Developing Tools for Recruiting of Hospital Teachers to the Network of Hospital Schools «Uchimznaem»

Hospital education is a new phenomenon in the Russian educational space that has emerged and strengthened into the pedagogical community by authors and creators of the Federal educational project "UchimZnaem". To date, the project includes seven elementary and secondary schools in Moscow and about 40 school sites in the regions of Russia. The main problem faced by the heads of hospital schools is to search and select of teachers for long-term ill children who receive education within the walls of medical institutions. After all, for the majority of teaching staff, a medical organization is not a natural environment for professional activity as in pedagogical universities no one prepared them to work in a children's hospital. In this article, the authors attempted to identify and group the main categories of requirements for a hospital teacher. The formulated requirements were then evaluated by the expert community in terms of importance and formed the basis for the scheme of the recruitment process for hospital teachers for the flagship site of the «UchimZnaem» project.

Based on long-term field studies, we investigated the hydrological regime of the lagoon-channel estuary of the Bolshaya river. This river is located in the Kamchatka Krai, which is one of the most remote and underdeveloped regions of Russia. Numerous observations were made of the estuary and its processes, and the natural environment in which it exists.

Modern social and cultural reality forces the heads of medical institutions to pay increased attention to the human factor, rethinking such basic concepts as «management» and «organization». It is important to cultivate the most comfortable person-centered work environment in medical teams. The main goal of this article was to demonstrate the feasibility of using robust management to maintain the constant attention of the medical administration on the interpersonal relations of employees. The article contains a brief description of robust management tools, a description of the person-centered approach, as well as examples of the use of robust regulators and socionic profiling estimators. The potential of robust management is not revealed when the management simply declares its merits, but when the entire medical team wants and can use it, actively involved in achieving the desired result.

Современное состояние и развитие уголовно-исполнительной системы Российской Федерации диктует необходимость овладения будущими специалистами комплексом определенных знаний, умений и навыков, позволяющих им эффективно решать служебные задачи. Одним из путей повышения профессионального уровня специалистов является формирование и развитие профессиональной культуры. Проведенный в статье анализ понятия «профессиональная культура» позволяет констатировать сложность его содержания, что связано с особенностями профессиональной деятельности сотрудников УИС, многообразием решаемых задач. Автором подробно исследуется процесс формирования профессиональной культуры в вузах ФСИН России, рассматриваются особенности работы в данном направлении профессорско-преподавательского состава, командиров строевых подразделений, сотрудников отделов по работе с личным составом, приводятся возникающие при этом проблемы и предлагаются возможные пути решения. Отмечается, что успешность формирования профессиональной культуры курсантов зависит от их профессионализма, дисциплинированности, инициативности, настойчивости и личного примера сотрудников. В заключение подчеркивается, что высокий уровень профессиональной культуры сотрудника УИС является условием успешной служебной деятельности и целью дальнейшего профессионального самосовершенствования.The current state and development of the criminal Executive system of the Russian Federation dictates the need for future specialists to master a set of certain knowledge, skills and abilities that allow them to solve official tasks effectively. One of the ways to improve the professional level of specialists is the formation and development of professional culture. The analysis of the concept of «professional culture» in the article allows us to state the complexity of its content, which is associated with the peculiarities of professional activity of employees of the UIS, the variety of tasks to be solved. The author studies in detail the process of formation of professional culture in the universities of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia, examines the features of work in this direction of the teaching staff, commanders of combat units, employees of departments for work with personnel, presents the problems arising in this case and suggests possible solutions. It is noted that the success of the formation of professional culture of cadets depends on their professionalism, discipline, initiative, perseverance and personal example. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the high level of professional culture of the employee is a condition of successful performance and the purpose of further professional self-improvement.

The article extends the discussion on the challenges in gaining access to the field in medical ethnographic research, focusing on long-term care (LTC) facilities. Medical institutions have been documented to be difficult sites to access. The reference, however, is to the recruitment of patients as informants. The challenges of recruiting practitioners as informants have not been investigated at all. The article presents the key issues that emerged in the process of gaining social access at the sites of two LTC facilities as part of a study on care workers’ identities. The main obstacles encountered during the fieldwork were organizational constraints and negotiating control over the process of recruiting the lower occupational tier of care workers with gatekeepers. The article presents the coping strategies implemented to overcome the ethical and methodological obstacles: continually reassessing the consent and cooperation of participants and developing a rapport with nurse’s aides during interviews.

Environmental commitment, the subjective experience of dependence on the natural environment, is marked by a long-term orientation and psychological attachment towards the natural environment. The current research replicates and extends previous research on temporarily increasing environmental commitment ( Davis et al., 2009 ). We employed Davis et al.’s manipulation in two experimental studies (one laboratory, one online): we asked participants to spend time writing either about ways in which they are interdependent with the natural environment (high commitment manipulation) or unconnected with the environment (low commitment manipulation). In both studies we replicated the key finding that reflecting on one’s interdependence with the environment increases commitment. We extended the previous research by finding evidence that this commitment effect was mediated by satisfaction with one’s relationship to the environment. We did not replicate the original findings that the interdependence manipulation influences environmental behavioral intentions.

Introduction. The COVID-19 pandemic may have hit the education industry the hardest, but the socio-psychological effects of quarantine are still poorly understood. A group of scientists from the Ukrainian SMC of practical psychology and social work of the NAES of Ukraine has conducted a study of the socio-psychological problems that have arisen for teaching staff of general secondary education establishments in the context of the pandemic. Purpose. The research was carried out during the implementation of the scientific topic «Overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the activities of the psychological service of the educational system» on the order of the National Research Fund of Ukraine. Design\approach\methodology. The study was conducted by interviewing educators through Google forms. Most of the questions contained a 10-step scale. In processing the data, all respondents’ answers were grouped into 5 categories: "yes", "more likely to", "more likely not", "no", "don’t know/it’s hard to say". The survey was attended by 3,209 teaching staff from general secondary education institutions from all regions of Ukraine, 45% from urban areas, 55% from rural areas; among which 92% were women and 8% were men. Results. Among the results, researchers highlighted the difficulties and fears of educators caused by the pandemic. The fears and complexities of the profession were distributed as follows. 1. The fear of getting infected (infecting family members) is common to 78.2% of the surveyed. 40.9% of the interviewed felt this fear to the greatest extent. However, 9.3% found those fears irrelevant. 2. Problems associated with the use of ICT in educational activities (lack of competence) — 53.2%. Among those, 22.2% have major difficulties and 31% have minor difficulties. Only 15.7% consider themselves fully competent. 3. 73% of educators noted difficulties in involving children in distance learning. This was the main problem for 12.8% of respondents. 4. «It is difficult to adhere to all anti-epidemic requirements in an educational institution to protect students» — 69.5% stated that this is one of the most significant problems of professional activity. 5. Emotional exhaustion, loss of emotional balance, excessive fatigue. 58.7% said that the problem was significant, of which almost 18% said it was very significant. 6. 51.1% of respondents indicated that they were unable to communicate with students' parents regarding monitoring the quality of their students' knowledge. Of these, 8.7% rated it with the highest score. 7. Health related difficulties (consequential of COVID-19). 31.2% of educators consider this problem to be relevant, while 8.9% rated it as very relevant. 30.4% of those interviewed denied the existence of such a problem. Conclusions Taking into account the results of the study, the most relevant areas in the work of the psychologists in the educational system are the following: ● prevention among educators and students of the COVID-bullying; ● working with negative emotional states of participants in the educational process and increasing their stress tolerance; ● providing socio-educational assistance to children and families in difficult life situations, and forming positive life prospects. Traditional ritual is a kind of expression of art and culture as well as a form of human appreciation of nature, gained through long term and perpetual processes. Traditional ritual thus can thus be regarded as traditional wisdom. Kawin Cai is one of the traditional rituals in Kuningan society derived from inter religious views. Through this ritual we could tell that the people respect their natural environment for sustainable living. Nonetheless, most of the symbolic practices in the ritual are no longer understood by the people, so that anthropological approach is needed to interpret them.

The article deals with the topical issue of digitalization of education as a component of the digital transformation of contemporary society and the economy in general. The purpose of the research is to identify the readiness status of teaching staff for professional activity in the context of the digitalization of education. The main research methods were the questionnaire (implemented in the form of an online survey among students of the extramural form of study of the Moscow City Pedagogical University working at educational institutions of Moscow), and statistical analysis of the data obtained. The results of an online survey of teachers allowed concluding that today teachers have acquired a positive experience in the use of recommended tested digital educational resources, the ability to develop innovative digital educational and methodological support for the educational process, as well as recognized the need to build a personal trajectory of professional development in the framework of digital education.

Abstract Introduction: Voice disorders primarily affect workers in professions with increased voice demands, such as teaching personnel in educational system, singers, lecturers, actors or managers. Severe voice disorders often require a permanent change of work position. Methods: Retrospective analysis of a set of patients with occupational voice disorders who were hospitalized at the Clinic of Occupational Medicine and Toxicology, Martin University Hospital (COMaT, MUH) in the years of 2000–2017. Comparison of the data obtained with the National Centre of Medical Information (NCMI) data on the occurrence of occupational voice disorders throughout the Slovak Republic (SR). Comparison with the retrospective analysis of reported occupational voice disorders in the years of 1967-1996. Case report of a patient with an occupational voice disorder. Results: We point to a long-term low incidence of occupational voice disorders. In the years of 2000-2017, 24 cases of occupational voice disorders were reported in Slovakia, of which 20 cases were reported under item 42-1 and 4 cases under item 42-2 in the List of Occupational Diseases. Through the COMaT, MUH 11 cases of occupational voice disorders were reported during these years, of which 9 cases were listed under item 42-1 and 2 cases under item 42-2. From 1967 to 1996 there were 52 occupational voice disorders reported in Slovakia, of which 45 were under item 42-1 and 7 under item 42-2. Conclusions: As there is a tendency to underestimate the voice difficulties among teaching staff, it is necessary to provide better information about the possible consequences, prevention, and treatment of these diseases. All of this should be in the competency of occupational health services.
