In the present investigation, the authors have performed an in silico–based analysis on a series of arylthiophene derivatives for the determination of their structural features responsible for farnesyltransferase (FTase) inhibitory activity, hERG blocking activity, and toxicity by quantitative structure–activity relationship and pharmacophore analysis techniques. The statistically significant models derived through multiple linear regression analysis were validated by different validation methods. The applicability of the descriptors contributed in the selected models show that the polar and polarizable properties on the van der Waals (vdW) surface area of the molecules are important for the FTase inhibitory and hERG blocking activities, while being detrimental for the toxicity of the molecules. It is interesting to note that the topological properties, molecular flexibility, and connectivity of the molecules are positively correlated to all the activities (FTase inhibition, hERG blocking, and toxicity). This implies that the flexibility of the molecules is the common feature for interaction in all targets, whereas the presence of polar groups on the molecular surface (vdW) is a determinant for the favorable (FTase inhibition) or unwanted effect (hERG blocking and toxicity) of the molecules. The pharmacophore analysis of the molecules demonstrated that the aromatic/hydrophobicity and polarizability features are important pharmacophore contours favorable for these activities.

Abstract Background-- Our previous studies have identified that both gender and genotype of MTHFR C677T were independent variables for plasma homocysteine (Hcy) levels. Based on these results, we want to further explore their systemic information, in order to find specific risk factors for each genetic group, which might be used as predictors or targeting markers for lowering Hcy levels. Patients and Methods--This cross section study was performed through November 2017 to July 2019. A total of 4534 adults aged 20-75y were selected for this study, and all of them underwent a physical examinations and MTHFR C677T genotyping. Results--The average of Hcy level was higher in TT genotype than CC and CT genotypes (P=0.000). Multiple linear regression analysis found that except the common protective factors (folate and Vit B12) and risk factor (Cr), each group has it specific risk factors for HHcy---female-CT (age, SBP and Hb), female-TT (SBP and AST); male-CC (age, AST and Hb), male-CT (age and AST) and male-TT (SBP, AST and Hb).Conclusion--The plasma Hcy level was influenced by different risk factors for specific gender and genotype. These risk factors might be useful for prediction or prevention of HHcy in the future.

The development achievement of an economic activity can be measured by economic growth. Economic growth will improve if there are activities carried out by humans for the prosperity of the earth and their prosperity. An important factor for increasing economic growth is international trade, one of which is exports. Allah SWT has created in every region and country the advantages and disadvantages. The main factor that also has an influence on the economic development of a country / region is investment activities. Regarding investment in the Al Qur’an, it is clearly stated that investing is a way that is ordered by Allah SWT not to leave the weak generation. In this study, an analysis of the economic growth of the province of Jambi was conducted in 2012-2019. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of using the R application, there is a significant influence between the export variable and the investment variable on the economic growth variable. The modeling results obtained are Y = 5848.0543 + 0.8886X1 + 0.7929X2. Every increase in exports of 1 billion and investment is considered constant, it will increase economic growth by 0.8886 billion. Every increase in investment of 1 billion and exports are considered constant, it will increase economic growth by 0.7929 billion. The coefficient of determination of 94.06 percent means that the diversity of economic growth variables can be explained by the export and the investment, the remaining 5.94% is explained by other variables not included in the regression model.

In this research, we have developed two-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (2D-QSAR) and group-based QSAR (GQSAR) models employing a dataset of 78 carbamate derivatives (acetylcholinesterase enzyme inhibitors). The developed models were validated using various stringent validation parameters. From the insights obtained from the developed 2D-QSAR and GQSAR models, we have found that the structural features appearing in the models are responsible for the enhancement of the inhibitory activity against the AChE enzyme. Furthermore, we have performed the pharmacophore modeling to unveil the structural requirements for the inhibitory activity. Additionally, molecular docking studies were performed to understand the molecular interactions involved in binding, and the results are then correlated with the requisite structural features obtained from the QSAR and pharmacophore models.

A quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) study on a series of analogs of 5-aryl thiazolidine-2, 4-diones with activity on PPAR-α and PPAR-γwas made using combination of various thermodynamic, electronic and spatial descriptors. Several statistical regression expressions were obtained using multiple linear regression analysis. The best QSAR model was further validated by leave one out cross validation method. The studied revealed that for dual PPAR-α/γactivity dipole-dipole energy and PMI-Z play significant role and contributed positively for PPAR-γand PPAR-α activity respectively. Thus, QSAR brings important structural insight to aid the design of dual PPAR-α /γreceptor agonist.
