The author argues that understanding crisis phenomena in an education system, as well as conditions of upgrading this system, is connected with development of a philosophy of education focused on such categories as language and communication. The heuristic and productive nature of theory of communicative action and hermeneutics is shown while comprehending the specific nature of learning environment where a pedagogical interaction between a teacher and students is carried out. Taking into account the ideas of J. Habermas, H. G. Gadamer and L. Wittgenstein, it is shown that education is a process of human development if it is organised as a process of searching for and generating meanings by the students. This educational process model corresponding to essential human need for self-understanding and self-expression.

The values in which teachers believe express the philosophy of education to which they adhere. Our study is based on two related dimensions: the study of the specialised literature and the conclusions of some studies that we have conducted in the last 5 years regarding the values in which the teachers at different stages of the Romanian education system believe. Its purpose: to identify significant perspectives for the complementary analysis of the teacher’s axiological universe. We identified, developed and systematised the following perspectives: contemporary world and the dimension of values; initial and continuous teacher training and the issue of values; on axiological self-reflexivity and its effects and the transfer of values and the holistic evolution of the teacher. The conclusions reinforce the teacher’s hypostasis as reflexive practitioner with profound implications, both on the day-to-day performance of the instructive-educational process and on the reconsideration of the coordinates of their initial/continuing training. Keywords: Values, teacher’s axiological universe, reflexive practitioner.

This article examines the controversial problems of relations between parents and pedagogues, as well as specific nature of conflicts emerging between them in the educational organization. The author reveals the concept of “conflict” along with the key factors influencing the occurrence of conflicts between parents and pedagogues. Examination of causes and nature of such type of conflicts is carried out for finding optimal methods for settling the conflicts between parents and pedagogues. Humanization of pedagogical approach in education led to the establishment of ambiguous trend in the development of relations between parents and pedagogues. The relevance is defined by the fact that the education system in modern Russia has experienced and continues to experience serious transformations. The acquired results demonstrate correlation between the high propensity towards conflict  of the pedagogue and the nature of conflict with the parents of students. Personality of the pedagogue plays an important role within the system of pedagogue–parent relations. For determining the degree of influence of the revealed factors upon the nature of conflicts between parents and pedagogues, the author carried out a research that included several methodologies. Recommendations are made on improvement of communication competences of pedagogues, namely the ability to resolve conflict situations related to educational process, and particularly, with the parents of students.

Democratization of education is considered as a key direction of reforming the education sector in Ukraine. One of its key aspects is full-fledged informatization, which includes both technological and educational, ideological, value, life-creating parameters. Effective democratization and informatization of the educational process allow to prepare a person for successful self-realization in an open society of sustainable development. The defining features of the new model of education are the democratization and informatization of the educational process, management activities in this sphear. Democratization of education is aimed primarily at raising the quality of educational services, ensuring comprehensive flexibility of the education system. Also, the democratization of education involves the individualization of learning – creating opportunities for each subject to build their own direction of the educational process within existing standards and ensure the implementation of individual methods in the educational process. In turn, the informatization of education in Ukraine involves the following steps: equipping educational institutions with information technology; transformation of the nature of education due to the development of informatization of society, combining the benefits of traditional education with the possibilities of information technology; creation of a single information educational space, etc. It is emphasized that the main guideline for the modernization of Ukrainian education at the turn of the century should be the philosophy of education of a society of sustainable human development. The role of the philosophy of education for sustainable development becomes especially relevant in connection with the need to form in the citizens of Ukraine a global, planetary, environmentally oriented worldview aimed at overcoming the shortcomings of consumer psychology. The philosophy of education of the society of sustainable human development orients the person on values of comfortable and safe existence, creative and stable existence in the conditions of various crises and dangers.

The article analyzes the development of the education system of Ukraine from the point of view of the theory of generations by American researchers William Strauss and Neil Howe. Theoretical substantiation of the hypothesis concerning the transitional character of the whole Ukrainian society from the Soviet cycle of generational change to the national cycle of generational change is given. The subjects of education providing are the middle and older generations, while the subjects of education are mostly the younger generation – the sociological and historical definition of these generations, specifying their characteristics as stable social groups in a society should be the next step. The tasks of the philosophy of education, which for some time were devoted to reflecting on the development of the national education system in general, must now should be specified now as tasks for a certain generation of Ukrainian (and not Soviet or post-Soviet) society. In this context, it is time for both the Institute of Higher Education and the philosophy of education to summarize, revise the initial vision of institutional tasks, clarify them, expand, supplement with new tasks and in general – create a new vision of the philosophy of education and philosophy of higher education in Ukraine. Overcoming the current crisis of the education system of Ukraine is possible through a clear definition of the goals and basic values of education for specific participants of the educational process – only in this way, systemic goals and values become the values and goals of individual educational communities. Teachers, professors and other subjects of education appear then as specific pedagogical teams, united by explicit educational values and goals, which are clearly correlated, on the one hand, with the tasks of development of the national educational system, and on the other – with the motivation of educational activities of specific teachers. The inevitable competition in education, which is particularly dramatic in overcoming its systemic crisis, has positive consequences if it is carried out as a competition for the best embodiment of virtues, for excellence in the providing and gaining of education.

The article is focused on the elaboration of the theory of multiliteracy developed by the New London Group in the mid-1990s, with a special emphasis on multilingualism as a challenge for the teachers of English who need to acquire a new understanding of the rapidly changing learning environment shaped by the multitude of language repertoire performed in the classroom. The modern language communication necessitates a more dynamic way of interpreting and processing the information received through the construction of a personal search trajectory. Multimodal literacy as the goal of modern education requires developing of the ability to actualize meanings through the personal modality and narratives. The new educational context should be equally important and accepted by every participant engaged in the educational process, as well as, if necessary, be supplemented by new modalities. The English teachers’ experience of integrating multiliteracies into their practice is shown through the narrative enquiry approach.

Hollywood has produced many super heroes such as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Recently it released a film titled 'Waiting for Superman' which shows a young boy imprisoned within a system and classroom that does not stimulate his learning while actively destroying his motivation and engagement with the educational process. The film implied the task of fixing the problem was so great that only Superman could fix it. So what are the criteria for a super hero? Firstly it is someone with extraordinary powers beyond those of most mortals. In this paper I will propose that most mathematics teachers meet the criteria and are super heroes who combat the spread of darkness and ignorance of mathematics. I will present evidence to prove that most mild mannered mathematics teachers are really super heroes in disguise. Mathematics teachers have super powers. They have the power to understand and value mathematics, something that is beyond the vast majority of the population. What is the basis of their power? It is their mathematics pedagogical and content knowledge. Not only can they do mathematics, but they can construct a learning environment where their students develop conceptual knowledge and deep learning. They use the latest developments in technology to assist their battle with the forces of darkness and innumeracy. While more mathematics has been invented in the last 50 years than in the preceding years of human development, teachers are expected to keep abreast of this new knowledge. Hollywood may be waiting for Superman, but the real super heroes are every day engaged in the battle to reveal to their students the power and the beauty of mathematics that can transform their lives.

Interestingly, the development of science needs, related to the ESP is most reliant on improvement every time. In the other hand, all grassroots, whether learners, teachers, educators or decision-makers; must work together to ensure the feasible continuation of the ESP education system. Moreover, science never sleeps at the heart of the empiric world; this process also takes place in the domain of the ESP. The complexity of the science realm that is intended to be (if, how, when, how, when, and what) the goal of improving the ESP in a sustainable process. Consequently, the debate on research and development must potentially lead to educational and non-educational concerns. In the field of education, it is definitely closely connected to all guiding processes in the growth of ESP research. Furthermore, the expected phase of the research and progress in the field of education must occur simultaneously unless the curriculum, which serves as the foundation for the educational process, intends to work consistently and in a measurable manner; if it is also tailored to the needs of global development. The expected needs are verbal and non-verbal communication abilities, including speaking, writing, listening and reading skills. This skill is dependent on realistic knowledge about the use of English for specific purposes. Whereas in the non-educational sphere, ESP plays a significant impacts on human development and mobilization, both intentionally and unintentionally, through individuals-in pairs-or groups: which definitely has the purpose. Essentially, however, the design process of the ESP study must be consistent with global needs in order to meet the objective of using standardized and comprehensive English in line with the position of the occasions.

Education is essential for human life. Because with education, humans will experience a change, from not knowing to know. It can be said, that education is a noble effort in order to eradicate foolishness and humanizing human. According to what Immanuel Kant said that human could be human because of education. In Indonesia, the issues of the curriculum which is a government policy are one of the problems in education. The demands of the curriculum that want to measure the ability of the student just from numbers are one problem in the education world. Because education obviously cannot be narrowed down jus like that in numbers. These problems clearly cannot be solved easily. In one side, it must be admitted that the education system in Indonesia is very towards achieving a result. On the other side, a teacher must focus on teaching about true values. Based on the description above, this article will discuss the comparative philosophy of education in Y.B Mangunwijaya and Ki Hadjar Dewantara, and their relevance to education in Indonesia.
