Trust: effective transition from the command-administrative relations to collaboration

This article presents the “Trust” as a micro-level institution. The article shows how to use the “Credibility” provided the institutional transition from a Command-Administrative Relations — characteristic of mass production to the cooperative relationship, which is the base of Lean Manufacturing. It is proved that a relationship of trust has a positive influence on the development of management personnel. The “subjectivity” of the latter is supporting institutional change and provides it with the enterprise longterm dynamic development.

The studies revealed that organizational change could create employee’s psychological uncertainty. However, this study argues that the quality of leader-member exchange enables to control the impact of the psychological uncertainty during the change toward employee’s attitude. This study represents job satisfaction and turnover intention as proxy of employee’s attitude for that matter. Based on social exchange theory, quality relationship of leader and employees affects on the relationship of psychological uncertainty and employee’s job satisfaction and turnover intention. This study selected private hospitals experiencing the changes of operational system for complying with national health security system. This study conducted cross-section survey for individual level-analysis. This study produces some findings. Firstly, the LMX has been failed to reduce the negative influence of psychological uncertainty towards employee’s job satisfaction, although the quality of the LMX was good. employee’s job satisfaction is more perceived as  personal afective state experienced during the organizational change. Secondly, the LMX has been successfully moderated the positive influence of the psychological uncertainty towards employee’s turnover intention.The data were collected by using questioners, distributed to the employees who worked in hospitals in Yogyakarta Province. There were 193 questioners that could be collected and analyzed by using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to test the hypothesis by using SPSS application version 21. The result of the study shows that psychological uncertainty had negative correlation to employee’s job satisfaction and positive influence to psychological uncertainty toward turnover intention. Besides, LMX was proven to moderate positive influence of psychological uncertainty toward turnover intention, but it could not moderate negative influence of psychological uncertainty toward job satisfaction.

Along with the development of technology in retail, consumers have increased their expectation about experience convenience in retail. Starting with the growth of various platform, the next development is the experience that combined both offline and online service known as Omnichannel. The Omnichannel Service Adoption is explained by Wixom Model shows the relationship of object-based beliefs, channel integration quality, perceived fluency, and internal and external usage experience as moderating effects of perceived fluency. The adoption of Omnichannel is important to deliver a consistency of data and user experience compared to multichannel. The research uses quantitative approach with Structural Equation Model (SEM) PLS for data analytic. The population is referred to Berrybenka, a prominent fashion e-commerce in Jakarta, customers. The result shows that Breadth Channel Choice, Channel Service Transparency, Content Consistency and Process Consistency have a significant and positive influence on perceived fluency. The implication and limitation of the research are also highlighted.

The present article researches the relationship of musical preferences of adolescence (pop, rock and rap) and modernity (classical, pop, rock, music lovers) with the display of personal features, such as empathy, emotional exhaustion, state and trait anxiety, pedagogical style and coping strategies. The musical genres and trends are considered as musical preferences and precedential musical phenomenon revealed empirically during the self-analysis by the subjects. The experimental study was carried out on the basis of Moscow Pedagogical State University and consisted of 4-5th-year students of Music Department. The connections between personal features and preferred musical styles of modernity were detected. The students considering classical music to be their favorite musical direction having a high level of personal resources. These results display the positive influence of classical music to the personal resources of future music teachers. This phenomenon demands further investigations and using in the field of musical education psychology. These results highlight necessity of detailed consideration on classical music relationship and personal features of bachelor students musical department during the educational process.

This research examines the direct and indirect influence of transformational leadership to performance, with employee’s shared vision as the mediating variable. 504 respondents taken from a purposive sampling based on their occupational characteristics participated in this research. The results reveal that transformational leadership has no influence to employee performance, meanwhile transformasional leadership has positive influence to shared vision among employees, and shared vision among employees has positive influence to employee performance. This research also found that shared vision among employees has a full mediation role in the relationship of transformasional leadership and employee performance. Chapter 3 combines institutional theory with strategic perspectives drawn from the sociology of organizations to examine how industrial relations actors “enact” EU rules at the micro-level of the workplace. The aim of this chapter, therefore, is to study how micro-level societal actors such as firms, unions, works councils, and individual workers interact with the changing regulatory configuration. It studies how employers enact the posting framework creatively by circumventing rules. This chapter demonstrates how these mechanisms initiate a process of institutional change through power dynamics at the micro-level that are generally relevant for theories about institutional change. In pursuit of a more nuanced understanding of the regulatory dynamics of posted work, this chapter identifies the ways in which actors draw on different power resources to influence the outcomes of negotiations or to implement policies without negotiation at the workplace level.

Seru production system is a flexible, cost-effective, workforce competence-oriented manufacturing management system that provides the opportunity to respond quickly to customer demand. As in parallel to technology and physical improvements, customer demands are also effective for development of production systems. The impact of change in demand has been seen on changeover from job shop to mass production, flexible, and lean manufacturing systems. Seru production system is more appropriate for targeting work both cost-effectively like mass production and maximum diversification like job shop production. This chapter clarifies the Seru production system and explain its use and benefits in the clothing industry. In the application, a shirt production is illustrated according to the principles of mass production, lean production, and Seru production. Thus, different types of production systems have been benchmarked. There will be potential study areas for proving the efficiency of Seru soon.

Chapter 19 examines alliances in the financial services sector, focusing on banks as the major players. It describes how banks have traditionally formed strategic alliances with other banks and established deep networks. As such they have made themselves into the sector’s banking blocks. However, since the financial crisis of 2008 the terrain has changed and banks are facing the need to digitize and adopt modern technology to a greater degree than previously. The chapter considers the impact of digitization leading to cooperation between banks and software companies and the development of new business models based on the efficiencies digitization offers. It also looks at the cooperative relationship of banks with the new area characterized as Fintech and the emergence of new financial tools like cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to enrich the explanation of the interplay between internal and external – or district shared – exploration and exploitation capabilities as antecedents of a firm’s radical and incremental innovation. Previous studies do not differentiate between exploration and exploitation in district shared capabilities and how they interact with internal capabilities.Design/methodology/approachThe paper uses hierarchical regression analysis to test the quadratic and moderating effects in a sample of 1,019 Spanish firms.FindingsResults show an increasingly positive effect on radical innovation of exploration capabilities, enhanced by shared capabilities in exploration. In the case of incremental innovation, the study finds evidence of an increasingly positive influence of exploitation capabilities and a concave relationship of exploration capabilities. Moreover, shared exploitation capabilities weaken the effect of internal exploitation capabilities and also have a direct effect on incremental innovation. Therefore, the two capabilities are interchangeable in the effect they have on incremental innovation.Practical implicationsDepending on the firm’s innovation strategy, intra-district firms should develop specific capabilities and/or concentrate on adopting the shared capabilities in the destination.Originality/valueThe study furthers the understanding of the relationship between exploration and radical innovation, and between exploitation and incremental innovation, which is more complex than previously depicted. The study also differentiates between exploration and exploitation in shared capabilities, enriching understanding of the competitiveness of district firms.

Practices of collecting are constrained by media circumstances. To show how changing media circumstances can occasion changes in collecting practices, this article explores one case study, an iOS app developed by a Phish fan to allow streaming audio of fan-made recordings of Phish concert performances. Such practices are part of a history of unofficial music collecting that parallels the history of recorded sound. This case study shows how one collecting community’s practices evolved in the context of changing media conditions: from cassette tape to CD-R to MP3 to streams (and a parallel motion from print to online message boards to app). This progression illustrates the ways that different ways of listening to and accessing recorded music afford different possibilities of collecting music, different links between listener and music, and different relationships among listeners. More precisely, Phish concert recordings, which lent themselves to collection when circulated on cassette, are no longer available to collect when they circulate as streaming media, because streaming is characterized by a relationship of access rather than possession. Among devoted fans, streaming recordings provoke a cultural emphasis on knowledge about music, rather than accumulation of recordings. My argument is rooted in prevailing theories of collecting, which situate collecting as a component of consumer culture emerging from the capitalist expansion stimulated by 19th-century mass production. Ultimately, I argue that when an object of collecting is displaced by changing media conditions, new collecting practices emerge to fill the void.
