AbstractRecent years brought about a widespread interest in the potential applications of nanotechnology for the diagnostics and the therapy of human diseases. With its promise of disease-targeted, patient-tailored treatment and reduced side effects, nanomedicine brings hope for millions of patients suffering of non-communicable diseases such as cancer or cardiovascular disorders. However, the emergence of the complex, multicomponent products based on new technologies poses multiple challenges to successful approval in clinical practice. Regulatory and development considerations, including properties of the components, reproducible manufacturing and appropriate characterization methods, as well as nanodrugs’ safety and efficacy are critical for rapid marketing of the new products. This review discusses the recent advances in cardiovascular applications of nanotechnologies and highlights the challenges that must be overcome in order to fill the gap existing between the promising bench trials and the successful bedside applications.

Ambulatory assessment of emotional states as well as psychophysiological, cognitive and behavioral reactions constitutes an approach, which is increasingly being used in psychological research. Due to new developments in the field of information and communication technologies and an improved application of mobile physiological sensors, various new systems have been introduced. Methods of experience sampling allow to assess dynamic changes of subjective evaluations in real time and new sensor technologies permit a measurement of physiological responses. In addition, new technologies facilitate the interactive assessment of subjective, physiological, and behavioral data in real-time. Here, we describe these recent developments from the perspective of engineering science and discuss potential applications in the field of neuropsychology.

The new technologies born from academic research can be very promising, yet they are often very early stage. University spin-off companies are uniquely positioned to tackle the risks associated with new technologies emerging from academia by developing proofs of concept, functioning prototypes, and new products. While these enterprises start from a solid research and development foundation, they face their own unique set of challenges—they are strongly anchored in the scientific and technological expertise that is typically backed by intellectual property but often lack the business experience needed to develop and market products demanded by customers. University spin-offs have access to substantial non-dilutive funding that can be utilized for advancing product development. While the relentless pursuit of these funds builds a company's credibility and improves its position for negotiating future private investment, university spin-offs would greatly benefit from an early focus on complementing their technology teams with their business teams. These new enterprises should consider pursuing private investment in parallel to utilizing sources of non-dilutive funding. Timing of private investment is extremely important to maximize the value of the opportunity, and, therefore, building relationships with investors early on and getting ready for executing an investment round can greatly increase odds for success. While there is no single path to formulate, pursue, and adapt successful financing strategies, lessons can be learned from real-life cases of university spin-offs that continue their journeys towards ultimate success.

: Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and other characterization methods are used to characterize the complexes formed by cyclopentano-cucurbit[6]uril (abbreviated as CyP6Q[6]) as a host interacting with p-aminobenzenesulfonamide (G1), 4,4'-diaminobiphenyl (G2), and (E)-4,4'-diamino-1,2-diphenylethene (G3) as guests, respectively. The experimental results show that these three aromatic amine molecules have the same interaction mode with CyP6Q[6], interacting with its negatively electric potential portals. The supramolecular interactions include non-covalent interactions of hydrogen bonding and ion-dipole between host and guest molecules. CdCl2 acts as a structureinducing agent to form self-assemblies of multi-dimensional and multi-level supramolecular frameworks that may have potential applications in various functional materials.

At present, people pay more attention to the energy consumption of building electrical design, the use of energy-saving design can maximize the energy conservation resources, and ultimately increase the pace of social sustainable development. Therefore, the energy-saving designers involved in the need to follow the economic rational, safe and feasible benchmark to select the appropriate energy-saving measures to increase research and development of new technologies, new products and new energy, the concept of sustainable development to be implemented. In view of this, this paper mainly analyzes the energy saving technical measures in the electrical design of thebuilding.

Cooperation is a strategy of an enterprise, seeking to retain its market share. The cooperation means the establishment of long‐term relations of production between economically and legally independent enterprises. The measurement of the level of cooperation achieved plays an important part in this process because it helps to determine the effect of cooperation on the efficiency of commercial activities of an enterprise, as well as the extent of cooperation influence, the conditions required for effective cooperation of enterprises, etc. In the present investigation, the analysis of the cooperation influence on the competitiveness of an enterprise is made, based on the suggested formula for determining the level of the cooperation achieved by enterprises. The analysis performed shows that this influence is not strong, implying that the appropriate organisational forms of cooperation have not been found yet. Cooperation mainly affects the profitability of an enterprise. The analysis of cooperation in the area of production shows that cooperation in production, and the development of new technologies and new products is most important for achieving enterprise profitability. The number of partners also has a great influence on cooperation effectiveness. Santrauka Kooperacija yra vienas iš imones strategines elgsenos būdu siekiant išlikti rinkoje. The first indications of future trouble are identified. For most of history, new medicines arise from nature but this approach came into question as evidenced by the development of the cancer drug Taxol. As understanding of biology and chemistry incraesed, a degree of over-confidence arose as researchers assumed that new technologies would allow them to predict the most effective medicines. These changes were a response to an environment confronting twin pressures in the form of rising generic medicines coupled with ever more costly research and development activities needed to develop new products to replace those devastated by generic competition. These issues were exacerbated by a rising dependence upon “blockbuster” products, which conveyed short-term revenues but inevitably needed to be replaced by even more profitable products once generic competition intervened. Dependence on blockbusters was exemplified by the story of ulcer medicines, which was disrupted by an audacious study by an investigator who used himself as a Guinea pig to make his point. As such risks increased, the industry became more cautious and the race was on to make incremental improvements upon competitors’ products. All the while the cost of developing new medicines continued to escalate.

Nickel base single crystal superalloy is widely used in hot end parts of aeroengine because of its excellent creep, fatigue and oxidation resistance. In the face of strong market demand and the emergence of new technologies and methods, in 2019, nickel-based single crystal superalloys have made remarkable achievements in preparation and heat treatment processes, repair techniques, test methods, characterization methods, theoretical simulation analysis and composition design, which continuously promotes the development of nickel base single crystal superalloy to the direction of high performance and low cost. The present work reviews the progresses from preparation and heat treatment process, repair technology of service alloy structure, service evaluation of alloy, high flux composition design. The progress in the design, preparation and engineering application of superalloy materials will eventually promote the development of a new generation of aeroengine.

Proteases are an expanding class of drugs that hold great promise. The U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has approved 12 protease therapies, and a number of next generation or completely new proteases are in clinical development. Although they are a well-recognized class of targets for inhibitors, proteases themselves have not typically been considered as a drug class despite their application in the clinic over the last several decades; initially as plasma fractions and later as purified products. Although the predominant use of proteases has been in treating cardiovascular disease, they are also emerging as useful agents in the treatment of sepsis, digestive disorders, inflammation, cystic fibrosis, retinal disorders, psoriasis and other diseases. In the present review, we outline the history of proteases as therapeutics, provide an overview of their current clinical application, and describe several approaches to improve and expand their clinical application. Undoubtedly, our ability to harness proteolysis for disease treatment will increase with our understanding of protease biology and the molecular mechanisms responsible. New technologies for rationally engineering proteases, as well as improved delivery options, will expand greatly the potential applications of these enzymes. The recognition that proteases are, in fact, an established class of safe and efficacious drugs will stimulate investigation of additional therapeutic applications for these enzymes. Proteases therefore have a bright future as a distinct therapeutic class with diverse clinical applications.
