Egg air cell and nest air temperatures, measured in nests of wild northern shovelers near Delta, Manitoba, Canada, averaged 36.1 and 32.0 °C, respectively. Mean brood patch temperature of one captive incubating hen was 39.5 °C. Body temperature of 16 wild incubating hens averaged 41.1 °C. An egg cooling rate of 0.22 °C/1 °C h−1 was calculated from temperature records of 170 incubation recesses. Factors affecting egg cooling during recesses were investigated using multiple regression analysis. Statements in the literature that incubation by Anatidae begins upon termination of laying are not supported by available data. Incubation by waterfowl, as in passerines, apparently begins gradually during the laying period. Air and ground temperatures, by influencing egg cooling rates during incubation, may have been important ultimate factors determining the breeding range and timing of the breeding season for the northern shoveler.

The research on factors that affect employee motivation at Bentre Import Export Joint- stock Corporation (Betrimex) has special significance in motivating employees, attracting and retaining talent, thereby helping the Corporation improve work performance. During the research, 300 employees working at Betrimex were surveyed and 250 employees with valid answer sheets were selected, survey data was processed with the SPSS software and the research model through scale reliability analysis, exploratory data analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis was tested. The research results have shown 07 factors affecting employee motivation at Betrimex, measured through 37 observed variables and including the pay, bonuses, benefits, allowances, working conditions, relationships with colleagues and relationships with superiors. Where the pay (b = 0.403) is the factor that has the most powerful influence on employee motivation and working conditions (b = 0.171) have the least influence on employee motivation. The results of multiple regression analysis have also showed that the adjusted R2 is 0.732. Thus, 07 independent variables can explain 73.2% of the variations of the dependent variables. Also, the research results have tremendous implications for developing strategies and plans for human resources development of Betrimex in the future.

Escape from predators by desert iguanas (Dipsosaurus dorsalis) conforms to predictions of optimal escape theory based on risk. I simulated an approaching predator to study risk factors. The primary response variable was approach distance (= flight-initiation distance), i.e., the distance between predator and prey when the prey initiates escape. In additional studies, I recorded whether lizards permitted me to approach close enough to noose them (an indicator of wariness) and the method of escape. Approach distance was greater when the predator approached rapidly than slowly and directly than indirectly, and when the predator turned toward the lizard rather than away. It was greater in open than in more densely covered habitats, which may reflect greater risk due to conspicuousness and (or) a greater distance to refuge. Early in the day at lower air temperatures, desert iguanas permitted a closer approach before initiating escape. While basking after emergence from burrows, lizards escaped into burrows; later in the day they fled. Lizards that fled had high body temperatures; a single individual captured immediately after entering a burrow had a lower body temperature. Lizards presumably enter burrows when low body temperature limits the running speed, but burrow use is costly because attainment of the activity temperature is delayed because of time elapsed and the temperature decrease in burrows.

The objective of the study is to obtain empirical evidence of factors affecting the volume of financing based on cost sharing and the ratio of BOPO to Sharia Banking. The number of population in this study is the number of units analyzed consisting of all Islamic banks in Indonesia either BUS, UUS or BPRS. The method of selecting the sample used is purposive sampling. Testing using multiple regression analysis. The result of the research shows that there is influence of DPK to funding based on the result of mudharabah and musyarakah in both syariah banking institution in Indonesia. There is an effect of earnings on financing based on the sharing of mudharabah and musharaka in both Islamic banking institutions in Indonesia. There is no effect of NPF/non-performing financing on Mudharabah-based finance sharing in BUS in Indonesia. However, the NPF has a significant effect on mudharabah-based revenue sharing at the SRB. There is no effect of NPF / non-performing financing on the musharaka-based financing of the BUS in Indonesia. However, the NPF has a significant effect on the musharaka-based sharing financing in the SRB. There is no effect of interest rate on cost sharing based on mudharabah and musyarakah result in sharia banking in Indonesia. There is a funding effect based on the results of mudharabah and musyarakah on the ratio of BOPO in both Islamic banking institutions in Indonesia.

The green building (GB) can be defined as the method of increasing the efficiency of the building and site. However, the spillover effect of GB price in Malaysia has not widely been discovered as there are limited case studies on this issue. This paper attempts to determine the significant factors that influence the GB price. The empirical experiment has been conducted to test the Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) model on a real dataset of house prices in the area of Klang Valley, Selangor with GB specifications. The result showed that factors related to tenure have significant contributions to the GB price

Background and Objectives: Pain affects psychological stress and general health in the working population. However, the factors affecting psychological job stress related to chronic pain are unclear. This study aimed to clarify the structural differences among factors affecting psychological job stress in workers with chronic pain and those without pain. Materials and Methods: A stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed the differences in structure between the psychological stress of workers with chronic pain and those with no pain. Psychological job stress by the Brief Job Stress Questionnaire was used as the dependent variable, with psychological state (depression and anxiety), specifically that characteristic of chronic pain (pain catastrophizing); information on the nature of the pain (intensity and duration); and number of years of service as independent variables. Selected independent variables were evaluated for collinearity. Results: In the model with psychological stress as a dependent variable (chronic pain: r2 = 0.57, F = 41.7, p < 0.0001; no-pain: r2 = 0.63, F = 26.3, p < 0.0001), the difference between the experiences of workers with chronic pain and those with no pain was that chronic pain was associated with depression (Beta = 0.43, p < 0.0001) and no pain with anxiety (Beta = 0.34, p < 0.0001). In the model with chronic pain-related depression as a dependent variable (r2 = 0.62, F = 41.7, p < 0.0001), job-life satisfaction (Beta = −0.18, p = 0.0017) and magnification (a dimension of pain catastrophizing; Beta = 0.16, p < 0.0001) were significant. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that the psychological characteristics of chronic pain, such as depression and magnification, should be considered when evaluating and intervening in the job stress of workers with chronic pain.
