This article studies the gender composition of corporate boards of Russian companies, including its relation to company performance. The analysis is based on a unique longitudinal dataset of virtually all Russian companies whose shares were traded on the stock market in 1998-2014. It shows a relatively small representation of women, just 12% of all the seats, while about 40% of the companies did not have any female director. At the same time, both the share of companies that appoint female directors and the share of female directors on boards show a clear upward trend. The econometric analysis suggests a positive link between the presence of female directors on boards and company performance, especially when firms appoint several, rather than one, female directors.

Аннотация. В статье рассмотрена миграция населения, в том числе ее национальный и половозрастной состав, основные причины миграции, проблемы трудовой миграции и ее последствия, основные характеристики данного процесса, интенсивность современных миграционных процессов в Кыргызстане, особенности местного рынка труда, гендерный аспект миграционных процессов. Миграция рассмотрена как сложный процесс, затрагивающий многие стороны социально-экономической жизни, прямо влияющий на демографическую ситуацию в стране. Приведены статистические данные существующей ситуации в сфере миграции. Проведен анализ действующего законодательства Кыргызской Республики, регулирующего миграционные процессы. The article deals with the migration of the population, including its national and demographic composition, the main reasons of labour migration and its consequences, the main characteristics of this process, the intensity of contemporary migration processes in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the local labour market, the gender aspect of migration processes. Migration is considered as a complex process affecting many aspects of socio-economic life, directly influencing the demographic situation in the country. Nowadays as part of the process of digitalization of the labor market there are structural changes: new forms and types of employment appear. A global trend in recent years is the increase in the number of employees working remotely, which has significant value in difficult epidemiological situation in the world. Today, women are far more at risk of being deprived of the benefits of digital innovations, job losses due to robotics and automatization, have to put much more effort to achieve wage levels of male workers. The article examines the typology of new non-standard forms of employment, their distinctive features. The author highlights the main advantages and risks associated with the wide spreading of new forms of employment in the context of the digitalization of the labor market. The study touches upon the gender aspect, special attention is paid to the analysis of innovative forms of employment and the involvement of women in innovative teams, ICT and STEM-specialties. The factors influencing the formation of innovative behavior in national innovation systems are described. The ways of coordination of state, business and research structures within the framework of "collective action" aimed at stimulating scientific and technological progress in the development of the knowledge economy, the digital economy are outlined. The author also highlighted a number of fundamental reasons for the socio-psychological insecurity of male and female workers associated with the use of non-standard employment, noted in general terms ways of solving problems in the field of precarious employment and leveling gender inequality in the context of the development of the digital economy.

Gender perspective is a heuristic device in researching social phenomena, and gender inequality is a social fact which requires an adequate answer. Also, social differences between women and men are examined as relevant factors of demographic phenomena. The contemporary demography is opening up space not only for the gender aspect, but also for gender inequality as a relevant research topic. This paper discusses the possibilities of demographic approach to studying social inequality between women and men. By analyzing socio-demographic structures and their dynamics insight is obtained into the generality, tendencies and particular features of the phenomenon. This is the specifically demographic contribution to understanding gender inequality.

This article presents data in the dynamics on industrial injuries and occupational morbidity in the mining industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The aim of this study is to analyze occupational injuries and occupational diseases between 2008 and 2018. An analysis of the number of victims of accidents, including those who died from accidents at work during the period, shows indicators of occupational injuries in the gender aspect, the outcome of accidents by degrees of severity and the material consequences of accidents. During the analyzed period, the overall level of occupational injuries and occupational morbidity in the country remains high. The material consequences of accidents, in addition to social damage, bring great material losses to the state.
