Abstract In this article I claim there is no contradiction involved in Franz Rosenzweig’s love of life and his apology for death: what he loves and wants us to love is the finite life, life offered in its finitude which should in the end appear as enough – that is, sufficient and fit for everything we could want from life, redemption included. The beyond toward which death as the end gestures is not a promise of immortality, offering a transcendence in temporal terms infinitely prolonged. The will “to stay, to live,” of which Rosenzweig speaks in the opening paragraph of The Star of Redemption, is the drive characteristic of another finitude: desiring and investing in life, without, at the same time, wishing to prolong itself into infinity.

Abstract What is health? This question figures prominently in several ethical, medicinal and (health-)psychological issues. Against this background the paper investigates the definition and the understanding of health in Karl Barth‘s dogmatics in its theological framework. The reconstruction provides a model of health, which allows treating contemporary issues, because it presents a dynamic and relational model with several dimensions, including the dimension of will. The will to health, though depending on somatic, psychic and social conditions, plays an important role in handling with diseases, in living with imperfections and in supporting healthy lifestyle and preventive measures. This will must be interpreted as the will and the power to be a human being with its gifts and limits

The sources of Kant’s term Gesinnung and a review of the problems of its translation into English were presented in the first part of this article; the second part examines the novel features that Kant brings to the interpretation of this concept in the critical period. In the Critique of Practical Reason these include the questions of manifestation of Gesinnung in the world, apprehended through the senses, the method of establishing and the culture of truly moral Gesinnung, as well as the problem of the immutability of Gesinnung in the progress towards the good. The new theses that appear in Religion within the Bounds of Bare Reason are Gesinnung as the internal subjective principle of maxims, on virtue as evidence of the presence of Gesinnung, on act as a manifestation of Gesinnung, on the unintelligibility of Gesinnung in its noumenal, suprasensible character, on the innateness of Gesinnung in the sense that it exists not in time, but in the form of its acceptance by free expression of the will, on the singleness of Gesinnung and its indivisibility into periods, on revolution in Gesinnung as distinct from empirical reform, on the creation of the new human being as distinct from the ancient one as a result of the revolution of Gesinnung, on the link between the revolution in Gesinnung and “conversion” or second birth. After discussing the problem of distinguishing the terms Gesinnung and Denkungsart in translation as well as a review of all the existing variants of translating Kant’s concept of Gesinnung into Russian (aspiration, inclination, intention, virtue, virtuousness, conviction, attitude, mode of thinking, thoughts, mood, disposition and umonastroenie), the author comes to the conclusion that the uniform variant umonastroenie is best suited for Russian translations of Kant’s works.

Proverbs are by far the richest man's prominence being a privilege and a multifaceted reflection of communication activities. They serve the presence of an ongoing process of mentality as effective spoken or written instruments conveying countless senses, intentions, experiences, purposes and so on. This paper aims to explore the significance of proverbs at various levels of communications through a thorough depiction of the essential traits and various possible inherent and intended meanings which they convey. It is mainly concerned with viewing the communicative significance of proverbs through involving them to the possible speech acts they intend to provoke and through expounding the multiple congenital meanings which they imply when used in a communicative situation. It can be explicitly demonstrated through this paper that proverbs are used as an intrinsic estimation of the communication process emphasizing different values of instructive functions, moral considerations, knowledges, wisdoms and experiences at and for the will of human being.

Human life has always been dealt with various disasters from earthquake,  tsunami to volcano eruption. In the past, as listed in the Qur’an, a lot of stories depicted the vanished people of unbeliever. While the cases of unbeliever referred to the punishment of Alloh, the query is whether the disaster happened to the Believer served as the Divine punishment. Two questions are discussed in this research: (1) How Quraish Shihab interpreted the verses of disaster?, and (2) What is the theology of disaster in Quraish Shihab’s Tafsir al-Misbah? The research shows that natural disaster occurred, in Quraish Shihab’s view, due to the imbalance of environment. Alloh has created harmonious environment, but human being tends to conduct chaos and destruction. Disaster could be concluded into three: (1) disaster that denoted collective destruction, (2) disaster that related to the destruction of meaning, and (3), disaster that dealt with the danger. The cause of disaster could be categorized into three, namely, (1) disaster due to the will of God (2) disaster due to human error (3) disaster due to the wickedness of human. Pertaining to the ethics facing disaster, one couldrefer to istirja’, patience, learning, the obedience to Alloh. The lesson learned from the disaster are among others, (1) individual aspect : (a) increasing the degree of faith, (b) supporting one’s proximity to God, (c) realizing the love of God, (d) situating one’s faith and (e) supporting one’s humility and (2) social one, building solidarity among human beings.

Summary This article offers an exposition of Karl Barth’s actualistic reorientation of the Augustinian notions of original sin and the bondage of the will in § 60 and § 65 of Church Dogmatics IV/1–2. Barth redefines human nature as a total determination of the human being (Sein/Dasein) “from above” by the covenantal history of reconciliation. Human nature as such remains totally intact in the historical state of sin. The human being, however, is also determined “from below” by the Adamic world-history of total corruption. With this dialectical construal of sin and human nature, Barth redefines original sin as the radically sinful activities and decisions that determine the confinement of human beings to the historical condition of fallenness. Barth also challenges the famous Augustinian account of the bondage of the will to which original sin gives rise, and uses the present active indicative to express his actualistic reorientation of the Augustinian notion of the bondage: “non potest non peccare”.

The will of power can be interpreted as a principle of force and weakness, birth and death, creation and destruction. So, a creative human being is at the same time creator and victim of their own law. This is the reason why their own suffering is the price for them to become a creative individual.

Communication is an important element in human life. Every human being will communicate either verbally or non-verbally. However, some in society today ignore the principles that need to be adhered to during communication. They are speechless and free to speak to cause libel and dissemination of untrue information from the original facts. As the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia has warned, 'no doubt don't share'. Based on this statement, an analysis of the principles of communication in the Quran should be done to express Allah's command in the ethics of communicating especially to Muslims. The findings showed that there are 19 communication patterns found in the Quran and the reviewers have classified the principles of communication into two main forms which are bi al-Lisan communication and communication bi al-Hal. Based on the principles of communication in life, it is certain that society will live in peace and harmony in accordance with the will of God.

A current problem, characteristic of the customer society, is the cult to the body and its aesthetic value. This make more difficult it in some cases, and impedes otherwise, the coexistence of other more urgency and necessity values in the human formation, altering, in this way, the vivencial order of the axiologic hierarchy according to the strengh and height. This situation, demands an answer from education, becouse of this, it doesn't only seek to incorporate values to personal existence, but an incorporation in agreement with the integral and harmonic improvement of the human being as a human. For this, it is necessaiy to persuade, to convince and not to conquer —by means of the critical reflection of the problem, appreciation and effort— to impel the decision of the will, stiller in adverse environmental situations.SOMMAIRE: Un problème actuel, propre de la société de la consommation, est le culte au corps et sa valeur esthétique. There are a lot of hadiths that influenced certain circumstances, especially those “degrading” degrees of women. If the hadiths are textually practiced, there would certainly be an impact on human-right violations. If broken, it will also affect the person’s faith in applying the traditions of Prophet SAW in his life. This issue certainly needs the best solution in understanding these hadiths. It is unneglectable to avoid that women harassment are still happening today. Everyone witnesses that so many women lost their rights, both as a human being, such as subordinated to its shortcomings, but also as citizens, such as loss of right to be a leader. The women with this particular plight are the result of men’s behavior who stand on religious arguments (especially hadith) that put women as “humbled” and even simply as the creature that confined to live in walls of house, which is just back and forth between the kitchen, wells and mattresses. Reinterpretation of Islamic concepts on the position of women should be provided in order to give opportunity to the present women as highly dynamic, courteous, and beneficial for religion and society. We all believe that Prophet Muhammad SAW was the great personal who respected and uphold the honor of women. This is the gap between the will of the Prophet SAW with the understanding of Muslim believers about the hadiths of the Prophet SAW
