Abstract Background Childbirth preparation trainings are an important component of prenatal education, and pregnant women are increasingly interested in seeking information from online sources. The aim of this study is to compare the feasibility and the effects of in-person and virtual childbirth preparation training courses on the pregnancy experience, fear of childbirth (FOC), birth preference, and type of delivery among pregnant women. Methods In total, 165 primiparous women referring to a prenatal clinic at Milad Hospital in Tehran, will be included in this study. The subjects will be selected using the convenience sampling method and will be divided into three groups of study A, study B, and control. The study groups A and B will receive virtual and in-person childbirth training with similar content, respectively. The control group will receive only routine prenatal care. In the 18th and 20th weeks of pregnancy, the demographic information, pregnancy experience scale (PES), and version A of the Wijma delivery expectancy/experience questionnaire (WDEQ-A) will be completed, and in the 36th and 38th weeks of pregnancy, the PES and WDEQ-A questionnaires, as well as birth preference form will be completed. The type of delivery will be recorded in the first few days of postpartum. Conclusion This quasi-experimental clinical trial will investigate the effect of virtual childbirth preparation training on primiparous women. The expected outcomes will include the difference in pregnancy experience measured by the brief version of PES, the difference in FOC measured by WDEQ-A, the birth preference, and the type of delivery. BACKGROUND Background and Aims: Childbirth preparation courses are the most important educational components during pregnancy. There have been changes in the health-related educational approaches and an increase in the tendency of pregnant women to acquire information from online resources so far. OBJECTIVE the current study aimed to compare the effect of childbirth preparation education using two methods of in-person and social networks on the experience of pregnancy, fear of childbirth, the birth preference, and type of delivery among pregnant women. METHODS In total, 165 primiparous women referring to the prenatal clinic affiliated to Milad Hospital in Tehran, Iran, will be done in this study. The sampling has been fulfilled through convenience sampling method and the participants will be divided into three groups of control and intervention 1 and 2 weekly. The intervention begins in 20th weeks of gestation and lasts until 37th gestational weeks. The intervention group 1 is subjected to educational content based on Mayer's Principles of multimedia learning using PDF files, images, videocasts, and podcasts. On the other hand, the subjects in the intervention group 2 will receive the same content using the in-person method through textbooks, movies, and medical moulages. The pretest will be performed at 18-20 weeks of gestation using a demographic characteristics form, Pregnancy Experience Scale (PES), and version A of Wijma Delivery Expectancy/Experience Questionnaire (WDEQ-A). In addition, at 36-38 weeks of gestation, the posttest will be carried out using PES, WDEQ-A, and birth preference. The type of delivery will be recorded a few days postpartum. RESULTS it is a protocol study. no result CONCLUSIONS This semi-experimental clinical trial with a control group tests the effect of virtual childbirth preparation courses on primiparous women. The expected outcomes included the improvement of pregnancy experience measured by the shortened form of PES, a decrease in the fear of childbirth measured by WDEQ-A, and the difference between the birth preference and type of delivery. Background. Men have a special role to play in promoting maternal and child health during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period. The health of women also requires the participation and cooperation of men. The aim of this study is to compare the effect of virtual and face-to-face childbirth preparation training for spouses of the primiparous women on the pregnancy experience, fear of childbirth (FOC), and mother- and father-infant attachment. Methods. The primiparous women attending the prenatal clinics of Lolagar Hospital and Azadi and Tehransar health centers of Tehran along with their husbands will be studied. The inclusion criteria for the women’s husbands are the first experience of becoming a father, being at least 18 years of age, and the ability to read and write. The exclusion criteria for women’s husbands are the history of physical/mental illness; being a smoker; and consuming alcohol, drugs, or psychotropic substances. The participants will be selected by the convenience sampling method and will be divided into three groups of study A, study B, and control. Spouses in study groups A and B will receive childbirth training through virtual and face-to-face methods with similar content, respectively. The control group only receives ordinary prenatal care. At the 18–20 weeks of gestation, demographic information, pregnancy experience scale (PES), and version A of Wijma delivery expectancy/experience questionnaire (WDEQ-A) will be completed. At 37-38 weeks of gestation, the PES and WDEQ-A questionnaires will be completed again and maternal postnatal attachment scale (MPAS) and postnatal paternal-infant attachment questionnaire (PPAQ) will be completed by the parents 12 weeks after the delivery. Discussion. Improving the experience of pregnancy, especially reducing the FOC and creating a positive attitude towards it, is a vital strategy to promote vaginal childbirth and reduce the number of cesarean sections requested by women. Achieving this will reduce the cost of health care and improve the quality of life during pregnancy, after childbirth, and during the growth and development of infants. Ethics and Dissemination. This research has been funded by the Iran University of Medical Sciences, approved by the Thailand Registry of Clinical Trials, and will commence in May 2020. Results will be disseminated through peer-reviewed journals and shared with the academic and medical community to pregnancy and childbirth outcomes. This trial is registered with TCTR20200515011.

Introduction The spouse has a special role in promoting the health of mothers and infants during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Women's health during pregnancy requires the participation and cooperation of their spouses. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effect of face-to-face and virtual prenatal care training of spouses on the pregnancy experience and fear of childbirth of primiparous women. Methods This is a quasi-experimental clinical trial that was conducted on primiparous pregnant women referring to three prenatal clinics in Tehran, Iran. Sampling was done by available method and pregnant women were divided into three groups of face-to-face training ( n = 35), virtual training ( n = 35), and control ( n = 33). The content of training program in the virtual and face-to-face groups was similar and included; nutrition during pregnancy, emotional support, fetal growth and development, advantages and disadvantages of vaginal delivery, planning for delivery, infant care, and danger signs for infants, which were presented in four sessions. The samples in the control group did not receive any training. In the 18th and 20th weeks of pregnancy, the demographic information form, pregnancy experience scale, and version A of the Wijma delivery expectancy/experience questionnaires were completed, and once again in the 37th and 38th weeks of pregnancy, the pregnancy experience scale and version A of the Wijma delivery expectancy/experience questionnaires were completed. Results There was a statistically significant difference in the mean score of pregnancy experience after the intervention between the face-to-face training and control groups ( p = 0.001). There was a statistically significant difference in the mean score of uplifts between the two groups of face-to-face training and control ( p = 0.01), and also between virtual training and control groups ( p = 0.02). There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups of face-to-face training and control in terms of and hassles score after the intervention ( p = 0.04). There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups of face-to-face training and control ( p = 0.02) and also between virtual training and control ( p = 0.04) in terms of the mean score of fear of childbirth after the intervention. Conclusion The results of this study showed that teaching prenatal care to spouses of primiparous women by face-to-face and virtual methods can be a useful intervention in improving the pregnancy experience and reducing the fear of childbirth among primiparous women.

Introduction & Objective: Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders that more than 85% of pregnant women experience. However, controlling and treating this complication is still one of the most important issues in antenatal care. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ear acupressure at Shen Men point on relieving nausea, vomiting and retching during pregnancy. Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 100 pregnant women with a gestational age of less than 16 weeks attending the health clinics of Zabol city during 2019-2020 were studied in two control and intervention groups (n = 50 in each group). The samples in the intervention group were trained to apply pressure on their ears’ Shen Men point with the thumb for three minutes three times a day (morning, noon, and night), for a duration of one month. At the end of second and fourth weeks, the data were collected using the Rhodes index form and then, were analyzed by SPSS software version 22. Results: According to the results, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of age, gestational age, occupation and education. The difference in the mean scores of nausea, vomiting and retching was not statistically significant between the control and intervention groups before the study. But four weeks after the study, a significant difference was observed in the mean scores of vomiting, nausea and retching between the two groups, so that the mean scores of vomiting, nausea and retching were significantly lower in the intervention group than in the control group. Conclusion: The ear acupressure medicine at the Shen men point can be used as a non-invasive, safe and inexpensive method to relieve nausea, vomiting and retching during pregnancy. Anemia is one of the indirect causes of maternal mortality. The Government of Indonesia has made efforts to overcome anemia, including by giving iron tablets to pregnant women. To improve maternal compliance in consuming iron tablet healthcare workers should include family/cadres in the supervision of food and medicine. This study aims to know the effectiveness of accompaniment drinking iron tablet By Cadres Against Increasing Hb Level of Pregnant Women at Puskesmas Kota Palangka Raya. This research is a quasi-experimental design using "nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design" approach. Sampling technique total sampling is with the number of samples of 62 people divided into 2 groups, 31 intervention groups, and 31 control groups. In the intervention group involving cadres as moderate blood-boosting drink companions in the control group without blood-boosting companions. Background: Among different complications of diabetes, ddiabetic retinopathy is one of the leading causes of blindness in the world. Increase in the frequency of lower serum magnesium levels have been reported among patients with diabetes. Materials and methods: A total of 120 subjects were included in this study and divided into 3 groups. The study groups consisted of 40 patients that are type 2 diabetes with retinopathy and 40 patients with type 2 diabetes without retinopathy and control group consisted of 40 healthy subjects respectively. Both cases and controls were subjected to estimation of biochemical parameters. Results: Among the study population, (80) 66.67% participants were cases and another (40) 33.33% participants were controls. Among the people who had mild NPDR, the median Mg was 1.90 (IQR 1.80, 2.00). It was 1.90 (1.70, 2.00), 1.75 (1.67, 1.92), 1.8 (1.69, 2.0) and 2.10 (1.90, 2.20) among people with DM retinopathy moderate NPDR, severe NPDR, Proliferative retinopathy and no retinopathy respectively. The difference in the Mg across DM retinopathy was statistically significant (P Value 0.008). The difference between the values among both the case and control groups for certain parameters such as SBP, FBG, PPBG, HbA1c, Magnesium, Urea, and Creatinine were found to be statistically significant. Conclusion: Serum magnesium levels were significantly lower in patients with diabetic retinopathy compared to diabetics without complications and control group. Background: Applying a cooling treatment from outside the body is one way to lower fever in children. Midwives commonly perform a warm water compress in their care, but it is considered less effective. Thus, compress with aloe vera barbadensus miller is proposed in this study as an alternative treatment.Objective: To examine the effect of Aloe vera barbadensis miller compress in reducing body temperature in children with fever.Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest and posttest with control group design. Forty children were recruited, with twenty of them assigned in each group. Purposive sampling was performed to select the sample. A digital rectal thermometer was used to measure the temperature. Independent t- test and paired test were used for data analysis.Results: Findings showed that the aloe vera compress group showed a higher decrease of body temperature compared to the warm water compress group. The difference of body temperature after 20 minutes in the experiment group was 1.435 while in the control group was only 1.085. There were statistically significant differences in body temperature between the experiment and control group (p=0.013).Conclusion: Aloe vera barbadensis miller compress is an effective alternative therapy in reducing body temperature in children with fever.  It is recommended for midwives to apply this intervention to reduce body temperature significantly.

Background: The challenge faced by anatomy educator today is the number of medical education students added with medical competencies about the anatomy of human body that must be achieved and the limited teaching staff. Other problems are the reduced time allocation for anatomy lectures and decreasing student knowledge about the anatomy of the human body. To answer these problems, one solution that can be done is to test the most effective method to help students understand each topic given in lectures and practicum anatomy. The aim of this research was to find out the difference in learning achievement and learning motivation between Jigsaw group and control group during anatomy practicum.Method: This research was a quasi-experimental research. The samples of this research were all medical students of UHKBPN batch 2017 who were actively undergoing lectures. The number of samples of this study were 39 people, where the control group was 20 people and the Jigsaw group were 19 people. Data collection instruments were the SMTSL questionnaire and the pretest and posttest questions.Results: Bivariate analysis results showed an increase in posttest results in both groups (p <0.05). Univariate analysis results for the questionnaire scores showed that most students in the two groups had moderate motivation, while the results of the bivariate analysis showed no difference between the two groups (p> 0.05).Conclusion: The Jigsaw cooperative learning method is effective to be implemented in anatomy practicum.

This study aimed to identify the Effect of Using EDRAAK Educational Platform on the Academic Achievement among the Tenth Graders and Their Attitudes towards It, the sample of the study consisted of (50) students from the tenth grade in the Petra District Education Directorate, who were randomly divided into two groups (experimental and control). The researchers used the quasi-experimental approach, and the study tools consisted of a multiple-choice test of (20) items to measure student achievement, and an attitudes scale consisting of (24) items, and the results of the study showed There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) for teaching using EDRAAK platform on the achievement of tenth grade students in basic mathematics, where the value of t = 3.616 and by looking at the average achievement of the members of the two study groups (experimental and control) on the post-test we find that the difference is due to the average achievement of the experimental group students, which reached (10.64), while the average achievement of the control group on the post-test was (7.24). The results also showed that there are statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤0.05) for teaching using EDRAAK educational platform on the attitudes of the tenth grade basic students towards mathematics, where the value of t = 2.42, and by looking at the average trends of the members of the two study groups (experimental and control) on the post-test (attitudes), we find that the differences between the averages of students attitudes on the post-test are in the interest of the group’s students the experimental group reached (2.89), while the average attitudes of the control group students reached (2.68). The researchers recommend the necessity of adopting educational platforms as an integral part of the education process in the schools of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

A comfortable childbirth is the dream of mothers. Faster delivery progress can lead to quality midwifery care. Birth ball is a tool that can be used by mothers to position the pelvis properly, especially applied the pelvic rocking technique. This review study aimed to evaluate the evidence regarding the effect of using birth ball with pelvic rocking in duration of labor in kala I active phase. This study followed a quasi experimental research design with posttest control group design.The sample consisted of 12 treatment people dan 12 controls with the purposive sampling.Partograph was measured duration of labor in kala I active phase. The difference in duration of labor for the treatment and control group were tested with Mann Whitney. There was a difference in the effect of  using a birth ball with pelvic rocking technique in length of labor in kala I active phase in the treatment and control groups with p-value 0.001. The use of birth ball with pelvic rocking technique is evidence to speed the duration of labor in kala I active phase. Birth ball with pelvic rocking are recommended to be use an alternative to speed the duration of labor in kala I active phase in midwifery services
