The language of flowers is typically dismissed as a subgenre of botany books that, while popular, had little if any influence on the material culture of Victorian life. This article challenges this assumption by situating the genre within the context of the professionalisation of botany at mid-century to show how efforts to change attitudes towards botany from a fashionable pastime for the gentler sex to a utilitarian practice in service of humanity contributed to the revitalisation and popularity of the language of flowers. While scientific botanists sought to know flowers physiologically and morphologically in the spirit of progress and truth, practitioners of the language of flowers – written primarily for and by women – celebrated uncertainty and relied on floral codes to curtail knowing in order to extend the realm of play. The struggle for floral authority was centred in botanical discourses – both scientific and amateur – but extended as well into narrative fiction. Turning to works by Elizabeth Gaskell, Charlotte Brontë, and George Eliot, I show how Victorian writers expected a certain degree of floral literacy from their readers and used floral codes strategically in their fiction as subtexts for practitioners of the language of flowers. These three writers, I argue, took a stand in the gender struggle over floral authority by creating scientific botanists who are so obsessed with dissecting plants to reveal their secrets and know their ‘life truths’ that they become farsighted in matters of romantic love and unable to read the most obvious and surface of floral codes. The consequences of the dismissal of the superficial are in some cases quite disastrous.

Variabel independen yang dipilih yaitu pengetahuan, usia <em>menarche</em>, siklus haid, olahraga, nutrisi, produktivitas, dan indeks massa tubuh (IMT). Berdasarkan uji </strong><strong>bivariat dan multivariat regresi logistik tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan dengan premenstrual syndrome pada mahasiswi UAI yaitu pengetahuan dengan p value 0,169; OR 0,473; 95% CI 0,163-1,374</strong><strong>. Responden yang memiliki pengetahuan 0,473 kali lebih baik dalam penatalaksanaan <em>premenstrual syndrome</em> daripada responden yang memiliki pengetahuan kurang.</strong><strong></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><em>Abstract </em><strong>– Adolescent developmental</strong><strong> stage characterized by common physical changes that accompanied the cognitive and social development. Menstruation was known as a natural process of hormonal control in the female reproductive organs. One of menstrual disorders was premenstrual syndrome or syndrome before menstruation or also known as tension before menstruation. Irregular menstrual cycles, decreased levels of progesterone, increased level of estrogen, stress, menarche age, and nutritional status were informed as factors that cause premenstrual syndrome. This study aimed to determine student’s knowledge to premenstrual syndrome. The methodology used was a cross sectional study. The population sample was a student of University Al Azhar Indonesia. The independent variables were selected, namely knowledge, age of menarche, menstrual cycle, exercise, nutrition, productivity, and body mass index (BMI). Based on the test bivariate and multivariate logistic regression found no significant relationship between knowledge with premenstrual syndrome in UAI student that knowledge with p value 0.169; OR 0.473; 95% CI 0.163 to 1.374. Abstract The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic having no therapy and pharmacists being a part of the healthcare system had a vital role in the management of COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAPs) of community pharmacists (CPs) regarding COVID-19. An online survey was conducted among 393 CPs in two provinces of Pakistan during the lockdown period. A validated questionnaire (Cronbach alpha, 0.745) was used for data collection. All statistical analysis was analyzed by using SPSS version 21. Among 393 participants, 71.5% (n=281) had good knowledge, 44% (n=175) positive attitude and 57.3% (n=225) had good practice regarding COVID-19. Social media (45.29%, n=178) was reported as the main source to seek information of COVID-19. Good knowledge, age ≥ 26 years and Ph.D. degree level were the substantial determinants (p= <0.05) of a good attitude. Similarly, community pharmacist who had an experience of >5 years, hold a Ph.D. degree, good knowledge and good attitude had higher odds of good practice as compared to reference categories (p= <0.05). In short, majority of CPs had good knowledge, but had a poor attitude and practice towards the COVID-19. Standard-structured educational and counselling programs for CPs regarding COVID-19 are needed for effective management.

Background: Good knowledge of self-care related to heart failure (HF) is key to improve patient outcomes. However, information regarding how much patients know about self-care is lacking in developing countries, particularly in the study setting. Objective: The objectives of this study were to assess HF patients’ knowledge about self-care and to explore predictors among HF patients in Ayder comprehensive specialised referral hospital, Tigray, Ethiopia. Methods: This hospital-based cross-sectional study design was undertaken in Ayder comprehensive specialised referral hospital, Tigray, Ethiopia. A total of 408 HF patients participated, and the study was done between February and April 2018. An interviewer-assisted structured questionnaire was used to collect data. Bivariate logistic regression and multivariable logistic regression were conducted to identify the predictors associated with knowledge about self-care. Results: The mean age of the participants was 45.4 years (standard deviation=19 years). Around 255 (62.5%) of the participants had poor self-care knowledge. Age, New York Heart Association classes, duration of the disease and previous hospitalisation were the factors associated with knowledge about self-care. Conclusion: More than half of all participants had poor knowledge about self-care. Improving existing prevention strategies and strengthening patients’ knowledge are recommended to address this knowledge deficit.

Introduction :antenatal care is an examination of pregnant women both physically and mentally as well as saving mothers and children in pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium, so that they post partum healthy and normal not only physically but also mentallyMethod : The study was conducted by distributing questionnaires to pregnant women with emesis gravidarum. Data analysis using univariants for frequency distribution. Result : The results showed an overview of knowledge of pregnant women with good knowledge of 13 people (65%), sufficient knowledge of 5 people (25%) and lack of knowledge of 1 person (5%) while lacking knowledge of pregnant women who did not comply did 1 pregnancy check up (5) %). overall obedient pregnant women undergo pregnancy examinations aged <20 years 7 people (35%), 20-30 years there are 7 people (35%) and there are 4 people> 35 years (20%). while those aged <20 years who are not compliant pregnant women do pregnancy examinations 2 people (10%). pregnant women about compliance with antenatal care namely, support from the husband is very good there are 12 people (60%), good 4 people (20%) and enough 4 people (40%). 20%), the middle economy there are 13 people (65%), and the low economy 4 people (20%), while the economy is lacking in pregnant women who do not comply with one pregnancy checkup (5%). parity, shows that the total number of pregnant women regarding compliance with antenatal care is, that has children who live 1 times 4 people (20%), the number of children who live 2-5 times 11 people (55%), and the number of children who live> 5 times 5 people (25%) while parity, in pregnant women who do not comply with pregnancy examination 1 person (5%) Duscussion:From this study it can be concluded that knowledge, age, husband support, economy and parity in pregnant women regarding compliance with antenatal care in the Klinik Pratama Santa Elisabeth Medan is said to be a minority who are disobedient and more who are obedient do ANC visits

Abstract Although water is important for human livelihoods, access and use of improved domestic water for households in most developing countries is still a major problem. Households adopt several domestic water improvement mechanisms to improve the quality of their water before consumption. However, the drivers of the probability to engage in this behaviour have not been adequately explored in developing countries. Therefore, this study investigates the factors that determine the probability of choosing to improve domestic water quality before consumption, with data from a household survey implemented in Ghana. Using the Logit econometric model with its associated margins, this study shows evidence that environmental knowledge, age, gender and wealth are key drivers of the probability of engaging in a water improvement behaviour. Based on the identified drivers, practical lessons are discussed to inform policy decisions on quality water supply.

 AbstractBackground: Autism is a child development disorder which usually late in case finding and intervention. It used to done in 30 month old of child. In Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang Regional Hospital, it was found that the average of case finding in 48 month of child. This study aims to determine how the acceptance of parents while getting diagnosis of their child and their action to give their child autism intervention. Method: This study used a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. Data colleted by in-depth interviews with 6 informants. Data analysis used Collaizi's (1978) Nine Steps method. Results: Most informants were late in recognizing the symptoms of autism in children, but they had a positive perception of the received diagnosis. All informants have felt bad feelings due to the diagnosis received, but have had coping methods for these feelings and have given autism interventions to children. Factors that influence parental acceptance include the level of education, knowledge, age, occupation, household harmony, social support, economic conditions, ethnicity, interaction between informants and experts, the clarity of symptoms shown by the child and the presence of siblings. Conclusion: Parental acceptance is a process from refusing, getting angry, bargaining, to accepting. In the process of being accepted, parents continue to make efforts to save children
