Mulan film (2020) raises gender issues and is still related to the laws of norms and traditions. Mulan has a strong and patriarchal nature while Chinese cultural traditions are not unilateral with Mulan figures. The study aims to promote justice for women with regard to Chinese culture and traditions, as well as whether it has the opportunity to promote equal treatment without discrimination. Gender equality is commonplace to raise and talk about. Each gender is formed in a complex culture of each gender either in their respective positions or positions. Gender equality is linked to feminist, masculine and also includes sexism. Women and men can change roles like women can be wise leaders and men can do the skills that women have such as cooking. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods to analyze the social circumstances associated with the scene. Researchers use the technique of observing the film, interpreting each situation in the film, then collecting data, seeking information on gender equality or activities through observation and sensing that are still related to gender equality in culture, After that give a view on the object to be observed. Thus the research of Mulan film (2020) is intended to find a new mindset or an idea and a new understanding. This method uses observation and sensing and then provides a new interpretation.

Gender issues are still a topic that is often discussed in society. Gender is related to the social construction of the division of activities between women and men. Along with the development of times there are many assumptions that say that women still accept injustice and are still discriminated against so that many are demanding gender equality for women. In the Qur'an many verses describe justice and equality between women and men in their responsibilities and carrying out their role, but there are still many people who do not understand the contents of the verses in question. The public or broad audience needs to understand gender construction in this Islamic perspective to be able to realize the ideal gender construction in life, especially in the context of Islamic society.

Undeniably the issue of gender has become a very important issue globally. This urgency surfaced with the inclusion of gender issues as one of the main goals of the transformation of the global collective step, namely Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, which became a clear evidence of the growing concern of the world community regarding gender equality and polemics (un.org). However, gender equality and justice polemics remain a task far from over for Indonesia, especially when referring to the fact that the role of women in Indonesia still shows various inequalities in their correlation with development holistically. This condition is inseparable from the fact that until now Indonesia does not have a law that comprehensively accommodates the protection of women's rights from forms of discrimination against women, and violations of women's human rights in Indonesia's development. In this context, this study is woven within the framework of the urgency of gender equality and justice in Indonesia's development which demands laws that can become a comprehensive legal umbrella for the implementation of gender equality and justice. Using the approach of the social system, gender, and various concepts available in understanding women and development; and using qualitative methodologies in analyzing problems. This study will carry out a social-legal analysis of the implementation of gender equality and justice in order to explain a condition that ultimately shows the urgency of the Gender Equality and Justice Act as a basis for consolidating all elements of society in Indonesia's development today and in the future.

Keywords: Legal-Social Analysis, Gender Equality and Justice, Sustainable Development

In this paper, the author advances the thesis that in today's Serbia there is no social consensus concerning the unequal treatment of men and women, and that 'patriarchal syndrome', stereotypes and prejudices are still widely present and are greatly influencing the functioning of social mechanisms and the achievement of gender equality. In Serbia the process of achieving the equal treatment of women de jure is still in progress. With the absence of consensus, which is a prerequisite for 'transmitting' social values encompassed by gender equality, the chances are little that equality will be attained de facto. This paper is meant as a warning that not all types of women's inequality are easily noticeable, as well as that on the social scene there are many different and intertwined social actors which influence dealing with the problem of inequality, implementation of international and domestic legal acts, ethical standards, and taking steps to introduce mechanisms for achieving women's equality in society. One of the prerequisites for overcoming these difficulties is a system of education and educational resources, which promote the idea of gender equality.

This study explored whether vertical position affects social categorization of the rich and the poor. Experiment 1 used high- and low-income occupations as stimuli, and found participants categorized high-income occupations faster when they were presented in the top vertical position compared to the bottom vertical position. In Experiment 2, participants responded using either the “up” or “down” key to categorize high- and low-income occupations, and responded faster to high-income occupations with the “up” key and low-income occupations with the “down” key. In Experiment 3, names identified as belonging to either rich or poor individuals were presented at the top or bottom of a screen, and the results were the same as in Experiments 1 and 2. These findings suggest that social categorization based on wealth involved perceptual simulations of vertical position, and that vertical position affects the social categorization of the rich and the poor.

Introduction: Among the estimated 22.5 million stroke survivors in China, 78% of them require home care. Previous research has indicated that culture can have a significant impact on caregivers’ perceptions of the caregiving role. There is a dearth of research on stroke caregivers’ perceptions within the Chinese culture. Objective: To explore how Chinese culture influences the perceptions of the caregiving role among stroke caregivers. Methods: In this qualitative descriptive study, 14 stroke caregivers were recruited from a 1800-bed regional hospital in China. Caregivers were on average 58 years old (range 46-74), 78% female, 50% spouse-caregivers and 50% children-caregivers. Caregivers spent on average 14 hours per day (range 5-24) providing care. All were 1st time caregivers who had provided stroke caregiving < 12 months. Individual, semi-structured interviews were conducted. Qualitative content analysis was performed. Strategies to achieve trustworthiness include triangulation of the data in the analysis process, member checking and peer debriefing. Results: Three themes emerged from the interviews. (1) Caregiving is a natural expected part of life. All caregivers accepted caregiving for the sick family member as an expected part of life. This perception is deeply rooted in Chinese culture. (2) Caregiving is a culturally prescribed obligation. Spouse caregivers believe that it is their moral obligation to take care of their sick life partner. Female caregivers emphasized their position and role in the family to take up caregiving for sick relative. (3) Caregiving is an expression of reciprocal love within the immediate family. Tangible caregiving and support during adversity are viewed as expression of reciprocal love among family members. Particularly, the children-caregivers believed in the virtue of filial piety and perceived stroke caregiving as a means of repaying their parents. Conclusions: Our findings highlight an underlying acceptance and devotion of undertaking stroke caregiving within the Chinese culture. Researchers and clinicians that plan to develop an intervention to support Chinese stroke caregivers need to consider integrating these findings.

This article aims to describe the Arab Spring phenomenon through critical discourse analysis of the Qatar Debate. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the note-taking method. The results of the study show that the structure of the discourse contained in the Qatar debate consists of several structures. First, the macrostructure that contains thematic elements or general themes, namely about ‘Arab Spring has failed’. Second, is the superstructure which contains schematic elements referring to the system and the rules of the game in the turn of speech. Third, the microstructure contains elements of semantics, syntax, stylistics, rhetoric, and metaphors. The semantic element of the Qatar debate shows the uses of language that aims to rever to connotative meanings. Syntactically, the Qatari debaters are dominant using active sentence patterns and noun sentences (jumlah ismiyah). From the stylistic aspect, both teams have their own style of language, as the pro team uses a lot of declarative styles while the counter team tends to use an interrogative style. The rhetorical and metaphorical elements are used a few times but not in large portions. This study also shows the different views of the two teams from two countries that represent the social views of the people in their respective countries towards the Arab Spring phenomenon.

Keywords – Arab Spring, Critical Discourse Analyst, Qatar Debate

According to the United Nations, males and females should be given equal treatment in physical and psychological services, and healthcare institutions should exert greater efforts to reduce the gap in gender equality. However, this issue has been largely ignored in previous literature on healthcare environments. Designing a hospital environment that focuses on gender differences is critical to academic researchers and practical managers in all healthcare institutions. Thus, as an exploratory effort, this study aims to develop a measurement to assess customer perceptions of gender-friendly hospital environments. To identify and refine the structure of the instrument, two studies are conducted at different hospitals in Taiwan. The exploratory evidence shows there are five factors (i.e., physical design, functional design, marking design, gender perception, and gender-friendly services) and 28 items in the measurement scale of gender-friendly hospital environments. Results also show that gender-friendly hospital environments affect customers’ loyalty and willingness to pay. Based on our findings, hospital practitioners and researchers can adopt the measurement instrument used in this study to deal with the gap of gender equality in healthcare environments.

Objective: To analyze the social representation of adolescents about gynecological consultation and the influence of those in searching for consultations. Method: Qualitative descriptive study based on the Social Representations Theory, conducted with 50 adolescents in their last year of middle school. The data was collected between April and May of 2010 by Evocations and a Focal Group. The software EVOC and contextual analysis were used in the data treatment. Results: The elements fear and constraint, constant in the central nucleus, can justify the low frequency of adolescents in consultations. The term embarrassment in the peripheral system reinforce current sociocultural norms, while prevention, associated with learning about sex and clarifying doubts, allows to envision an educative function. Obtained testimonies in the focal groups exemplify and reinforce those findings. Conclusion: For an effective health education, professionals, including nurses, need to clarify the youth individually and collectively about their rights to privacy, secrecy, in addition to focus the gynecological consultation as a promotion measure to sexual and reproductive health.
