Purpose – In this paper, the authors offer a methodological discussion and examples of visual analysis processes. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate a data analysis method that the authors named layered textural analysis, which brought together images and texts in ways that changed existing and decontextualized understandings. The authors used layered textural analysis to interpret photo-narratives from a photo elicitation study about the development of intercultural sensitivity in US study abroad students. Design/methodology/approach – Layered textural analysis, as carried out in this study, consisted of structural analysis of narratives present in interview text, visual analysis of the photos, and guiding questions related to the content and relationship of the photos and narratives. Findings – Individual experiences, images, and texts reflect complex connections between matter and thought. The multilayered analysis led to complex understandings and representations of participants’ learning and interpretation of cultural differences, and allowed us to examine photo-narrative events and participants’ individual meaning-making processes. Originality/value – Visual researchers rarely write about their processes of analysis in sufficient epistemological and methodological detail. Transparency about data analysis may inspire other scholars to experiment with data analysis approaches. The authors share layered textural analysis so that qualitative researchers can gain ideas for their own reflexive analytic techniques and to exemplify how multilayered analysis methods can change understandings of data and work against simplified knowledges.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the influence of competence and organizational culture through organization commitmen and its impact on employee performance to the PT. Perta Arun Gas of Lhokseumawe Regency. The data used is primary data by distributing questionnaires to 67 employees of the PT. Perta Arun Gas of Lhokseumawe Regency. Data analysis method used is path analysis and processed with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) application program. The result of the research shows that there is influence of competence and organizational culture to organization commitmen, and there is also influence of competence and organizational commitment toward employee performance, however organization culture is not influuence of employee performan PT. Perta Arun Gas of Lhokseumawe Regency. Furthermore, the results of the study found that organization commitmen variables mediate the absolute (full mediation) relationship of competence to the employee performance at the PT. This study aims to determine the relationship of emotional intelligence with anxiety reduction in students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Institut Kesehatan Helvetia Medan 2016/2017. This study used quantitative approach. Measuring instruments used in the form of emotional intelligence scales are based on the theory of emotional intelligence by Goleman who has 30 items and anxiety reduction scales that are based on Conroy's theory have 30 items. The samples of this study were 80 students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Institut Kesehatan Helvetia. The data analysis method used in this study is the Pearson Product Moment correlation with the correlation r = -0,649, with a significant p = 0,000 means (p <0.01). The results of the research showed that there was negative but significant correlation between emotional intelligence and student anxiety reduction. This shows that the higher emotional intelligence possessed by students, the easier it is to anxiety reduction, and the lower the emotional intelligence possessed by students, the more difficult it is to anxiety reduction.

Abstract : This study aims to determine the influence of competence and work motivation through organizational commitment and its impact on teacher performance to the vocational high school North Aceh. The data used is primary data by distributing questionnaires to 74 teacher of the vocational high school North Aceh. Data analysis method used is path analysis and processed with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) application program. The result of the research shows that there is influence of competence and work motivation to organization commitment, and there is also influence of competence, work motivatin and organizational commitment toward teacher performance of the vocational high school North Aceh. Furthermore, the results of the study found that organization commitment variables mediate the absolute (full mediation) relationship of competence and work motivation to the teacher performance to the vocational high school North Aceh. Keywords : Competence, Work Motivation, Organizational Commitment, and  Teacher Performance.

compensation is one of the implementations of HRM functions that are closely related to all types of awards that aim to increase work passion and job satisfaction. Compensation is deemed important in order to avoid negative prejudices arising from a sense of injustice between management and the labor force. This study aims to find out to analyze the relationship of compensation to Job Satisfaction. Data analysis method in this study uses regression analysis by involving all employees as many as 94 employees. The results showed that compensation had a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction.

Abstrak: Cuaca dan iklim merupakan sebuah proses fenomena di atmosfer yang keberadaannya sangat penting dalam berbagai aktivitas kehidupan. Perhatian mengenai informasi cuaca dan iklim semakin meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya fenomena alam yang tidak lazim terjadi atau biasa disebut dengan cuaca ekstrim yang sulit untuk dikendalikan dan dimodifikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola dan intensitas curah hujan berdasarkan data TRMM di Sulawesi Tenggara berdasarkan aspek temporal. Metode analisis data yaitu analisis korelasi dan uji signifikan untuk mengetahui hubungan data TRMM dengan data stasiun curah hujan, serta menggunakan persamaan Mononobe untuk intensitas curah hujan. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa pola hujan di Sulawesi Tenggara merupakan pola region A tipe monsunal dengan ciri terjadi puncak musim hujan yang terjadi antara bulan Desember, Januari, Februari dan puncak musim kemarau terjadi antara Bulan Agustus dan September. Kecendrungan intensitas curah hujan mengalami kenaikan dengan kala ulang yang lebih lama. Kata Kunci: Curah Hujan, TRMM, Monsunal Abstract: Weather and climate are a process of phenomena in the atmosphere whose existence is very important in various activities life. Concern about weather and climate information is increasing along with the increase in natural phenomena that are not uncommon or commonly referred to as extreme weather that are difficult to control and modify . This study aims to determine rainfall patterns and intensity based on TRMM data in Southeast Sulawesi based on temporal aspects. Data analysis method is correlation analysis and significant test to determine the relationship of TRMM data with rainfall station data, and using the Mononobe equation for rainfall intensity. The results of this study found that the pattern of rain in Southeast Sulawesi is a type of Region A Monsunal pattern characterized by the peak of the rainy season which occurs between December, January, February and the peak of the dry season occurs between August and September. The intensity of rainfall increases with a longer return period. Keywords: Precipitation, TRMM, Monsoonal

This study aimed to examine the effect of demographic factors and organizational climate on the intention of internal whistleblowing. The sample was an accountant who had worked as an auditor. Data collection methods using questionnaires with financial statement fraud case scenarios. This research use ANOVA data analysis method to examine demographic factors include age, gender, and experience, as well as organizational climate on the intention of internal whistleblowing. The results showed only the experience of demographic factors that influence internal whistleblowing. Besides internal whistlelowing also influenced by organizational climate in the company.Keyword: Demographics, Organizational Climate, Whistleblowing

This study aims to describe 1) the form of cohesion contained in the news Watching Sakinah Movies, UIN Yogyakarta Give Praise Students and 2) describing the forms of coherence contained in the news Watching Sakinah Film, Students of UIN Yogyakarta Give Praise. The subjects used in this study were news of watching Sakinah film, UIN Yogyakarta students giving praise, and the objects used were sentences containing grammatical cohesion, a form of lexical cohesion. The approach used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study are sentences in the news of Watching Sakinah Movies, This student is a method of literature study. While the method of data analysis in this study is descriptive method analysis method, the method used to analyze and describe cohesion markers and analyze markers of coherence. Test The results of the study show that in the news of watching Sakinah films, UIN Yogyakarta Beri Pujian students have varied markers of cohesion and coherence in the Tebuireng Online news discourse. Cohesion markers were found to reference (3), substitution (1), ellipsis (2), conjunction (3), collocation (1), and markers of coherence found cause-effect relationships (2), relationship coherence suggestions — goals (1), coherence temporal relations (1), and coherence of causal relationships (1).

Background. In this research, we aimed to investigate the effects of outdoor camps on orienteering athletes. Methods. The study group consisted of 74 athletes (44 males and 30 females, aged 11.94 ± 1.32 years) who participated in Bolu outdoor camp on the 3 rd –13 th of August, 2015. Interview technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used as data collection tool and content analysis method was used for data analysis. Results. Demographic factors were interpreted after the analysis of the obtained data and three main research questions were discussed under the topics of the views of athletes about the concept of Orienteering which is an outdoor sport, themes and codes regarding the purpose of Orienteering by the students who participated in the outdoor camp, and themes and codes about the outcomes of Orienteering for the students who participated in outdoor camps. Conclusion. It is suggested that a policy must be developed within the Ministry of Youth and Sport and Sport Federations in order to disseminate more deliberate and more comprehensive outdoor education among young people and measures should be taken to provide extensive participation.

The concept of entrepreneurial orientation, which emerges with the development of strategic management, refers to entrepreneurship orientations of businesses. The businesses need resources in other words organizational slack in order to develop their entrepreneurial trends. The organizational slack consists of three slack type. These slack types are available slack, recoverable slack and potential slack. The purpose of this study is to examine whether organizational slack in the businesses has an effect on entrepreneurial orientation. The relationship between organizational slack and entrepreneurial orientation was investigated through 20 companies that were traded in Borsa Istanbul Corporate Governance Index for 2010-2014 period using panel data analysis method. The results of the study indicate the existence of a statistically significant relationship between and the available slack and the recoverable slack with the entrepreneurial orientation in the businesses. According to findings; there was no statistically significant relationship between potential slack and entrepreneurial orientation.
