Abstract The paper deals with the evaluation of relation between roughness parameters of Ti6Al4V alloy produced by DMLS and modified by abrasive blasting. There were two types of blasting abrasives that were used – white corundum and Zirblast at three levels of air pressure. The effect of pressure on the value of individual roughness parameters and an influence of blasting media on the parameters for samples blasted by white corundum and Zirblast were evaluated by ANOVA. Based on the measured values, the correlation matrix was set and the standard of correlation statistic importance between the monitored parameters was determined from it. The correlation coefficient was also set.

Abrasive blasting modifies the surface state of pre-treated materials in terms of surface irregularities. Bearing in mind that the roughness characteristics affect the components functionality, it is essential to study and evaluation the surface state of pre-treated materials. The paper deals with evaluation of relation between individual parameters of roughness of the blasted surfaces by the correlation analysis. Based on the measured values on the surfaces which were blasted by various types of blasting devices, the correlation matrix was set and the standard of statistic importance of correlation between the monitored parameters was determined from it. The correlation coefficient was also set. There were found regression models using ANOVA (ANalysis Of Variance). Based on the analysis of the results were also proposed sets of roughness parameters, which can be used in the assessment of the blasted surfaces.

In order to decrease accidents of slips and falls, COFs of rubber samples with different surface roughness were measured by Brungraber Mark II. And the correlation coefficients between roughness parameters and COF were calculated. The rusults have shown that the COF increases with surface roughness and the correlation coefficient between Sq and COF is highest. In general, almost all the roughness parameters used in the study have high correlation with COF. Parameters had the highest correlation with COF depends on the materials used and test conditions.

The most commonly used technology among the additive manufacturing is Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS). This process is based on selective laser sintering (SLS). The method gained its popularity due to the possibility of producing metal parts of any geometry, which would be difficult or impossible to obtain by the use of conventional manufacturing techniques. Materials used in the elements manufacturing process are: titanium alloys (e.g. Ti6Al4V), aluminium alloy AlSi10Mg, etc. Elements printed from Ti6Al4V titanium alloy find their application in many industries. Details produced by additive technology are often used in medicine as skeletal, and dental implants. Another example of the DMLS elements use is the aerospace industry. In this area, the additive manufacturing technology produces, i.a. parts of turbines. In addition to the aerospace and medical industries, DMLS technology is also used in motorsport for exhaust pipes or the gearbox parts. The research objects are samples for static tests. These samples were made of Ti6Al4V alloy by the DMLS method and the rolling method from a drawn rod. The aim of the paper is the mechanical properties comparative analysis of the Ti6Al4V alloy produced by the DMLS method under static loading conditions and microstructure analysis of this material.

The surface topography errors of micro-EDM are mainly composed of surface roughness, surface waveness and so on. Research shows that the surface morphology provides a lot of useful information, which has serious influence on the friction and lubrication characteristics of the surface. However, for the micro-EDM surface topography evaluation problem, researchers have been using surface roughness parameters and evaluation method of mechanical process, which restrict the micro-EDM technology further development. On this account, the surface roughness parameters of micro-EDM have been deeply studied in this paper according to its technology characteristics and the surface morphology characteristics, therefore, the main researches and creative points are obtained, which the influence that the surface roughness of micro-EDM parts impact on their using performance is analyzed, and based on the surface morphology characteristics, some roughness evaluation parameters are given respectively according to peaks and valley, moreover, their numerical calculation are also gained.
