The issues raised in this article concern the functioning of men in feminized professions. The aim of the study was to gather experiences of men working in jobs dominated by women. The research included twenty men and was conducted between February and April 2020 in Poland, using a narrative interview. Research problems were focused on men’s attitudes toward their jobs, the assessment of career advancement opportunities, advantages and disadvantages resulting from working in a feminine environment, relations with colleagues and employers, and reactions of their environment. The interviews revealed a relatively positive image of men’s experiences relating to working with women. The respondents did not notice any specific difficulties in their professions caused by gender stereotypes. They expressed a view that working among women was like any other job. Few difficulties mentioned by the respondents were related mostly to the issue of assistance in activities requiring strength or technical knowledge rather than competences related to a specific profession. Moreover, the interviewees treated their professions as an opportunity for self-development and for gaining experience that they would not have been able to gain in a typically male environment.

Currently, online learning becomes a new trend in the Indonesian education. But, the educators are not ready to adapt to online learning, especially in online learning assessments. This study aims to describe the alternative assessments in online learning that can be implemented at elementary education along with its advantages and disadvantages. This study employed a qualitative approach with the literature review method. Researchers collected a number of reputable national and international journal articles, textbooks, handbooks, regulations, and so on from the google scholar database, science direct, eric, and others related to research problems and objectives. The analysis of the literature review uses the critical appraisal method. The results of this study showed that online learning assessments that can be implemented in elementary education were formative and summative assessments. It included cognitive assessments, performance assessments, portfolios, writings and journals, self-assessment and peers-assessments. The use of online learning assessments has many advantages such as the availability to conduct tests on demand and at any time, provides direct feedback to users, the students’ quick access to the test results, and a more accurate measurement of student learning. However, online assessment systems also have several drawbacks, such as students who have low information technology (IT) skills might be disadvantaged. For this reason, in implementing online learning and assessment, teachers and students should master information and communication technology skills.

The aim of this study is to identify the determinants of turnover intention among bank employees in Kuala Lumpur. Specifically, the objective of this study is to assess the relationships between employee relations, working environment and conditions, compensation and benefit packages, career advancement opportunities and turnover intention. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed among bank employees in the Masjid Jamek area and the researchers successfully collected 120 questionnaires from the respective respondents. All the data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 23.0 version. Two types of data analysis were used - descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis was used to study the respondent demographic information such as age, gender, education level, length of services, and monthly income level. Meanwhile, the inferential analysis was used to examine the relationships between employee relations, working environment and conditions, compensation and benefit packages, career advancement opportunities and turnover intention. The results show that the relationship between turnover intention and employee relations is weak. However, working environment and conditions, compensation and benefit packages, and career advancement opportunities are moderately correlated to turnover intention among bank employees. Based on a multiple regression analysis, working environment and conditions, and compensation and benefit packages have negative and significant relationship with turnover intention.

Self-image and career orientations determine the formation and development of the future teacher as part of career advancement and professional socialization. During university studies there is a formation and development of career orientations, as well as a change of self-perception in future teachers. By understanding the prospects for career advancement and comparing them with educational opportunities and abilities, the future teacher can successfully direct self-development at achieving career goals. The effectiveness of career planning of a teacher depends largely on his/her self-confidence and ideas about career orientations, his/her satisfaction with professional activity, the consistency of professional and personal development. Aim. The purpose of the article is to identify the relationship between self-image and career orientations of future teachers. Materials and methods. The study involved 162 students of the South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University aged from 17 to 24 years. The study was based on two methods: “Career Anchors” (E. Shane), which determine the career orientations of a person; life-orientation (D.A. Leontiev), allowing to assess the degree of conviction of the subject in the ability to control his/her own life. To determine the relationship between the two variables, the Pearson correlation coefficient was used with SPSS Statistics v. 22. Results: an empirical study conducted on a sample of future teachers (n = 162) showed that there were significant correlations between self-perception and career orientations. Dependencies between two career orientations (“service”, “challenge”) with self-image (“The master of life”, “I control my life”), characterized by the ability to influence the life of the teacher, were revealed. The dominant (“work stability”, “service” and “integration of lifestyles”) and weakly expressed (“residence stability”) career orientations of future teachers were determined. It is shown that future teachers expressed a desire to shape themselves as a specialist, to transfer their experience and knowledge to their students, to embody their universal human, spiritual and moral values and ideas in their work. Students were convinced that they would be able to make the right decisions and cope with any professional difficulties. Conclusion. The results allow us to conclude that there are significant correlations between self-perceptions and career orientations in future teachers. Self-image largely determines the goals and values of the future teacher in the field of educational activities. Self-perception determines the semantic side of career orientations, while the degree of understanding of the leading career orientations affects the personal and professional development of students during training, as well as their ideas about themselves. By receiving education, future teachers strive for self-development and self-realization in the framework of "horizontal career" and clearly demonstrate their willingness to serve people and society, which confirms the need to support and develop the autopsychological competence of future teachers.

This Major Research Paper is a qualitative study that utilizes a narrative approach through an anti-Black racism lens to investigate the cultural, historical, political and socioeconomic factors that influences the career advancement and employment journey for Black immigrants in Ontario, specifically those from the Caribbean. This study follows the employment journey of two adults of African descent in Ontario. Through their stories, the two participants detail their experiences with subtle systemic racism and resulting precarious employment. Other common themes that emerged amongst the participants were low income status, blocked career advancement opportunities, maintaining multiple jobs, lack of training specifically for Black immigrant adults, and low wage employment. The paper concludes by highlighting the importance of changing policies and structures in order to remove the barriers to stable employment and career advancement faced by people of African descent. The short story 'Sam’ is part of an original collection of short stories written as part of my MA creative thesis, Circo, which seeks to give voice to the queer community of Santurce, Puerto Rico through the integration of characters and storylines based on real queer Puerto Rican individuals and the personal experience I acquired being actively involved in Santurce’s LQBTQ community. These individuals’ queerness has led them to suffer misrepresentation and exclusion, as well as a social oppression that often denies them the freedom and opportunity to live genuinely validating lives. They inhabit what Homi K. Bhabha calls the ‘betwixt and between', that ‘in between’ space that allows individuals to elaborate strategies of selfhood that initiate new signs of identity (Mangham,p.4). Though inhabiting these spaces can allow for certain types of self-development, the largely traditional, heterosexual and conservative nature of Puerto Rico’s majority culture constantly pressures them to abide by normative gender stereotypes. Trans people thus feel the pull of the desire for ‘normalcy’ and the desire to find their ‘true’ self, which can keep them trapped in a stagnant world of ‘in-betweenness.’ Rather than play the victim, though, they embrace their limbo existence and make it into a productive space of expression and personal development.

The implementing of parking tax e-government policy in DKI Jakarta has been going on for approximately 7 (seven) years. In its implementation, there are many advantages and disadvantages that have an impact on the performance targets that have been set. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the policies and factors that determine the success of implementing the parking tax e-government in DKI Jakarta. This study uses the post-positivism method which uses theory as a reference in understanding research problems. The evaluation results of this study indicate; (1) the benefits of the online system have not significantly helped tax officers in monitoring compliance with taxpayers because only 3.37% of taxpayers routinely report their business transactions; (2) e-government applications have not been able to integrate Bapenda, DPMPTSP and UP Parking; (3) sanctions have not been applied firmly; (4) the business license revocation sanction is not in accordance with the higher tax regulations; and (5) the obligation to report business transactions online has not been optimally applied to all parking taxpayers, because there is still unpreparedness both in terms of taxpayers and electronic device support.

Statement of the problem. A fairly large number of requirements are presented to a graduate of a teacher training college. One of them is competence in information technology (hereinafter IT). This should be taught to students not only during computer science lessons, but also in the disciplines of the general education cycle, such as mathematics. Insufficient development of the methodology for using IT in mathematics lessons, some shortcomings in the use of digital technologies complicate the implementation of IT in the educational process. This article considers the role of IT in solving educational and research problems in mathematics; reveals the advantages and disadvantages of blended learning; the ways of eliminating these shortcomings with the help of the methodology for solving educational and research problems are outlined; the requirements to the formulation of educational and research tasks, which would contribute to the formation of skills in the use of IT, have been determined. The purpose of the article is to formulate the requirements to the formulation of an educational and research problem during blended learning in Mathematics among students of teacher training colleges. The research methodology consists of the analysis and systematization of documents in the field of secondary vocational education, research works on this topic, and the author’s own experience in teaching mathematics to students of a teacher training college. Research results. In the course of the analysis, the following results are presented: – the role of IT in solving educational and research problems in mathematics is determined; – the advantages and disadvantages of blended learning are revealed; – ways to eliminate the shortcomings of blended learning using the methodology for solving educational and research problems are outlined; – the requirements for the formulation of educational and research tasks, which would contribute to the formation of skills in the use of IT, are determined. Conclusion. The analysis carried out in the course of the study made it possible to formulate the requirements to the formulation of educational and research problems during blended learning in Mathematics among students of teacher training colleges.

Studies show women are underrepresented in higher education leadership. Nonetheless, women leaders achieve success when they receive strong institutional support. Mentors and coaches, both men and women, have the most impact on women's success, while other institutional aids include financial assistance, leadership support, and open institutional culture. Women who advance in their careers tend to remain at their institution. At the same time, lack of institutional support, family and work conflicts, and limited career advancement opportunities continue to pose barriers as women seek positions in the upper echelons of academic administration. Thus, there is a need for strong, consistent institutional support to improve and accelerate women's progress. Institutions that implement change in an inclusive, adaptable, and flexible manner can build a supportive infrastructure that benefits everyone. Women who prepare academically and professionally and contribute to the scholarly literature will help shape the future of higher education.
