Slum areas are known to be incubators of disease because they are occupied by high density residents. This activity aims to conduct dissemination in slum settlements in 11 urban villages (Kesenden, Kebonbaru, Pegambiran, Jagasatru, Pulasaren, Drajat, Sunyaragi, Karyamulya, Argasunya, Harjamukti, and Kecapi) with the theme of Prevention of the spread of COVID-19 through the 7 slum indicators approach. The methods applied in this activity were lecture along with question and answer. This activity was implemented by carrying out health protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 wherein there were only 30 participants attended in each village who were required to wear masks and keep social distancing. This dissemination activity was limited to only 2 hours, effective from 08.30 to 11.00 a.m. Based on the results of the activity implementation, basically most of the people had a fairly good knowledge on COVID-19, but not all had a good attitude since there were some people who thought that the virus mostly attacks the middle to upper class. There was also indifference attitude towards government recommendations since they thought that God determines their health status.

In March 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Olympic Committee decided to cancel the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and postpone it to 2021. This decision caused a lot of emotions among elite athletes and disrupted their preparation cycle for the most important quadrennial athletic competition. The aim of the study was to investigate how Polish elite athletes regard this decision and what emotions they feel about it. The current training situation of athletes was also monitored during the study. 478 Polish elite athletes took part in the survey. The results showed that the athletes feel stronger sadness and uncertainty compared to the beginning of the year. Athletes with Olympic qualifi cation consider the decision to cancel the Olympic Games to be much more negative, but – what is interesting – is that they rate the current training options higher and declare feeling less concern about their sports form next year. Two independent clusters show that some athletes experience an increase in negative emotions, while others do not experience major changes (compared to the beginning of the year). Using factor analysis, two factors were also distinguished – emotional and sports. Both exhibited statistically signifi cantly correlations with opinions about the current training situation. The results obtained allow for the development of valuable recommendations regarding support for athletes. Strengthening the ability to regulate emotions, working with the structure of properly formulated goals and building awareness of maintaining a good attitude and approach will be particularly important.

AbstractAnxiety is an emotion that arises because of a threat of danger that cannot be avoided or prevented. This can weaken the immune system. Therefor, it can reduce productivity at work. This study aimed to describe the characteristic of the anxiety level of nurses in treating covid-19 patients in literature review. This research was a literature review research. The search results for articles from online databases, namely ProQuest and Scient Direct, obtained 5 articles that matched the research inclusion criteria. The analysis was critically analyzed using the Hawker instrument. Five articles were obtained with Zung’s Self-Rating Anxiety Scale or Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) questionnaire with the results of several characteristics being found. Most respondent were female (92.81% or 7.175), aged with a mean value of 33.15 and 30-40 years old (43.25% or 2.422 respondent), married (69.47% or 5.370 respondent), years of service 10 years (55.09% or 3.086 respondent), graduate-level education (55.46% or 4.287 respondent). While the level of anxiety, 4 articles with 4 levels of anxiety, the most is Normal (69.05% or 5.377 respondent) and 1 article with 5 levels of anxiety, the most was Mild (46% or 92 respondent). The nurses had a good attitude in controlling the perceived anxiety with evidence of the Normal value in measuring anxiety (69,05% or 5.337 respondent), and the Mild value (46% or 92 respondent). It means that nurses are still quite good at controlling anxiety.Key words : Anxiety; Nurses; Self –rating anxiety scale AbstrakKecemasan adalah emosi yang timbul karena suatu ancaman bahaya yang tidak dapat dihindari atau dicegah. Abstract Background: During its first wave of COVID-19 infection in sub-Saharan Africa, there was insufficient understanding of the pandemic among front-line health care professionals that has led to a misidentification, and mistreatment of affected patients, with a potential risk of contracting and spreading the disease. This study was carried out to determine the Knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) of front-line health workers (HWs) towards COVID-19 in Africa and their related factors. Methods: This was a multi-centers online cross-sectional study conducted over a 3-months study-period using a google survey link among front lines HWs involved in the COVID-19 response in 26 African countries. Chi-square test & logistic regression were used in the bivariate and multivariate analysis respectively to assess determinants of KAP. Statistical analysis was done using STATA version 16; all tests were two-sided with 95% confidence interval. Results: Five hundred and seventeen (517, 96.3%) consented to participate in this study from 26 African countries; 289 (55.9%) were male and 228 (44.1%) female. Overall, most of HWs, 379 (73.3%) showed poor knowledge about COVID-19 infection and preventive measures. In contrast, majority of them showed good attitude (89%) and practice (90.3%) towards prevention of COVID-19 infections. Knowledge varied among countries; Uganda had the greatest number of HWs with good knowledge. (OR = 28.09, p <0.0001) followed by Ghana (OR=10.92, p=0.001) and DRC (OR: 4.59, p=0.015). The cadre of HWs also influenced knowledge; doctors were the most knowledgeable as compared to other cadres (OR: 3.4, p= 0.005). Additionally, knowledge increased with increasing HWs’ education level (p=0.011).Attitude and practice were both influenced by HWs country of workplace (p=0.05 & p< 0.0001 respectively) and their cadre (p = 0.025 & p < 0.0001 respectively). Conclusions: Majority of the front-line HWs in the African region had an overall good attitude and practice towards COVID-19 infection and practice measures despite relatively poor Knowledge. The KAP is influenced by HWs country of workplace, their cadre and level of education.

Measles has remained endemic in some part of the world where the vaccine is not easily accessible. Although vaccine is available in some parts of the world, with routine immunization services and campaigns, many children are yet to be vaccinated. Hence, this study assessed the knowledge and attitude towards measles and Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine (MMR) among mothers in Idi-aba community. This was a descriptive research design using multistage sampling technique to choose participants for the study. A self-constructed questionnaire was used to collect information from participants. After the distribution and collection of the questionnaires, data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results showed that 93.2% (386) and 65.9% (273) participants indicated that they knew what measles and MMR vaccines are respectively. However, overall analysis revealed that only 165 (39%) participants had high knowledge of measles and MMR vaccine while 303 (74%) had good attitude towards measles and MMR vaccine. This study showed that there are some knowledge gaps.  Factors significantly associated with high percentage of mothers having good attitude are occupation (????2=20, P=0.000), income (????2=5.9, P=0.009) and parity (????2=23, P=0.000). In conclusion, this result implies that in order to sustain the good attitude displayed by the mothers, there is need for strategic intensive health educational programs for the mothers of the community.

This study evaluated the knowledge, attitude and perception (KAP) towards COVID-19 pandemic control among veterinarians in Nigeria. A nation-wide web-based cross-sectional survey was conducted. Information on KAP towards the COVID-19 pandemic was gathered (April 23 and May 31, 2020) and multivariate logistic regression was performed to identify associated factors. A total of 368 veterinarians participated in the study. The majority of respondents were males (72.8%), between the ages of 30–39 years (39.7%). Generally, respondents displayed a good level of knowledge about COVID-19 (72.4% ± 9.9%, range 44.1–91.2%), while the general attitude level was poor (65.4% ± 10.8, range 35.3–94.1%). Various determinants for good attitude among respondents were: if they were above 60 years old (aOR = 4.49, 95% CI: 1.379–14.594, p = 0.013), possessed postgraduate qualification (aOR = 1.63, 95 CI: 1.045–2.553, p = 0.031), worked over 30 years post DVM (aOR = 5.63, 95% CI: 1.966–16.100, p = 0.001), had household members between five and 10 (aOR = 1.73, 95% CI: 1.130–2.641, p = 0.012), and if respondents’ residence was on total lockdown (aOR = 1.66, 95% CI: 1.070–2.590, p = 0.024). The pandemic had moderate impacts on social, financial and physical status of the participants. Stricter policy measures and educational programs should be implemented to keep veterinarians and the populace informed about the best practices recommended for COVID-19 management.
