This study has focused on the isolation of twenty-three halophilic actinomycetes from two ponds of different salinity and the evaluation of their ability to exert an antimicrobial activity against both their competitors and several other pathogens. From the 23 isolates, 18 strains showed antagonistic activity, while 19 showed activities against one or more of the seven pathogen strains tested. Six strains exhibited consistent antibacterial activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive pathogens characterized at the physiological and molecular levels. These strains shared only 94-95% 16S rRNA sequence identity with the closely related species of the Thermoactinomycetaceae family. Among them, the potent strain SMBg3 was further characterized and assigned to a new genus in the family for which the name Paludifilum halophilum (DSM 102817T) is proposed. Sequential extraction of the antimicrobial compounds with ethyl acetate revealed that the crude extract from SMBg3 strain had inhibitory effect on the growth of the plant pathogen Agrobacterium tumefaciens and the human pathogens Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Based on the HRESI-MS spectral data, the cyclic lipopeptide Gramicidin S and four cyclic dipeptides (CDPs) named cyclo(L-4-OH-Pro-L-Leu), cyclo(L-Tyr-L-Pro), cyclo(L-Phe-L-Pro), and cyclo(L-Leu-L-Pro) were detected in the fermentation broth of Paludifilum halophilum. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the isolation of these compounds from members of the Thermoactinomycetaceae family.

The fungal genus Conidiobolus sensu lato was delimited into four genera based on morphology and phylogeny. However, the taxonomic placement of C. parvus has not been determined until now. Here, we show that C. parvus belongs to a distinct lineage based on mitochondrial (mtSSU) and nuclear (TEF1 and nrLSU) phylogenetic analyses. Phylogenetic analyses further revealed a new species as sister to C. parvus. We identified a synapomorphy uniting these lineages (azygospore production) that was not observed in other allied genera of the family Ancylistaceae, and erected a new genus Azygosporusgen. nov. for this monophyletic group, with a new combination, A. parvuscomb. nov. as the type species. Within Azygosporus, the novel species A. macropapillatussp. nov. was introduced from China based on morphological characteristics and molecular evidence, which is characterized by its prominent basal papilla, in comparison to other closely related species, measuring 7.5–10.0×5.0–10.0 µm. Our study resolved the phylogenetic placement of C. parvus and improved the taxonomic system of the Ancylistaceae family.

Fungal strains, designated KNU-NL4 and KNU-OL2, belonging to the family Didymellaceae were isolated from a soil sample collected in Miryang, Korea. Phylogenetic analyses based on a concatenated dataset of DNA sequences of ITS regions and partial sequences of ACT, CAL, TEF1-α, and β-TUB genes showed that the isolates reside in a clade together with Boeremia species but occupy the distinct phylogenetic position. Morphologically, the novel strains produce bigger conidiomata (average size 169.8 μm) than the closely related B. rhapontica (126.59 μm) and smaller than the other close neighbor B. coffeae (187.5 μm). Both novel strains also differed from them by smaller colony size and colony color on OA and MEA. The detailed descriptions, illustrations, and discussions regarding the morphological and phylogenetic analyses of the closely related species are provided to support the novelty of the isolated species. The results of phylogenetic analysis and morphological observations indicate that strains KNU-NL4 and KNU-OL2 represent a novel species in the genus Boeremia, for which the name Boeremia parva sp. nov. is proposed.

Abstract The G6B cell-surface receptor, which contains a single Ig-like domain, has been shown to bind to SHP-1 and SHP-2 after phosphorylation of 2 immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) in its cytoplasmic tail, classifying this protein as a new member of the family of inhibitory receptors. In this study, we demonstrate by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Western-blot analysis that G6B is expressed on platelets. Cross-linking of G6B with polyclonal antisera has a significant inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation and activation by agonists such as ADP and collagen-related peptide (CRP). This inhibitory function of G6B appears to operate in a calcium-independent manner. Our results suggest that G6B represents a novel inhibitory receptor found on the surface of platelets and that it could be an antithrombotic drug target.

Antagonistic activity of marine bacteria against common human pathogens was studied in this project. Marine animal surface bacterial flora was isolated from selected animal collected from local fishermen. The sample bacteria were isolated by serial dilution followed by spread plate method using marine agar (ZMA). About 11 bacterial isolates were selected and screened for antimicrobial activity through agar well diffusion assay. Among 11 isolates, 7 isolates exerted an inhibitory effect against human pathogenic organisms (E.coli, S.aureus, Klebsiella and Candida sp.). The isolates were then investigated for antibiotic production by cross species signal transfer mediated induction, 2 isolates (Sh-2 and PJR-3) exhibited enhanced activity against human pathogenic organisms (E.coli, S.aureus and Candida sp.). These 2 isolates were characterized phenotypically by morphological techniques (which revealed the strains as gram-positive and gram negative respectively) and physiologically by conventional tests.

A Gram-positive, rod-shaped, non-spore-forming bacterium (Gsoil 346T) was isolated from the soil of a ginseng field in South Korea and was characterized in order to determine its taxonomic position. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequences, strain Gsoil 346T was shown to belong to the genus Nocardioides in the family Nocardioidaceae, with the most closely related species being Nocardioides aquiterrae GW-9T (96.6 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity); however, the strain clustered in a distinct branch of the phylogenetic tree with Nocardioides kongjuensis A2-4T (96.2 %), Nocardioides aromaticivorans H-1T (96.1 %), Nocardioides nitrophenolicus NSP41T (96.1 %) and Nocardioides simplex ATCC 15799T (95.9 %). Strain Gsoil 346T was characterized chemotaxonomically and found to have ll-2,6-diaminopimelic acid in the cell-wall peptidoglycan, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylglycerol as the major polar lipids, MK-8(H4) as the predominant menaquinone and iso-C16 : 0, C18 : 1 ω9c and C17 : 1 ω8c as the major fatty acids. The G+C content of the genomic DNA of the novel strain was 73.0 mol%. These chemotaxonomic properties supported the placement of strain Gsoil 346T in the genus Nocardioides. The results of physiological and biochemical tests, along with the phylogenetic analysis, allowed strain Gsoil 346T to be differentiated genotypically and phenotypically from recognized species of the genus Nocardioides. Therefore, strain Gsoil 346T represents a novel species, for which the name Nocardioides panacisoli sp. nov. is proposed, with Gsoil 346T (=KCTC 19470T=DSM 21348T) as the type strain.

[ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus and the unpublished Bisgaard taxon 35 are associated with respiratory and urogenital tract infections in dogs. A total of 21 strains including the type strain of [ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus were included in the investigation. Strains of [ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus and taxon 35 formed a monophyletic group demonstrating at least 97.8 and 96.5% similarities within the group based upon 16S rRNA and rpoB gene sequence comparisons, respectively. Glaesserella australis was the most closely related species to [ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus and taxon 35 with 96.1 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity which is slightly higher than the 95 % separating most genera of the family Pasteurellaceae . However, the conserved protein sequence phylogeny documented a unique position of [ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus with only 81 % identity to the most closely related species, genomospecies 1 of the genus Rodentibacter which is lower than the 85 % separating most genera of the family Pasteurellaceae . The conserved protein sequence identity to Haemophilus influenzae , the type species of the genus, was 77%, demonstrating that [ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus is not properly classified as a member of the genus Haemophilus . On the basis of the phylogenetic comparisons, the taxa [ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus and taxon 35 are proposed to be included with a novel genus Canicola with one species, Canicola haemoglobinophilus which is reclassified from [ Haemophilus ] haemoglobinophilus. Phenotypic characters obtained with isolates genetically approved to represent Canicola haemoglobinophilus were in accordance with those of the members of the family Pasteurellaceae, and the novel genus can be separated from most of the existing genera by a positive catalase reaction, lack of V-factor requirement for growth, lack of haemolysis of blood agar and negative Voges–Proskauer and urease tests. The novel genus cannot be separated by biochemical and physiological characteristics alone from the genera Aggregatibacter , Avibacterium , Frederiksenia and Spirabiliibacterium . However, MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy and also RpoB amino acid signatures allowed a clear separation from these taxa, supporting the existence of a novel genus. The DNA G+C content is 37.0–37.8 mol% for the genus, based on the whole genomic sequences. The type strain of Canicola haemoglobinophilus is CCUG 3714T (=ATCC 19416T=NCTC 1659T) isolated in 1901 from the prepuce of a dog in Germany.

Eight Erwinia strains, isolated from necrotic pear blossoms in València, Spain, were compared with reference strains of Erwinia amylovora and Erwinia pyrifoliae, both of which are pathogenic to species of pear tree, and to other species of the family Enterobacteriaceae using a polyphasic approach. Phenotypic analyses clustered the novel isolates into one phenon, distinct from other species of the genus Erwinia, showing that the novel isolates constituted a homogeneous phenotypic group. Rep-PCR profiles, PCR products obtained with different pairs of primers and plasmid contents determined by restriction analysis showed differences between the novel strains and reference strains of E. amylovora and E. pyrifoliae. Phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA, gpd and recA gene sequences showed that the eight novel strains could not be assigned to any recognized species. On the basis of DNA–DNA hybridization studies, the novel isolates constituted a single group with relatedness values of 87–100 % to the designated type strain of the group, CFBP 5888T. Depending on the method used, strain CFBP 5888T showed DNA–DNA relatedness values of between 22.7 and 50 % to strains of the closely related species E. amylovora and E. tasmaniensis. The DNA G+C contents of two of the novel strains, CFBP 5888T and CFBP 5883, were 51.1 and 50.5 mol%, respectively. On the basis of these and previous results, the novel isolates represent a novel species of the genus Erwinia, for which the name Erwinia piriflorinigrans sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is CFBP 5888T (=CECT 7348T).

The novel Sepertiga Malam di Manhattan by Arumi E is very interesting to study. This novel is a novel about the struggle of a family to get happiness. This novel is the Arumi E's 27th newest novel. The struggle in this novel is to make the family happy, expecting for the baby. Before writing the novel, Arumi E did a research in the places written in the novel to achieve a very interesting fictional story and most of this story was taken from the traveling results so it was so interesting. The objective of this research is to describe (1) the Autopoetic System in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E. (2) The differentiation system in the Novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E.The research method used is in the form of a descriptive qualitative method that uses a social system approach. The method used by the researcher is the dialectical method. The data source used in this research is the novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E, published by Gramedia publisher in 2018. The data collection in this study uses the steps of reading the novel. To collect data, the researcher use any instrument.There are two results of the study: (1) The autopoetic system in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E. is concerning to some characters who have their own beliefs or rules in their lives who do not want to follow the rules of others, they are more confident in their own way to success and purpose of life. (2) The system of differentiation in the novel Sepertiga Malamdi Manhattan by Arumi E. is covering the handling of changes in the environment, the characters are able to adapt to the new environment, which has a different culture from the original culture. This shows evidence of the system autopoetic and differentiation in the novel Sepertiga MalamdiManhattan by Arumi E.

Initially, Oliver Twist (1839) might seem representative of the archetypal male social plot, following an orphan and finding him a place by discovering the father and settling the boy within his inheritance. But Agnes Fleming haunts this narrative, undoing its neat, linear transmission. This reconsideration of maternal inheritance and plot in the novel occurs against the backdrop of legal and social change. I extend the critical consideration of the novel's relationship to the New Poor Law by thinking about its reflection on the bastardy clauses. And here, of course, is where the mother enters. Under the bastardy clauses, the responsibility for economic maintenance of bastard children was, for the first time, legally assigned to the mother, relieving the father of any and all obligation. Oliver Twist manages to critique the bastardy clauses for their release of the father, while simultaneously embracing the placement of the mother at the head of the family line. Both Oliver and the novel thus suggest that it is the mother's story that matters, her name through which we find our own. And by containing both plots – that of the father and the mother – Oliver Twist reveals the violence implicit in traditional modes of inheritance in the novel and under the law.

The Last Resort sealed her distinction as a brilliant novelist of domestic life in its frank depiction of male homosexuality. While continuing to publish fiction, Pamela maintained her reputation as a deft reviewer. In 1954, she and Charles travelled to the United States—the first of many trips that were to follow.
