A significant lesson for those assessing the work of others stems from the necessity to review what has been written before. It remains a common but human error to misinterpret or misrepresent the words of others and indeed, for inconsistencies in these to become apparent. This is certainly so in the field of congenital hand surgery and especially so with discussion of thumb duplication/polydactyly. Many of the presentations in this journal issue deal with the subject of thumb duplication. All involve a consideration of classification despite an emphasis on investigative measures and techniques in some. For ease of reading, I will place my comments on these articles within the categories of classification, investigations assisting management decisions and alternative techniques, though the contents of each article are not necessarily restricted to these categories.

The purpose was to establish a ranking of the 50 most cited articles about wrist surgery and analyse their features. Science Citation Index Expanded was used to identify the 50 most frequently cited orthopaedic journal articles written in English, searching for the topic “wrist surgery” in the subject category ‘‘Orthopaedics’’. Then, we analysed the number of citations, citation density, authorship, article institution, the year of publication, the country of origin of the article, name and impact factor of the journal, and publication type of the article. The 50 most cited articles were published in only 6 of the 74 journals included under the category “orthopaedics”. Citation count ranged from 256 for the first one to 67 for the 50th article. Most of them were written by American authors. These articles were published between 1991 and 2011. “Distal Radius Fractures” was the most common issue. This type of bibliographic analysis could be particularly useful for other young Authors who would like to improve their research in wrist and hand surgery and make their publications more citable and appreciated by the scientific community.

During the time of Imam al-Magrizi (766-845 H), inflation had occurred in Egypt. Al-Magrizi shows about the theory of inflation. Inflation becomes a discourse that studied heavily in the subject of the economy. Al-Magrizi is an Islamic economic thought who did a particular study of money and inflation. The paper focused on al-Magrizi inflation theory caused by two factors, namely natural factors and human error factors. To solve these factors, a nation could apply Islamic monetary policy to Umar Chapra's thought, namely a credit-oriented (financing) location as a solution of natural factor theory. Also, moral suasion or moral appeals as a solution to the human factor inflation theory.

The measures currently being implemented to support scientific, technical and innovative activities are directly or indirectly aimed at developing the scientific, technical and innovative potential of the regions. However, the existing approaches to assessing scientific, technical and innovative potential do not allow obtaining complete information for making further management decisions This article attempts to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the currently used approaches to assessing the scientific, technical and innovative potential of the regions. The subject of the analysis was both the approaches presented exclusively in the form of theoretical constructions, and those that are used in the practice of public administration, conducting economic activities and developing regional ratings based on scientific, technical and innovative potential. In order to see a broader context of the problem of analyzing the scientific, technical and innovative potential of regions, the approaches used in other countries with a federal structure and the approaches used by international organizations were considered.

Congenital differences of the hand are common in a pediatric hand surgery practice. The child’s global health and genetic counseling should be addressed before focusing on the upper limb disorder. Appropriate referral is necessary to facilitate education about the congenital difference and its effect on subsequent generations. The physician must be comfortable and have a sound understanding of the diagnosis and treatment algorithm. Reoperation rates are high for even the most common congenital hand defects treated by experienced surgeons. Syndactyly, polydactyly, thumb hypoplasia, and symbrachydactyly are particularly commonplace and are discussed in this review. The main aim when treating these disorders is improving hand function; however, aesthetics must also be considered when planning surgery. This review contains 36 figures, 3 tables and 50 references  Key words: congenital hand differences, pediatric hand, symbrachydactyly, syndactyly, thumb duplication, thumb hypoplasia

The article justifies the relevance of research and management of social and labour relations policy (PSTO) in the enterprise in the context of innovation. A detailed structure of social and labor relations at the enterprise is presented, involving the identification of five constructive and five destructive types of STO, with justification of their key parameters (indicators of types of STO). The conceptual points of the PSTO diagnosis are emphasized, which justify the legality of the identification of three types of policy in accordance with the established structure of social and labour relations: progressive (constructive); regressive (destructive); Transformative (transient) having three varieties. A profile technique based on the use of a Questionnaire and a Diagnostic Map of the PSTO type is proposed and illustrated on conditional examples. The article identifies the application directions of the proposed methodology: analysis of the relief of the PSTO profile; Monitoring of HSS level indicators; Substantiation of targeted management decisions aimed at optimization of the STO structure. The results of pilot testing of the methodology, which support its typical character and justify the legality of replication in the subject-matter publications, are presented and analyzed.

Variation in the forms of Mousterian tools has been attributed to a number of factors, including style, function, and more recently, differential reduction. This study compares the influences of two factors, reduction and the shapes of tool blanks, on the forms of scrapers from a Mousterian site in Italy. In the subject assemblages, the shapes of the tool blanks had a much stronger influence on scraper forms than had reduction. To the extent that blank form affects typology in other cases, explanations of contrasts among Mousterian assemblages would need to account for the use of alternative techniques of flake production. Since typological variation is multicausal, it would also appear more profitable to focus directly on variables pertinent to current research issues, rather than on reinterpreting the typology.

The subject of the study is the implementation control measures operations of entitie's real estate. The purpose of the article is to identify the tasks of real estate transactions control. The basis of the research methodology is the application of a systematic approach, methods of analysis, synthesis, bibliographic research and modeling. The main types of real estate transactions of business entities are identified. It is proposed to identify the tasks of their control on the basis of the functions performed by the management system. It is istablished that the content of control tasks when planning real estate transactions is determined according to the expectations of stakeholders regarding future events and their results. The necessity to formalize the relevant tasks to determine their compliance with the interests of the business entity and persons interested in information about its activities is proved. It is grounded that during the formation and implementation of management decisions the real estate control tasks have to include the possibility of ensuring their compliance with economic, social and other interests of stakeholders according to determination their acceptability in terms of consistency with formalized algorithms. The control tasks solving at the stage of assessing  of the implementation status of the management decisions involves determining the operations results of the controlled entity with real estate on the basis of the received information. At the stage of real estate transactions regulation the tasks of control  should be to establish the grounds for  management decisions making adjustments to the activity. The formulated tasks of control of real estate transactions of entities provide an opportunity to determine the target direction of measures, as a result of which stakeholders will be able to adequately assess their content, quality characteristics and results. Solving the control tasks identified during the study will help meet the needs of stakeholders in the necessary information, optimize the organizational, informational and methodical support of control.

The advent of fasciotomy by intralesional collagenase injection has been a significant step forward in the treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture. While the therapeutic benefit of collagenase injection in the treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture has been established, seeking its value relative to the surgery has stimulated an interesting debate about the management of the condition, causing us to examine the results of surgery in more detail. Dupuytren’s disease and its treatment has become topical and will be the subject of the hand surgery symposium at this year’s Plastic Surgery Congress from 30 May – 1 June 2019 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Victoria, Australia.

The article is devoted to the study of methodological bases and information-analytical aspects of foreign trade statistics. The subject and main tasks of foreign trade statistics are determined. The general principles of formation of the official statistical methodology are considered. Methods of research of structure and dynamics of foreign trade are systematized. As a result, there are two main groups: non-formalized methods (qualitative) and formalized methods (quantitative). A system of indicators used for analytical characterization of foreign trade is proposed. The proposed system is the most informative for assessing foreign trade in order to form management decisions to solve the identified problems and increase the relevant performance indicators.
