This literature review of tenosynovitis of hand and wrist concentrates on the definition of tenosynovitis, aetiology and causative factors, site of occurrence, general methods of treatment and specific occupational therapy procedures. Despite extensive research into tenosynovitis, very little is yet known about causative factors. There also continues to be much controversy surrounding how to use splinting and the usefulness of rest in the treatment of tenosynovitis. On the basis of descriptive studies it can be said that tenosynovitis mostly affects the wrist and hand and more commonly the extensor tendon of the right/dominant hand. It is suggested that tenosynovitis occurs more commonly in females and the peak incidence is in the 35–40 years age group. Common opinions regarding causative factors are work related, infections and manifestations of diseases. Treatment of tenosynovitis mostly lies in rest and splinting and some suggest that electrotherapy and diathermy may help. If conservative treatment fails, many advocate surgery.

Background: A unified or consensus definition of “sustainable working life” remains lacking, although studies investigating risk factors for labour market exit are numerous. In this study, we aimed (1) to update the information and to explore a definition of “sustainable working life” via a systematic literature review and (2) to describe the working life trajectories via the prevalence of sickness absence (SA), disability pension (DP), and unemployment in a Swedish twin cohort to provide a sample overview in our Sustainable Working Life-project. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted to explore the studies with the search phrase “sustainable working life” in PubMed, PsycInfo, and the Web of Science Database of Social Sciences in January 2021, resulting in a total of 51 references. A qualitative synthesis was performed for the definitions and the measures of “sustainable working life.” Based on the Swedish Twin project Of Disability pension and Sickness absence (STODS), the current dataset to address sustainable working life includes 108 280 twin individuals born between 1925 and 1990. Comprehensive register data until 2016 for unemployment, SA and DP were linked to all individuals. Using STODS, we analysed the annual prevalence of SA, DP, and unemployment as working life trajectories over time across education and age groups. Results: The reviewed 16 full articles described several distinct definitions for sustainable working life between 2007 and 2020 from various perspectives, i.e., considering workplaces or employees, the individual, organizational or enterprise level, and the society level. The definition of “sustainable working life” appearing most often was the swAge-model including a broad range of factors, e.g., health, physical/mental/psychosocial work environment, work motivation/satisfaction, and the family situation and leisure activities. Our dataset comprised of 81%–94% of individuals who did not meet SA, DP, or unemployment during the follow-up in 1994–2016, being indicative for “sustainable working life.” The annual prevalence across years had a decreasing trend of unemployment over time, whereas the prevalence of SA had more variation, with DP being rather stable. Both unemployment and DP had the highest prevalence among those with a lower level of education, whereas in SA, the differences in prevalence between education levels were minor. Unemployment was highest across the years in the youngest age group (18–27 years), the age group differences for SA were minor, and for DP, the oldest age group (58–65 years) had the highest prevalence. Conclusions: No consensus exists for a “sustainable working life,” hence meriting further studies, and we intend to contribute by utilising the STODS database for the Sustainable Working Life project. In the upcoming studies, the existing knowledge of available definitions and frameworks will be utilised. The dataset containing both register data and self-reports enables detailed follow-up for labour market participation for sustainable working life.

This article is about implementing lean production in a company and problems with this process. Firstly it focuses on the definition of lean production. From literature review we find that there isn’t uniform opinion on the process of implementing lean production. Every author focuses on usage of different framework and tools during this process. In the article, there is mentioned problem of evaluating the level of implementation of lean production in the companies too. Secondly article presents the opinion of the authors about the principles of implementation of lean production. It is mechanism based on variability and buffers in the production systems. Little’s law is presented as a main tool that can help to better understand the process and manage the implementation in the right way. Finally there is shortly presented practical use of this law and mechanism in real company.

The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between dynamic muscular endurance of the hand (according to the tapping test) with the state of psychophysiological functions of qualified female handball players at different stages of sports training. Diagnostic complex "Diagnostics-1" (MV Makarenko, VS Lyzogub) was used to determine the state of psychophysiological functions of athletes, the maximum rate ofmovement of the brush. Dynamic muscular endurance of the right and left brushs, properties of the nervous system (functional mobility and strength of nervous processes), the effectiveness of sensorimotor activity and the dynamics of nervous processes, the latency period of a complex reaction of choice, the accuracy of the reaction to a moving object were studied in accordance with the purpose of the study. Dynamic muscular endurance of subdominant hand was significantly higher in older female athletes. There is a tendency to increase the dynamic muscular endurance of the dominant hand in older female athletes. The asymmetry according to the indicators of the tapping test between the right and left hand was lower in the older age group than in the younger age group. In general, the results indicate a higher level of dynamic muscular endurance of both arms in older female athletes, who are more adapted to long-term specific physical activity. That is, the improvement of special training in handball leads to the development of dynamic muscular endurance. This is confirmed by the results of the correlation analysis of the obtained data: dynamic muscular endurance of the subdominant arm was associated with the experience of sports training. The maximum rate of movement of the brush of both hands in the surveyed female athletes was associated with the strength of nervous processes and the accuracy of the reaction to a moving object. The dynamic muscular endurance of the dominant hand' brush was associated with the functional mobility of nervous processes.

This study reports the characteristics, causes and disposal of isolated injuries to the hand and wrist presenting to six accident and emergency departments over a period of 4 months. The rate of isolated injury to the hand or wrist was 6.6%. The male: female ratio was 2.2: 1, with the mean age for injury being 26.4 years in men and 29.2 years in women. The modal age group for injury was 21–25 years in men and 11–15 years in women. The right and left hand were injured almost equally. The dominant hand was more commonly injured although this was influenced by the cause of injury: 16.3% were caused by a fall; 15% by sport; and 7% were work/machinery related. 13.3% were referred to specialities for further treatment.

In the discipline of Islamic law research, strong proofing and clear Istinbat method are key pillars in the construction of Islamic law based on the application of the science of usul al-fiqh and maqasid al-shari'ah. However, what happens at the state of Johor’s fatwa institution is the opposite. The fatwa research methods applied by the Fatwa Committee of Johor in resolving current fatwa issues is not based on the right and true discipline of Islamic law research. In fact, current inputs related to fatwa issues are not explicitly stated in the method of determining the law either in the form of reality or scientifically verified. Therefore, this paper will discuss the fatwa procedures undertaken by the Fatwa Committee of Johor based on the methods applied in resolving current issues. The research methodology adopted is library and interview methods. This study shows that fatwa management and production in the state of Johor is placed under the jurisdiction of the Mufti of Johor’s Department. The methods adopted by the Fatwa Committee of Johor covers two methods, namely: internal research methods including literature review through the application of original source and proofs based on syarak. Second: field research method that includes an external review or going to the location of study such as conducting observation, questionnaires and interviews including referrals to specialists of different fields. Maslahah and mafsdah consideration are also implemented by the Fatwa Committee in every fatwa decision based on the standard that meets the interests of maqasid al-shari'ah.

The relevance of the interpretation of constitutional and legal guarantees of the right to vote is mediated by isolated scientific research in this area, as well as the lack of a universal approach to legal guarantees. In this regard, the purpose of the article is to argue and disclose the author’s definitive aspect of the claimed guarantees. In the work, the author named and characterized the normative (based exclusively on legal means) with the perspective of a branch of legal and technical; regulatory and institutional (combines the formal aspect with the activities of authorized entities) and associated legal (including a set of legal and other aspects) approaches to the definition of legal guarantees. Based on the second approach, as well as combining the guarantees of the right to vote directly guarantees of the subjective right itself and guarantees of its implementation, the author offers a definition of constitutional and legal guarantees of the right to vote.

This study investigated, through observation of the Tshivenḓa female dress codes, the socio-cultural significance of such dress codes as a means of non-verbal communication. The non-verbal meaning embedded in different items of dresses conveys messages from the wearers to observers. The study adopted  a qualitative  design, since it used  document analysis and literature review as a means to adduce evidence that Tshivenḓa dress codes not only communicate socio-cultural meanings to the observer, but also signify gender, age group, rank, authority, status, and identity, as well as power relations—including the supernatural and the sacred. The study also revealed that there are dress codes that are specifically worn during initiation ceremonies among the Vhavenḓa people. In conclusion, we recommend that knowledge of Tshivenḓa dress codes should form part of the overall indigenous knowledge that needs to be studied in institutions of basic and higher education, and that for the sake of preserving this valuable information, communities need to be proactive in disseminating it to the younger generation.
