This essay contributes to developing a new approach to political legitimacy by asking what is involved in judging the legitimacy of a regime from a practical point of view. It is focused on one aspect of this question: the role of identity in such judgment. I examine three ways of understanding the significance of identity for political legitimacy: the foundational, associative, and agonistic picture. Neither view, I claim, persuasively captures the dilemmas of judgment in the face of disagreement and uncertainty about who “I” am and who “we” are. I then propose a composite, pragmatic picture. This view casts the question of political legitimacy as an existential predicament: it is fundamentally a question about who you are—both as a person and as a member of collectives. The pragmatic picture integrates rational, prudential, and ethical qualities of good judgment that were heretofore associated with mutually exclusive ways of theorizing legitimacy. It also implies that the question of legitimacy cannot be resolved philosophically.

The article examines the results of the last Bundestag elections. They marked the end of the Angela Merkel era and reflected the continuation of difficult party-political and socio-economic processes in the informal leader of the European Union. The main attention of the research focuses on the peculiarities of the election campaign of the leading parties and of the search for ways of further development of Germany in the face of urgent economic and political challenges. These challenges include the impact of the coronavirus crisis, the impact of the energy and digital transition to a climate-neutral economy, and the complex international situation. Based on original sources, the author analyzes the causes of the SPD victory and the CDU/CSU bloc defeat, the results of the negotiations of the Social Democrats with the Greens and Liberals, the content of the coalition agreement from the point of view of the prospects for the development of domestic and foreign policy and the economy of Russia's main partner in the west of the Eurasian continent. The conclusion is made about the absence of breakthrough ideas, the consistent continuation of the course started by the previous government for a carbon-free economy and the strengthening of the role of Germany in Europe and the world. For this course, conflicts and problems in achieving the set goals will be immanent due to the compromising nature of the coalition agreements.

The relevance of smartphones and mobile apps has increased significantly in recent years. Increasingly, companies are trying to use mobile apps for their business purposes. Accordingly, the role of app marketing has become more important. Nevertheless, there is no uniform understanding of the term "app marketing". Based on scientific and gray literature, two definitions of "app marketing" are developed. In the narrower sense, app marketing refers to measures aimed at making a mobile app better known and acquiring users i. e. generating app downloads. In the broader sense, app marketing refers to all activities that are used to acquire users for a mobile app, contact them, and encourage them to reach a specified goal. Additionally, based on job ads, an overview of activities in app marketing is provided from a practical point of view. Here, the focus is primarily on paid app install campaigns as well as on monitoring, reporting and analytics.

Ardita is considered as one amongst the vata nanatmaj vyadhis described in Ayurvedic classics. Ardita is a condition caused due to the unusual functioning of vata dosha which results in loss of functioning of one half of the face. It can be correlated with Bell's Palsy from modern perspective. This disease proves to be disturbing from a functional and cosmetic point of view. A 27year old male patient came to OPD with a chief complaint of difficulty in closing right eye, angle deviation of the mouth towards left, difficulty while eating, unable to whistle as well as puffing of cheeks, drooling of saliva, etc. from 20 days. History and examination lead to the diagnosis of Bell's Palsy. Consid- ering the signs and symptoms, the patient was treated as per the ayurvedic line of treatment for Ardita. The patient was admitted and ayurvedic treatment (Panchakarma + Oral medications) i.e. Nasya, Pindasweda, Kukkutanda sweda, Akshitarpan was given for 21days. The patient had great relief with marked improvement in the above said symptoms. Thus, Ayurveda is fruitful in treating patients with Ardita. Keywords: Ardita, Nasya, Pindasweda, Kukkutanda sweda, Akshitarpan

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyze a few recent earthquakes, gain insights into the role of social resilience in the severity of disaster impact and offer plausible approaches to mitigate future disaster impact. Managing and alleviating social and psychological harm among people, in the face of recurring disasters in the world, is very important. Design/methodology/approach – An approach of event comparison has been adopted in this paper. Three recent earthquake events, the 2012 event in Haida Gwaii, Canada, the 2010 event in Christchurch, New Zealand, and the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami have been examined through the lens of social resilience of affected population. Findings – Japanese people illustrated patience, tolerance and consideration for other impacted people, proving that it is an effective and efficient approach to dealing with a disaster. New Zealand’s resilience can be attributed to having a governance that is well aware of the hazards in the country. In Canada, however, as of 2001, there are barely any government-funded programs geared toward seismic risks research. Although economically, politically and technologically similar countries can easily learn from this review on resilience, it is important to recognize that there are limitations. Originality/value – The research provides a unique point of view into three different cases of earthquake occurred recently in developed economies. The analysis presented in the paper focuses on social resilience, governance and people’s reaction to the disaster which is vital for disaster risk reduction strategies and programs development as well as implementation.

This study examines the emergence of Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation (pdia) and asks whether or not it is a representation of Organization Development (od). It starts by consideringpdiaas a political science phenomenon, and then moves on to consider it from an organizational point of view in light of the disciplinary backgrounds, the preferred strategies of intervention, and the role of change agents of both approaches. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five senior development officials utilizingpdiaat their work to gain a detailed explanation ofpdiain practice. In addition, the author corresponded with the co-originator ofpdia, Matt Andrews, for further analysis. During the course of the study it emerged thatpdiadoes constitute a new approach—in its focus on the gradual discovery of solutions for locally-led problems and broad engagement of multi-agent leadership groups. In addition, pdia’s emphasis on iteration facilitates learning and adjustment. Although these elements have their roots inodand other earlier approaches, the combination is genuinely innovative.

AbstractThis paper will highlight the close relationship between Wittgenstein’s life and train of thought, using his treatment of solipsism as an example. The intensity with which Wittgenstein explored this theme hints towards an existential and cultural background that is further developed in a comparison of his works with the entries in his diaries. The treatment of solipsism will be presented as an expression of an inner wrestling for the correct view of world and life. The transition from early to late philosophical thought is paired with a revised understanding of the concept of a felicitous life, which in turn is reflected in an altered understanding of language. The replacement of an analysis of the general form of propositions by the description of language games and the departure from logical forms towards forms of life - from a practical point of view - corresponds with a new approach to overcoming alienation. For a systematic assessment of Wittgenstein’s initial espousal of solipsism (in the Tractatus) and his later criticism (in the Philosophical Investigations), the various types of solipsism, which Wittgenstein used as benchmarks, will be taken into consideration, in particular, Weininger’s ethical solipsism, Schopenhauer’s contemplative aesthetic solipsism as well as Descartes’ methodological solipsism.

The scientific paper proposes a pragmatic perspective of presenting some theoretical and practical aspects regarding a new approach within the studied organization, a process-based approach. The point of view submitted is a small part of the possibilities to implement the process-based approach. For an overview, I did a presentation of the organization in which I carry out my activity, the Sibiu County Directorate for the Registration of Persons, I showed the place and the role of the organization. Later, I explained the way, was organized and the activities that take place in the organization. An important aspect was the realization, in the organization, of personal analysis to make a new, process-based approach. Based on these processes we have made a current map of processes. A further direction of research is building a new process map following analysis to improve the processes within the studied public organization. Subsequently, we intend to execute the modeling of processes with a method that we will establish later.

Nowadays media has developed broadly and it consists of several television networks, press, radio, etc. On the one side, such media development has positive impact, but on the other side, it has negative impact which affects education and formation of new generations. As a basketballer and trainer of young ages I will focus in the role of media in the education of children from the sports point of view. Technological and economic development after the ‘90s brought with it a new approach: - unequal broadcasting of television programmes for all the sports disciplines, because in our country, for economic interests, only football is covered and such abuse goes to the point of using the term “sports news” and the only news is about football, or even Albanian sports newspaper in which the only information is about football. Wouldn’t it be better to say “Albanian football” instead?! The contrary one finds in the “Albanian sports” which pages cover all sports. Moreover, such phenomenon has negative impact on the education of generations that increasing are dreaming about football, spend money about football, avoid other alternatives thinking that football is the only way to have a luxury living, being rich and famous.

Abstract This paper concerns the way that phenomenal consciousness helps us to know things about the world. Most discussions of how consciousness contributes to our store of knowledge focus on propositional knowledge. In this paper, I recast the problem in terms of practical knowledge by reconstructing some neglected strands of argument in William James’s analyses of bodily affect and habitual action in The Principles of Psychology (1890/1950). I will argue that my reading of James’s view provides a plausible account of how phenomenally conscious states feed practical knowledge. I will also show that my reconstruction of James view harmonizes well with recent empirical findings.
