Ayurveda is the science of living being. It begins with right lifestyle including daily and seasonal health regime designed for each individual based upon their nature, constitution, environment and life circumstances. Madhumeha is the subtype of Prameha. Due to resemblance of the feature of Madhumeha with that of DM explained in modern medicine, it is correlated with DM. According to WHO approximately 220 million people worldwide have type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is widely recognized that stress may have negative effects on health and that patients with type 2 diabetes may be at an increased risk. Yoga is an ancient Indian psychological and physical exercise regime and a number of controlled studies exist on the effectiveness of yoga on diabetes mellitus. Yogic practices strengthen and increase the tone of weak muscles and help with conscious control over autonomic function of the body. So, the present study on the role of Yogaabhyas as a lifestyle modification in Madhumeha. Keywords: Madhumeha, type 2 diabetes, asana in diabetes

‘Appetite, fat, and obesity’ considers the role of insulin in the body’s fat storage process. In the condition diabetes mellitus, the sugar level in the blood rises uncontrollably so the kidneys cannot stop it leaking into the urine. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s immune system attacks the insulin-secreting β-cells of the pancreas. The only effective treatment is to inject the missing insulin. Type 2 diabetes is considered more of a lifestyle disease. But what exactly is the connection between obesity and poorly regulated blood glucose? The body has more hormones capable of responding to energy shortage than to energy abundance, which may be why keeping control of body weight can be difficult. The hormones affecting appetite are also discussed.

<span style="font-family: MeliorLTCE; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: MeliorLTCE; font-size: x-small;"><p>The article focuses on the role of insulin in the everyday life of the type 2 diabetic. The diagnosis of type 2 diabetes is not merely the establishment of a chronic disease, it also alters the patient’s conception of his own body and his everyday life. For many patients, the diagnosis is their first encounter with the interiors of their bodies. It is attempted to regulate the diabetes by a number of practices; in the article, this is viewed as a bio-medical disciplinization, which deals with the body and life as objects. The biomedicine conquers the diabetic body and becomes part of the diabetic’s everyday life. Thereby, the body is problematized as a natural and delimited category. The limits of the body are broken down by the recurring penetration of the skin, when the blood sugar is measured or the insulin injected. Insulin is analysed as a trickster figure which exerts a boundary work on the body, plays with its categories and inverts the relations between poison and medicine, freedom and constraint, artificiality and naturalness, security and risk. Everyday life is changed and future put into perspective by the trickster, which at the same time makes both everyday life and the future possible by its blood sugar reducing properties.</p></span></span>

Background: DM is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Symptoms that are complained of in diabetes mellitus sufferers are polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia, weight loss, and tingling sensation. The oral glucose tolerance test is a test used to diagnose DM when the blood glucose level is less firm, during pregnancy, or to screen for DM or TGT. Leptin is a hormone produced by fat cells that regulate fat storage in the body and adjusts hunger to energy expenditure. Objective: to find out more about the role of leptin on TTGO in people with Type 2 diabetes. Methods: using literature studies from both national and international journals to increase knowledge and understanding of the topics discussed by summarizing the discussion topics and comparing the results presented in the article. Results: Leptin on TTGO examination in individuals with impaired glucose tolerance had a greater chance of becoming diabetes mellitus if there was no intervention in their lifestyle. Conclusion: Leptin plays a role in checking TTGO in people with Type 2 diabetes

In the past few years, the pathophysiological role of various factors in type 2 diabetes mellitus has been fully explored. Subsequently, this marked the progression in the development of a novel therapeutic agent. Such brain-derived neurotropic factors, including neurotrophic factor-2 and anti-inflammatory agents for the treatment of diabetes, have emerged. However, the therapeutic potential of endocannabinoids in type 2 diabetes mellitus is still not fully understood. At present, cannabinoids are under research for their therapeutic and safety profile issues in numerous thrust areas. Its wide biological actions are implemented through cannabinoid receptor type 1(CB1) and CB2 receptors, which find major applications as anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, anti-cancer, and antidiabetic therapeutics with lesser side effects than any other traditional therapy. The current review aims to reveal detailed aspects of pathological and physiological pathways with endocannabinoids followed in disease progression. Different alterations induced by them in the pancreas, such as 2-arachidonylglycerol and anandamide during hyperglycemia, clearly verify their participation in the progression of type 2 diabetes. Activation of both cannabinoid receptors results in metabolic changes inside the body, and receptor antagonist rimonabant has been proven to be protective in controlling insulin resistance in diabetic patients. Therefore, endocannabinoids are a promising target in new drug developments and further in-depth analysis of their hidden aspects, which would help develop alternate beneficial targets in combating the progression of diabetes.

Background: In recent times much is talked about of serum ferritin, an acute phase reactant a marker of iron stores in the body and its association with diabetes mellitus. Studies implicate that increased body iron stores and subclinical hemochromatosis has been associated with the development of glucose intolerance, type 2 diabetes and its micro as well as macrovascular complications. Material & Methods: This study was carried out to examine and to observe for any relationship between serum ferritin with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Our study populations were included 163. Among them 81 type 2 diabetes patients as a case (M=49,F=32, mean 44.68 age in years)and 82 normal healthy individual as a control ( M=35, F=47 , mean 34.71 in years). Results: Majority were healthy outpatients who had come for regular checkup and were matched with controls. Serum ferritin and FBS were estimated and other investigations. Results showed that although Serum ferritin was in the normal range value it was increased in type 2 diabetes patients than in controls and was statistically significant, we did get a positive correlation with duration of diabetes. It can be concluded that there were positive associations between serum ferritin and FBG, age, sex among study groups. Conclusion: In conclusion our study shows that there is significant correlation between increased serum ferritin in diabetes compared to individuals with normal blood sugars in this part and hyper ferritinemia may be one of the causes for development of insulin resistance before overt diabetes.
