from the findings of the study, it suffices to say that the severity of the impact of the pandemic is very high on indigenous contractors in developing economies, as such a better preparedness strategy could lessen the impact of such pandemic in the future. Originality/value The study is an attempt to unearth the impact of COVID-19 on indigenous contractors with ongoing construction contracts in a developing economy. The study will be of value to construction stakeholders in providing the information needed to devise strategies to minimise the impact of a pandemic on indigenous contractors in future projects thereby enhance their performance.

Producing and trading of green fodder are recognised as a profitable venture in many parts of the country, but data and information in this aspect are very scanty. The study determined the income coefficient of fodder farm households to study the fodder marketing and processing in different locations, and highlighted farmers problems related to fodder marketing and processing. In this regard, four study areas were selected from four districts viz: Dinajpur, Jessore, Kurigram and Rangpur purposively considering the concentration of fodder production and marketing. A purposive sampling technique was followed for collecting primary data from the field. In the study 3 categories of sample farmers were selected namely: i) Fodder Producer cum seller; ii) Fodder Producer cum Dairy owner having 1-2 dairy cows as small, 3-4 dairy cows as medium and 5 and above dairy cows as large farmer and iii) Fodder Middlemen. A total of 200 fodder farmers were interviewed. Field survey method and focus group discussions were followed to collect necessary data and information. Descriptive statistics and Cobb Douglas type revenue function were applied to meet the objectives and to get the desirable outputs. Functional analysis revealed that fodder sale and livestock rearing and fodder business significantly contributed to the household income of the fodder farmers and middlemen. The dairy farmers having 1-2, 3-4 and 4-5 cross-bred dairy cattle earned Tk. 1,20,227, Tk. 1,91,728 and Tk. 4,17,287, respectively, whereas local cattle earned Tk. 33, 658, Tk. 51,601 and Tk. 1,13,558, respectively from milk sell annually. It was found that fodder middlemen’s income from fodder business highest in Kurigram district and lowest in Jessore district. Fodder processing was not happened in the study areas. Main marketing channels were: (i) Producer cum seller-Dairy owner and (ii) Producer cum seller-Fodder Middlemen-Dairy owner. Fodder farmers faced various socioeconomic problems during its processing and marketing. The major problems were the lack of HYV fodder species, lack of knowledge, lack of input facilities, and lack of marketing facilities. The government should provide HYV fodder, cultivation training, preservation technique, and organized market to the fodder farmers in the study areas. <p>Special Unit for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) is an institution established by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 9 of 2013 on the Management of Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities. The task of SKK Migas is to manage the upstream oil and gas business activities based on cooperation contracts. The purpose of the establishment of this institution so that retrieval of natural resources of oil and gas owned by the State can provide maximum benefit and acceptance for the state to the greatest prosperity of the people. Based on these tasks and objectives, SKK Migas is responsible to the state and all Indonesian people to work properly, honestly, fairly, cleanly, transparently and competently in order to achieve good governance of state institutions. Therefore, internal monitoring (internal audit) and accountability of its human resources are required. This research has a purpose to test the influence of internal audit and human resource accountability to the achievement of good governance at SKK Migas institution. This research uses survey method with population of all staffs of SKK Migas. Sampling method used is sampling with purposive sampling technique. In this study, 145 samples were taken. Methods of data collection was done by using questionnaires containing several questions with the method of data analysis using multiple regression. The result of this research is to accept both hypothesis which is internal audit have positive effect toward the achievement of good governance in SKK Migas. And the accountability of human resources positively affect the achievement of good governance in SKK Migas.</p>

This study was conducted to determine the level of awareness of Corporate Social Responsibility of selected private school teachers in Camarines Norte, 176 teachers provided the necessary data to accomplish this feat and were done through the administration of questionnaire and interviews to get additional information. The study employed a descriptive survey method of research. The study revealed the following: (1) there are more female respondents than males, 52 percent and 48 percent respectively, 62 percent are 30 years old and younger, which gained the largest concentration. All the respondents have completed tertiary education and 63 percent of the respondents have tenures of 10 years or less. (2) The level of awareness on CSR is highly aware in terms of both ethical and philanthropic areas. (3) The measure that may be formulated in order to still improve and maintain the knowledge, awareness and involvement of corporate social responsibility of the teachers are to keeping purposeful track of the teacher’s core CSR values orientation and regular seminars and workshops aimed to improve the understanding of corporate social responsibility. Based on the findings of the study, it may be concluded that the respondents have ample awareness in corporate social responsibility.

The problem and the aim of the study: The rapid growth in technologies and the threat of COVID-19 pandemic have brought remarkable changes in the twenty-first century. Corona pandemic has caused a series of transformations in the different spheres of social, political, labor,  economic and educational life. Different governments have launched emergency policy initiatives based on the suspension of classes and the closure of educational centers to continue teaching activities from homes through the use of information and communication, which led to the emergence of new skills that the teacher should possess in order to keep pace with modern developments and to continue with the student learning process. The primary school teacher is required to develop his soft skills with quality and efficiency, to be in line with the great technological renaissance the world is witnessing in the field of teaching, knowledge and culture, and to realize that one of his new tasks is to be a guide, facilitator and assistant for students to learn by themselves. Accordingly, the study aimed at finding out the degree to which primary school teachers in Amman Governorate, possess soft skills in light of Coronavirus pandemic from the viewpoint of their principals. Research methods: The researcher reviewed the related literature to narrow the topic and aggregate the theoretical and empirical research related to the topic. The descriptive survey method was used in the study in addition to a 41- item questionnaire distinctly developed for gathering data. Reliability and validity of these items were checked by applying it to a pilot group of 30 principals selected randomly. (837) male and female principals from Amman governorate were selected as a study population. The sample of the study was (228) principals who were randomly selected, and constitutes (27%) of the study population.The results of the study were obtained through appropriate statistical analyses, then  analyzed and discussed according to the questions of the study. Results: The results showed that the degree to which primary school teachers' possess soft skills was high. The results also indicated that there is a statistically significant difference according to gender variable in favor of females, while there are no statistically significant differences attributed to experience variable and the interaction between gender and experience. Conclusion: the study pointed out that the importance of soft-skills for teachers has got more importance under COVID-19 pandemic crisis, as utilizing soft skills in teaching will improve the quality of educational results. There is a need to create awareness among the teachers about the importance of soft skills for career advancement and how to develop and practice such skills. schools should carefully review and incorporate the desired soft skills into their curricula. However, they should also continue running specialized training workshops to help teachers further improve their soft skills. It is equally important that teachers should also make efforts for improving their skills level through self-directed readings and participation in appropriate skills development programs and activities.

Purpose The purpose of this study are: to study the difference between halal awareness and halal certified awareness, and the relationship between the two variables; to study the differences in knowledge about halal and halal certified, as well as their relationship with halal awareness and halal certified awareness; and to build and test research models regarding factors that affect certified halal awareness. Design/methodology/approach The target population is Muslims who live in Indonesia and are 18 years old or more. The self-administered survey method is carried out based on a purposive sampling technique. The authors collect data from 428 Muslim respondents in Indonesia through an online survey. This study applies the partial least square–structural equation model to examine causal relationships and test hypotheses. Findings This study reveals several results: halal awareness is a different concept from halal-certified awareness; knowledge of halal is a different concept from knowledge of halal certificates; awareness is an outcome of knowledge, but knowledge is not an outcome of awareness; halal awareness has a significant effect on halal-certified awareness; knowledge about halal certificates has a significant effect on halal-certified awareness, but knowledge about halal does not have a significant effect; knowledge of halal certificates is not influenced by knowledge of halal and halal awareness; and exposure and religious commitment have a significant role in increasing knowledge and awareness. Originality/value Research that explores the difference between halal awareness and halal certified awareness, and Muslim knowledge about halal and halal certified, especially in the context of halal-certified food, is still very limited in the literature provided, if not unavailable. Furthermore, this study also builds and tests research models regarding the factors that affect certified halal awareness, which is limited or may not have been found in the literature.

Background: Diarrhea and acute respiratory tract infection are the commonest cause of morbidity and mortality in Nepal. Proper hand washing techniques help to reduce the incidence of diarrhea and acute respiratory infection in children.Objective: Objective of this study was to identify hand washing knowledge and practice among school children of Duwakot, Bhaktapur.Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study conducted among 340 students of grade V, VI and VII from both the government and private schools of Duwakot, Bhaktapur. Convenient sampling technique was applied in government schools (due to less number of students) whereas students were randomly selected from private school (due to large number).Result: All the students had knowledge about the hand washing technique before meal and after defecation. Almost all (99.4%) students reported that they wash hand before meal and 92.4% students reported that they practiced hand washing after defecation. But, only 8.5% students at school and 47% students at home regularly washed hand with soap and water. However 91.6% students at school and 81% students at home washed hand only by water due to unavailability of soap.Conclusion: Although students had hand washing knowledge; proper hand washing practices was lagging behind.
