The paper analyzes the comparative effectiveness of Computer-Assisted Learning (CAL) and the traditional teaching method in biology on primary school pupils. A stratified random sample consisted of 214 pupils from two primary schools in Novi Sad. The pupils in the experimental group learned the biology content (Chordate) using CAL, whereas the pupils in the control group learned the same content using traditional teaching. The research design was the pretest-posttest equivalent groups design. All instruments (the pretest, the posttest and the retest) contained the questions belonging to three different cognitive domains: knowing, applying, and reasoning. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and standard error were analyzed using the software package SPSS 14.0, and t-test was used in order to establish the difference between the same statistical indicators. The analysis of results of the post?test and the retest showed that the pupils from the CAL group achieved significantly higher quantity and quality of knowledge in all three cognitive domains than the pupils from the traditional group. The results accomplished by the pupils from the CAL group suggest that individual CAL should be more present in biology teaching in primary schools, with the aim of raising the quality of biology education in pupils.

Peer review is an important teaching method of writing. College English has a large vocabulary, complex situations and high degree of specialization, which are difficult points in teaching. Through peer review, students can benefit a lot, such as enhancing interest in college English reading and writing through the exchange of reading and evaluation, enhancing initiative in writing and improving their abilities to identify errors and appreciate English articles. In this paper, the applications of the learning method of peer review in college English teaching were investigated, and it was found that teacher’s behavior, time arrangement and student’s behavior were all particularly important and needed to be arranged in a scientific way. On the other hand, a student-oriented teaching model of “trinity” was also presented, which covered three target elements: ability, knowledge and education. In this paper, a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was used to evaluate the learning outcomes of peer review, and an evaluation indicator system for students’ learning ability and the weights thereof were established. According to the actual situation of the evaluated objects, four evaluation grades were selected, that is, excellent, good, fair and poor. Our teaching experiment showed that through this learning model, students have improved their English writing ability and reading comprehension ability to a certain degree, as well as their self-learning ability, which is beneficial to the consolidation of their learning effect.

Applying an appropriate teaching method plays an important role in the teaching or learning process including teaching listening as a skill. The listening skill is one of the four most important and difficult skill to be taught in English. Students are facing a difficulty either in understanding native speaker or in producing native-like English (accent/pronunciation). They are also unprepared to function in the new word. And then, in most class students are unmotivated and act as passive listeners. This study aimed to find out whether using computer assisted language learning (CALL) method affect listening skill. In this study, using computer assisted language learning (call) method as the independent variable (X) and students’ listening skill as the dependent variable (Y), with the hypothesis: using computer assisted language learning (CALL) method affects on students’ listening skill of seventh year students of SMP NEGERI 3 STABAT  at academic year 2018/2019. The population of this study was seventh year students of SMP NEGERI 3 STABAT at academic year 2018/2019, which consisted of 185 students. The sample was taken by using random sampling technique, the total sample  was 60 students. Then, the sample was divided into two groups, the group taught by using computer assisted language learning (CALL) was as the experimental group and the group taught without computer assisted language learning (CALL) was as the control group. The  writer used test as the instrument of collecting data. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the value of t-observed (to) was higher than the value of t-table, (tobserved = 8,39 > ttable = 1.67). Therefore, the hypothesis proposed by the writer was accepted. In the other words, using computer assisted language learning (CALL) affects listening skill of seventh year students of SMP NEGERI 3 STABAT at academic year 2018/2019.

Peer teaching is a strategy that allows the students to teach the new content to each other, and they must be accurately guided by instructors.     The researcher proposes that the use of students peer teaching  may promote students' achievement  and ensure the engagement of all the students in the learning process. Therefore, the researcher employs it as a teaching method aiming at investigating its  effect on Iraqi EFL students' achievement in the course of Library and Research Work .      The study hypothesizes that there is no significant difference between the students' achievement who are taught library and research work by students peer teaching  and that of the students taught by the traditional way. The experimental design of the study is Parallel Groups, Random Assignment, posttest. Each group consists of 35 students, chosen randomly from the Third Year Students at the Department of English in the College of Basic Education. Both groups were matched in terms of their age and parents' education. The experiment was fulfilled in the first course for 15 weeks during the academic year 2016-2017.       The same materials were presented to both groups. This included   units from Writing Research Paper by Lester D. . Post-test was constructed and exposed  The t-test for  independent samples was used to analyze the results and it is found out that there is a statistical difference between the two groups in their achievement because the calculated t- value 2.635 is bigger than the tabulated t- value which is 2.000, and also shown the superiority of the experimental group. The results indicate that the experimental group, who was taught Library and Research Work by peer teaching   was better than the control group, who was taught according to the traditional way. So, the null hypothesis is rejected. Finally, some recommendations and suggestions are presented in the light of the study findings. to a jury of experts to verify its validity and it was administered to both groups.

AbstractThis study investigates the effectiveness of the reflection-based reciprocal teaching (RBRT) approach for Myanmar upper secondary school students’ reading comprehension in English. In the RBRT approach, the main frame is based on the reflective teaching model for reading comprehension (Oo and Habók in Int Electron J Elementary Educ 13(1):127–138, 2020), in which the reciprocal teaching method (involving questioning, clarifying, summarizing, and predicting) was applied. This study used cluster randomized trials. Two groups participated in the research: the experimental group, who were taught with the RBRT approach, and the control group, who were taught with traditional methods. Results showed that the RBRT approach has a strong effect on students’ English reading comprehension achievement. The experimental group increased its achievement on the posttest significantly, and the students’ results showed high effect size. It was also found that teachers’ reflection on the instructional context had a considerable impact on raising students’ reading comprehension achievement. The RBRT approach can be successfully applied in the classroom environment to develop students’ reading comprehension in English in Myanmar.

Based on the principle of fuzzy matter-element analysis, the concept of information entropy is introduced to establish a fuzzy matter-element evaluation method. This method is utilized to comprehensively evaluate the degree of debris flow. The classifications of debris flow are regarded as the objects of matter-element and their indexes for evaluation as well as the corresponding fuzzy values are used to construct the composite fuzzy matter-elements. By calculating the relevancy the comprehensive evaluation of debris flow can be carried out. This model is applied to analyze the degree of debris flow in the practical application. The application shows that the model is effective and practical.
