<p>The article describes the necessity of an incoming quality control of the delivered power electronics elements especially at the stage of choosing a reliable supplier. In particular, in the field of the metal core PCBs production, there is a need to control not only its heat sink parameters, but also to control the quality of the joint interface of the metal core PCBs. Since the use of poor-quality materials or the violation of the technological process by the manufacturer can lead to the defects in the PCBs structure. Thus it can affect the heat sink efficiency and the reliability of the entire assembly. The article proposes and describes the method of nondestructive incoming quality control of metal core PCBs. This method is based on the use of ultrasonic layer-by-layer scanning for obtaining the internal structure of PCBs. The article presents the results of applying this method for the PCBs of various manufacturers. The data of the structure visualization and the influence of environment temperatures changes were also obtained. The result pictures of the tested samples before and after the thermal circling were obtained to study the possible degradation of the PCBs structure and its parameters.</p>

Natural shea butter (NSB), extracted by traditional methods resulting in its poor quality, is nevertheless widely traded within Africa and beyond due to its several useful applications. This study examined effects of simulated laboratory/domestic heat treatments on quality of the commodity obtained from a cross section of Nigerian markets. Physicochemical and microbiological qualities of NSB samples procured from four selected  markets located across three Nigerian states were evaluated by standard methods before and after graduated thermal stress treatments from 50 through 120 °C over 5, 15, or 30 min durations, respectively, and filtration at 60 °C. Mean physicochemical quality values of NSB samples determined, namely: specific gravity at 29 °C (0.90-0.94); softening, melting temperatures (33-36, 36-39 °C; respectively); acid, iodine, and saponification values (10.5- 29.3, 46.4-59.1, 110-470; respectively), were not adversely or significantly altered by the thermal treatment types and stresses. Whereas all untreated NSB samples demonstrated microbial contamination (total viable counts: 3 6 10 -10 cfu/g) with Pseudomonas, Klebsiella, Staphylococcus, Bacillus, Aspergillus, or Candida species, the graduated heat treatments produced varied sanitizing effects. Higher temperatures (100, 120 °C) gave greater and more rapid cleansing action than the lower temperatures (50, 75 °C), both intensity-ranges being aided by length of holding time. Hot filtration eliminated all the NSB contaminants. In conclusion, while untreated NSB is found grossly contaminated by microbes, unhygienic and unsafe for human use, this study has demonstrated efficient contaminants-cleansing action of heat treatments (³100 °C × ³ 30 min) on NSB, and the total sanitizing effect of hot filtration process. This paper analyzes the gubernatorial election in Chiapas and establishes some similarities with the presidential election. It examines certain relevant indicators: the transition governments that fail to meet the citizen’s expectations, the political alliances formed before and after the elections, the lack of confidence towards the electoral institutions and the vote-tallying process; this last issue was the center of all debates in 2006. Based on evidences, this paper ponders on the poor quality of the citizen’s rights enjoyed in Mexico and studies the possibility of questioning the political transition itself.

ABSTRACT Background: The quality of sleep in elderly tend to decline. This occurs as a result of certain changes such as physical, biological, mental and socio-economic. The quality of sleep may influence the healthcondition for short or long terms. Poor quality of sleep may cause difficulty in concentrating, slow response, memory disturbance and decrease of performance in daily life. The decline of sleep qualitymay be resolved with Jacobson’s Progressive Muscular Relaxation (JPMR) exercise. Objective: To analyze the effect of Jacobson’s Progressive Muscular Relaxation on sleep quality inelderly at Budi Agung Social Institution. Methods: This study is a pre experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. The subject ofthis study were the 19 elderly at Budi Agung Social Institution. In this study, JPMR exercise was done in5 days. Sleep quality before and after JPMR exercise was measured using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) questionnair. The data obtained was analyzed using McNemar test. Results: From a total of 19 subjects, 3 subjects had good sleep quality while 16 subjecst had poor sleepquality. On the other hand, after the JPMR excercise, improved sleep qualiy was found in the 16 subjectswhile the 3 subjects still had poor sleep quality; bivariate analysis p value = 0.002 (p <0.05). Conclusion: Jacobson’s Progressive Muscular Relaxation (JPMR) has a significant effect on sleepquality in elderly at Budi Agung Social Institution. The problem of quality control of agricultural machinery parts by means of dynamic non-destructive methods of impact indentation of conical shape indenters is considered. Quality of the crucial parts is considered from the point of view of a set of mechanical characteristics that determine the strength, hardness, wear resistance and deformability. These characteristics must be known and be able to control on all the details promptly and accurately both in the manufacturing process and in operation. The mechanical characteristics of metals are stochastic in nature. For this purpose, an impact indentation device was developed, and the method based on probabilistic laws of dispersion of mechanical characteristics is obtained.

Accurate inspection of welded materials is important in relation to achieve acceptable standards. Radiography, a non-destructive test method, is commonly used to evaluate the internal condition of a material with respect to defect detection. The presence of noise in low resolution of radiographic images significantly complicates analysis; therefore attaining higher quality radiographic images makes defect detection more readily achievable. This paper presents a study pertaining to the quality enhancement of radiographic images with respect to different types of defects. A series of digital radiographic weld flaw images were smoothed using multiple smoothing techniques to remove inherent noise followed by top and bottom hat morphological transformations. Image quality was evaluated quantitatively with respect to SNR, PSNR and MAE. The results indicate that smoothing enhances the quality of radiographic images, thereby promoting defect detection with the respect to original radiographic images.

Abstract The research method used is P-Chart method, with diagram of upper and lower control chart, check sheet, pareto diagram, and cause and effect diagram. The result of analysis using Pareto Diagram can be seen that from 199,880 kg or 0.6097% defective product, it is dominant defect 0.4282% in Size, 0.0981% in Floating, 0.0633% in Moisture, 0.0150% in Belang, and Others 0.0051%. Occurrence of fish feeds product defect caused by material factors, machine, methods, and man. Based on these factors that affect the quality of fish feeds are lack of training and lack of skill, exhaustion and negligence, lack of socialization of SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and techniques in improper mixing, poor quality materials and material storage is too long , decreased machine productivity and lack of maintenance or maintenance of machinery. Application of quality control of fish feed production process at PT Central Pertiwi Bahari has been running well, this is proved by the percentage of major defect that does not exceed the maximum standards specified by the company. The interaction between human papillomavirus (HPV) particles and cell surface heparan sulfate requires intact conformation of the HPV particles. Type-specific HPV serology is currently based on virus-like particles (VLPs) with intact conformation. Presence of incorrectly folded VLPs in VLP preparations is recognized as an important cause of cross-reactivity in HPV serology. Heparin-coated microtitre plates were evaluated for capturing conformationally correct VLPs and improving the type specificity of HPV serology. Hybrid VLPs between HPV16 and HPV11, which had been found to have significant reactivity with children's sera and a batch of HPV18 VLPs that had failed the quality control because of significant reactivity with sera from virginal women, were tested in parallel with heparin ELISA, ordinary ELISA and type-specific mAb capture ELISA. Control sera from children that had detectable reactivity with HPV16/11 hybrid VLPs in ordinary ELISA did not react in heparin-based ELISA, but some hybrid VLPs also had background reactivity in capture ELISAs. Control sera from virginal women that had some reactivity with a poor quality HPV18 VLP preparation in ordinary ELISA had no reactivity in heparin or capture ELISA, suggesting that certain VLP preparations expose cross-reactive epitopes that are not exposed on VLPs with heparin-binding ability. As the sensitivity was similar or only marginally affected by the use of heparin plates, use of heparin-coated plates may improve the type specificity of VLP-based ELISAs and reduce interassay variability attributable to variable quality of different VLP batches.

Edremit Ataturk House has been restored under international restoration principles. Due to its importance, a systematic study was carried out to prevent the building from suffering damage. The current situation of the building was investigated by using slightly destructive and non-destructive test methods. Flat-jack and shear tests were used in order to identify the mechanical properties of masonry walls according to the ASTM standards. The operational modal analysis test method was used in order to understand its dynamic characteristics. After the diagnosis phase, a finite element model was prepared and calibrated according to the in-situ test results. The reinforcement studies were performed according to the finite element modal analysis results. Finally, the differences between the dynamic properties of the structure were evaluated by vibration tests before and after the restoration works.

The ways of increasing the reliability and service life of industrial facilities are considered. The types of hardening technologies and methods of their control are analyzed. An approach that makes it possible to evaluate the quality of hardening technologies based on the registration of acoustic emission (AE) is described. The results of experimental research on the quality of three types of strengthening technologies are presented and the effectiveness of the proposed approach is shown. The obtained results can be used to assess hardening technologies at real facilities in a non-destructive way.

Batches of straws often need to be thrown away after freezing due to a too-few-number of motile or progressive sperm cells (spz), whereas the quality of the fresh sperm was considered as acceptable. Our objective was to evaluate whether variables related to velocity or linearity for fresh spz could help to predict the resistance to freezing and allow the discard of poor-quality batches before freezing. Motility traits of 20 ejaculates from 20 Belgian Blue bulls collected at an AI center were evaluated for motile spz both before and after freezing using Computer-Assisted Sperm Analysis (CASA, Spermvision; Minit�b, Tiefenbach, Germany). Only six traits of motility showed a normal distribution in the population of motile spz and were kept for further analysis together with the proportion of motile (%mot) and progressive (%prog) spz: velocity on the curved line (VCL), velocity on the straight line (VSL), velocity on the average path (VAP), linearity (LIN = VSL/VCL), beat cross frequency (BCF), and average orientation change of the head (AOC). Significant variation between bulls was observed both before and after freezing for all of the analyzed traits (ANOVA2; P &lt; 0.001). Moreover, freezing significantly altered the motility measures (ANOVA2; P &lt; 0.001). For each variable, a significant correlation was observed between the values (mean or percentage) obtained for each bull before and after freezing (Pearson coefficient: R = 0.43 to 0.72; P &lt; 0.05). However, the impact of freezing on the quality of motility differed between bulls, with low impact for some bulls and major impact for others. Three motility traits measured before freezing were highly correlated with %mot or %prog after freezing: VAP, VSL, and %prog (R = 0.75 to 0.82; P &lt; 0.001). When we evaluated the prediction of rejection or acceptance of a batch of straws after freezing (based on a threshold of 15% progressive spz) by using motility measures recorded before freezing, five traits allowed us to discriminate low-quality batches: %mot, %prog, VAP, VSL, and LIN. Applying to fresh sperm a threshold of 92 �m s-1 for VAP or 84 �m s-1 for VSL allowed us to predict, respectively, 6 and 7 out of the 9 batches that would be rejected after freezing, without discarding batches of acceptable quality. Moreover, using the %mot or %prog before freezing caused us to discard only 3 and 4 batches, respectively. Combining different traits did not add to the precision. In conclusion, analysis of velocity traits for fresh sperm seems more efficient than analysis of %mot or %prog to discard batches that will be of poor quality after freezing. Such analysis could prevent useless work and expense related to straw filling and freezing. However, the definition of thresholds needs further analysis with a larger number of batches of semen and will vary from one AI center to another, depending, for example, on the breed characteristics, the number of spz per straw, the CASA system, or the freezing procedure.
