This work focuses on the role of the composer Vladimir (Vlada) Jovanović in the renewal of church Byzantine music in Serbia from the 1990s until today. This multi-talented artist worked and created art in his native Belgrade, with creativity that exceeded local frames. This research emphasizes Jovanović’s pedagogical and compositional work in the field of Byzantine music, which mostly took place through his activity in the St. John of Damascus choir in Belgrade. The author analyzes the problems in implementation of modal church Byzantine music, since the first students did not hear it in their surroundings, as well as the responses of the listeners. Special attention is paid to students’ narratives, which help us perceive the broad cultural and social impact of Jovanović’s creative work.

The article analyzes V.V. Rozanov’s conceptions of antiquity, Middle Ages and new history. Rozanov singles out three periods of Russian history – Kiev, Vladimir-Moscow and Petersburg ones. The essence of each of those periods the philosopher consecutively correlates with adoption of Christianity, political organization formation and the beginning of individual creative work dominance. While interpreting his contemporary events as a public person and a journalist, Rozanov regards earlier epochs from the position of a myth-creator. The diverse historical process gives way to the literary and static image of the epoch. The author of the article pays special attention to how Rozanov characterizes historical personalities, to his views on the role of religion, state, bureaucracy and parliamentarism.

Firms increasingly offer employees the opportunity to participate in firm-sponsored social impact initiatives expected to benefit the firm and employees. We argue that participation in such initiatives hinders employees’ advancement in their firms by reducing others’ perceptions of their fit and commitment. Because social impact work is more congruent with female than male gender role stereotypes, promotion rates will be lower for participating men, and male evaluators will be less likely than female evaluators to recommend promotion for male participants. Using panel data on 1,379 employees of a consulting firm, we find significantly lower promotion rates for male participants relative to female participants, female non-participants, and male non-participants. A vignette experiment involving 893 managers shows that lower promotion rates are due to lower perceptions of fit, but not commitment, and greater bias against male participants by male evaluators. Taken together, the results of the two studies suggest that the negative effect of participation on promotion is conditional upon participant and evaluator gender, underscoring the role of gender in evaluation of social impact work. In settings in which decision makers are predominately male, gender beliefs may limit male employees’ latitude to contribute to the firm’s social impact agenda.

The authors of the research focus on Antonio Pasculli, a famous Italian virtuoso oboe player and composer of the late 19th - the early 20th century, whose name had long and undeservingly been in the wilderness. In the last two-three decades, his legacy has been getting a new lease on life. Pasculli’s compositions are on the concert list of oboe players all over the world. Despite the performance popularity, the personality and creative work of the outstanding Italian musician are still on the periphery of the research focus of Russian musicologists. All valuable information is contained in rare foreign researches. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to reconstruct the artistic portrait of Antonio Pasculli in the context of time. This research is the first in Russian musicology to introduce into Russian scientific discourse the data from foreign sources revealing the peculiarities of Pasculli’s creative life. Based on the analysis of the collected data, the authors conclude about the necessity to revise the role of Pasculli’s work and legacy in the context of European music culture of the 19th century. It is believed that familiarization with the information about the Italian musician, unknown to the Russian audience, will help to not only dive deeper into the specificity of Pasculli’s compositions, but also to reinterpret his place and role in the evolution of playing woodwind instruments.

Over the last decade, interest in the heritage of such national thinkers who have worked in the space of sociocultural and religious studies has become relevant. That is why, in our opinion, the appeal to Vyacheslav Lipynsky's creative work is justified. Today, his legacy can be used not only to understand the history of society and the state, but also to understand some aspects of our present. Therefore, you should listen more carefully to the thoughts of this thinker.

The potential of the natural tourist attraction of Siwang Paradise will have a high attractiveness value if it is supported by the role of stakeholders in management and development. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of stakeholders in the management and development of the natural tourist attraction of Siwang Paradise, and what obstacles are experienced by stakeholders in optimally managing and developing these objects. The method used is descriptive qualitative, the determination of respondents is based on snowball sampling technique, the analysis is carried out inductively based on facts and the results of interviews with respondents and key actors. The results showed that the stakeholders involved in the management of the Siwang Paradise object were the key actors (area owners) and the main actors (surrounding communities). Constraints in the management of the Siwang object are due to the lack of trust within the area owner to involve supporting stakeholders, in this case the private sector, NGOs, and academics. So that the management of objects in developing various readiness of tourist attraction products becomes slow and runs not optimally. The visible impact of the management is the economic impact, through increasing family income, social impact, reducing unemployment, opening up road access, making motorcycle taxis easier to use, making it easier for people to do their activities. While the ecological impact is the management is carried out by paying attention to the cleanliness of the environment from waste, and based on the carrying capacity of the object area.

Circular economy is becoming ever more widespread sustainable concept for promoting efficient resource usage; Amsterdam is one of the first cities to implement this approach to solve waste management problems. While the circular transition is mostly examined from a top-down perspective, the role of bottom-up initiatives is often left unstudied. This article determines the contribution of bottom-up initiatives to Amsterdam’s circular transition by assessing their environmental, economic, social impact together with their commitment to circularity. The study utilizes the survey method followed by a statistical analysis to investigate the influence of such initiatives on public awareness, involvement, and behavioral change. The content analysis of initiatives’ official documentation and news articles allows revealing the environmental and economic impact and analyzing initiatives’ commitment to circularity. The results communicate that bottom-up initiatives mostly create an economic value and positively affect citizens’ involvement. However, the environmental impact, the influence on public awareness and partly on behavioral change is insignificant due to their small local scale and inconsistency between the declared and actual priorities. Such initiatives might still serve as trendsetters thereby indirectly tackling waste problem and facilitating Amsterdam’s circular transition.

This article presents the main views of the St. John of Damascus on the holy places of Palestine, which received a systematic coverage within the framework of his theology of the icon.In his theologyof holyplaces, the following topics are discussed: holyplaces as receptacles of divine action and grace; theology of holy places rooted in the theory of images developed by him and its closeness in dogmatic content to the theology of the icon; Incarnation as the most important doctrinal basis for honoring Palestinian shrines; the role of matter in the alvation of man; the authority of tradition and biblical exegesis in upholding the practice of honoring holy places. An important place is given in the theology of the holy places of St. John to the category of “worship” and “veneration”. He also develops questions of the pragmatic and sacred/mystical role of holy places, within which one can distinguish the mediator/soteriological, commemorative, anagogical, proscynitarnian (god-worshiping), charismatic, apologetic and apotropaic functions, as well as the function of revelation. At the same time, the concept of God’s omnipresence should be considered as a dogmatic “restrictive limit” in the matter of honoring holy places. Finally, Damascene’s theology is characterized by the theme of reverent and expressive love for holy places as an expression of love for God, as well as a motive for the interiorization of the experience of meeting with Palestinian shrines.
